Dereck Chisora Punk Slaps Vitali Klitschko At Weigh Ins

The WBC has now gotten involved, fining Chisora a large $50,000 for the transgression against etiquette.


Vitali Klitschko (43-2) puts his world title on the line in Munich on Saturday night against Zimbabwean-born Brit Dereck Chisora (15-2). The build-up to this fight had been largely good natured (the Klitschkos tend to prefer it that way) until the weigh-in when Del Boy delivered a right-handed slap to Dr Iron Fist’s cheek. Will Vitali make Chisora pay in the ring, or was the slap a precursor to the end of an almighty reign?

You shouldnt slap people. But its f****** ridiculous when the sanctioning bodies try to steal money from fighters like this. Every little thing is a reason for them to fine fighters. If they could fine them without a reason you know they would.

Vitali has like three career UDs, all his other wins are by tko or ko. He has the highest KO percentage rate in heavyweight history. So it’s safe to say this dude will hopefully get finished by Dr. Ironfist..

My question is, why is Klitch fighting him when this guy is 1-2 in his last 3. He has not beat anyone, and the two guys that beat him are better prospects. This may be why the sport is dying slowly, this would be like silva fighting a a 10-1 fighter who lost 1 of his only 2 fights against good competition.

if you look at that slap as just an action, that was friggin fast and klitschko didn’t even flinch befor impact. i call an upset here just on that clip alone. think the little guy sticks and moves the win. vitali will be off his game now which is good for anyone but himself.

I don’t follow boxing anymore, but I know enough to know that Klitschko was going to put a beating on Chisora before this happened, now that just gave Klitschko enough reason to really put a beating on him, Klitschko should toy with him for 9 to 10 rounds then knock him out, but I think it will be under 5 rounds, Klitschko by KO!
