AGE: demograpics=ads buying power of a particular market.
Stupid press can be like a rotten apple in a bag of good apples, it will spread and destroy all apples meaning if ppl think MMA is on a slope then possible trend of no longer following it will happen. The most coveted market has been males under 39. Spike with UFC was able to capitalize off of it after pro wrestling began to decline during the the end stages of WCW. Its about demographics and buying power. Those numbers he was droppn is true gold mines. Meltzer was an issue for pro wrestling too btw.

to the person who is clueless about what age has to do with ratings.
the ufc’s target audience is specifically men, but most especially younger men, they are not really attempting to target old people as an audience.
in other words, they are getting views from the audience that they are intending to attract, and the fact that older people , and females, watch other things while ufc is on, is sort of a gimme, but also does not really matter.
the ones they really are trying to draw in is younger men, on up to middle aged men.
