I think rampage was jones’s biggest test. Plus jones was afraid of rampage too. Machida and rashad will be destroyed by jones. Machida will probably go down in the first or second round. He cant be illusive when your opponent can reach you from across the ring.

Your point is irrelevent Rio_Warrior. Jones is a HW fighting at LHW? OK, fair enough. But then, Silva is a LHW fighting at MW, GSP is a MW fighting at WW, Maynard is a WW fighting at LW, etc. Frankie is the only top fighter that doesn’t really cut much if anything other than the HW division. Point is, if you can make weight, that’s your weight.

JDS said he might come down to 205 to challenge JBJ but that is all speculation. I would love to see that fight more than JDS vs Cain. However when Shogun beat Forrest that was a test for him in adapting to fighting taller, longer reach fighters. Also whenever Shogun gets a chance for revenge he does so with avengance. I predict Machida will give JBJ a great fight and he will prevail. Then JBJ may have to fight Shogun bc Rashad will get the next chance at the belt. Shogun will win and so will Machida. Then it will be Shogun vs Machida III and this will be the most epic fight of all!! But that one will be hard to choose a winner bc Machida & Shogun keep evolving!!!

wow you just named 4 of the 5 most recent former champions (excluding Bones, who is the current and Forrest, who would be crushed by JJ)… they are also probably 4 of the top 5 LHWs in the world. Jones has not yet beat Rashad or Lyoto, and until he’s done that, people can’t say he’s unbeatable. You are foolish if you think there are any other LHWs in the world who would be greater challenges than those 4. The only possible fighter I can think of might be Mousasi, but his wrestling defence is poor, so I think JJ would also dominate him. Machida and Rashad will be JJ’s biggest tests

There are clearly several other things that make him successful, but ya, his reach is ungodly. He’s still really young too. As he grows into his man body I’d like to see him move on up to HW and give JDS and Cain (or whoever is relevant at the time) a shot. Bottom line, no man is unbeatable and the longer he stays at LHW the harder it’s gonna get for his big ass to make that weight. He threw a few sloppy shots in the Rampage fight that would have gotten him hurt if page coulda closed the distance. Sooner or later a young natural 205er will clean his clock. But for now and probably the next several years, he’s the s*** at 205.

Jones is a freak show with super-human reach and a superb skillset. Machida will be finished quickly. Who’s next?
