Hopefully this will be the end of the crowed pleasing brawlers and bring more
talented fighters like Machida to the UFC’s lime-light.
The reason Dana’s not to happy with Machida’s title win is because it’s
obviously going to hurt his wallet in the long run – but in hindsight it will allow
the sport to progress.

right i dont understand why everyone is counting out shogun yes he is aggresive but he dosnt come straight at u he uses angles in his strikes unlike anyone that has fought lyoto and with his quickness as well i think he MAY beable to get the job done i really beleve it will come down to shogun cardio tho i hope it back to the quitly standards that he had when he fought in pride but if it not then i beleve lyoto will try nd take him out in the later rounds but like i said maybe shogun can catch him or even sub him on the ground it will be the great test for both of there careers at this point and i hope shogun wins as i am a fan but on the other side i will not be surpised or angry if lyoto beats him as i feel he is the best in the division at this cournt time but i am really pumped for this fight as stylistically the two match up really well in my opinion and i really just want to see if anyone can beat lyoto and i honestly do beleve shogun has the best chance but then again my vision may not be the same to a non shogun fan

Wow I just went to the UFC website and looked at the ufc 98 highlights, for the Machida vs Rashad section, they show Rashad landing those two overhand rights and machida landing a kick and two punches. Didn’t show Machida knock Rashad tfo or his domination of the fight at all. Me thinks dana and them are a little upset over rashad’s loss.

Machida fights are “boring” because the guys who fight him have watched all his fights and know that they don’t stand a chance on the ground, in a clinch or in a striking match so they stand back and wonder what the hell they got themselves into. I thought it was a very entertaining fight, I really do enjoy watching technical fighters, and machida has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Everybody in the LHW division is probably losing all hope in a title shot right now.
