You know he wanted to tell this obviously uninformed idiot to F off. Still trying to build it as a “blood sport”. He has surly never seen an event, ever. Log in to Reply Joe Dog October 11, 2013 Now, maybe Palhares and Daley can fight. Special rules: one 20 minute round, anything goes. Guy with the most cuts, broken bones and torn tendons loses. No ref needed, just post-fight doctors to tally the counts. If someone dies, fight continues to the end. Anyone up for the PPV? Log in to Reply shocktime October 11, 2013 I agree with Dana on this one. 3 strikes law baby. Paul Harris is a repeat offender. 1 time is a accident, 2 times it’s a coincidence, 3 times it’s intentional. Log in to Reply someone001 October 11, 2013 Or, they can settle it “the old Navy way.” First guy to die, loses. Log in to Reply Steve October 11, 2013 This has always been a hot topic for me and I have always wondered why the Honorable Royce Gracie has never been scrutinized by this. He was the absolute worst at not letting go of submissions. Several fights the ref had to rip him of people after several seconds. I appreciate what he has accomplished and done for the sport, but I have no respect for him as a fighter. Log in to Reply casyboy October 11, 2013 `i think phaleres was tyring to shift the blame.. at his after speech he kept pointing up !lol Log in to Reply jammyman October 11, 2013 I like Palhares but he is such an idiot to do this to his opponents. He does this in grappling tournaments and in sparring seesions as well. This guy needs mental help for whatever violent tendency he has. Log in to Reply Pdiddly October 11, 2013 When he was suspended last time for holding on too long, he was going to get off the hook… but then the organization looked at his long LONG past of unsportsmanlike conduct (ask ANYONE on the BJJ circuit) and let him go for 9 months.. Then the steroid abuse.. then this. Dude doesn’t realize this is a sport of honor. Look at the Pettis / Henderson submission. This is how men behave in the octagon. Log in to Reply mmafan11 October 11, 2013 Only the Ref can stop the fight and he did after the Ref jumped in PH released the hold, 3 secs total tops from when the Hold went FULL On to off. You don;t release just because your opponent Taps only when the Ref JUMPS In. Most Brazilian Gyms teach to hold on until stopped by the Ref. Pettis did more damage to Hendo than this. It’s Dana’s Master – Slave mentality. Time for a Fighter Union with equal Pay and Rights, Like the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. We want fair decisions not Dictatorships that take away someone’s Pay Check. Log in to Reply NotVinnieJones October 11, 2013 ^^^Jeezus, another clown crying around for a fighter’s union. If you want a fighters union so bad then go do something about it instead of crying around about it on the internet!! What does crying around about it accomplish? Nothing. Go make some phone calls, get some people together, get the wheels moving to start making it happen! Otherwise you just sound like a whiner, especially if it doesn’t affect you either way. Is having a union going to put more food on the table for you and your family? Or is it going to not affect you in any way at all? If it is, then go do something about it. If it isn’t then there isn’t any sense whining about it on the internet. As for Palhares…he screwed up one too many times, he got cut, case closed, onto next topic. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick October 11, 2013 @mmafan11 You don’t know what you’re talking about… Pettis released the hold the second Bendo verbally tapped. He released it before the ref even stepped in. I hate Dana White but this is the right call. Log in to Reply mmafan11 October 11, 2013 @KungFuLowKick…You don’t understand English, I said he did more DAMAGE not held on (Pettis), @NotVinnieJones…I’m a responsible Consumer & I stand up for the right thing… If someones beating an Animal to death down the Street as I drive by it won’t change my life to leave it as is, I stop and do the right thing. MMA Fighters are being exploited by ‘Dictators’ + Promoters who make Billions while paying Thousands to most MMA Fighters. Other Sports have found this UNACCEPTABLE and formed Players Unions for a Fair share of Revenues with Pensions, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB. So I do DO something about it like many people I don’t PAY for PPV I watch fights here or at Bars. Lastly I am organizing to some Fighters to form a Fighters Union for fairly split Revenues & Healthcare, here in Canada. So don’t be a Dumb-ass and a Dana Nut Hugger. Log in to Reply Karson October 11, 2013 mmafanright11 right with ya.. proud to see your one of the smart ones its not dana whites problem if at any time he doesn’t like a guy and wants to make up an excuse to cut him Lets make it his problem. kungfulow kick has no room to tell you not to bitch on the internet as he does the very thing he tells you not to do “bitches at you while on the internet.” nothing wrong with spreading social awareness to fans whether I agree with dana on this incident is beside the bigger picture which is a fighters union is a must. Dana makes a monopoloy corporation, takes out all the competition so fighters mostly have no choice but to fight in the ufc (the past 10 years) you can only compete in the ufc to excel.. then if he doesn’t like your personality can find an excuse to cut you and take away families livelyhoods. its wrong. we want fighters not politicians. randy couture, rampage Jackson, bj penn, fedor emilianenko, ken shamrock, frank shamrock, Jon fitch, and others as just a few.. they can’t all be wrong Log in to Reply Karson October 12, 2013 WANTED!!! MORE “CLOWNS” WHO HAVE THE BALLS TO NOT BE BOSS WORSHIP NUT LICKERS AND STAND UP TO THE MAN FOR FIGHTERS TO NOT BE POLITICIANS. if this is what a clown is, i’m in. Dumb ass fans will disagree, smart ones are for the unions. Log in to Reply bagboy October 12, 2013 I’m glad he’s cut. The guy is dumber than a stump. When the ref dives onto your legs and is frantic in his activity and you still continue the hold, you’re not too sharp. Here’s another fight where he did the same thing but even worse. Over-cranking a heel hook is a potentially career threatening move. It’s not an extra punch thrown in there (which is NOT cool either!). It’s a potential LOSS of a fighting career…all because a guy wants to be disrespectful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmNbb4stsY8 Log in to Reply bagboy October 12, 2013 And yet another fight in another promotion where he refuses to let go of a choke. This one is really nuts!! This guy just won’t quit doing this same crap. It’s not an isolated incident. How many times do you have to be told? I hope he never makes a dime in fighting ever again, because he’s a disgrace. Go to 2:00. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk3K-_rv6Fs Log in to Reply DrDoom October 12, 2013 @mmafan11 Dana made the right decision. You need to release a leg lock very quickly or a fighter can be put out for a long time or have his career ended. From a business perspective, the UFC needs healthy fighters to make money and Palhares unnecessarily threatens this. Palhares isn’t likely good enough to be a champion, so to the UFC, his behavior has made him more of a liability than an asset. Log in to Reply ericje13 October 12, 2013 @mmafan11 pahahaha! this guy is the biggest tool to ever comment on mmatko, and believe me, I’ve seen a lot of them! you sir take the cake lmfao! have fun accomplishing nothing with your retarded rants and Log in to Reply ericje13 October 12, 2013 ^ and your make believe organization of amateur fighters… tool bag, the end. Log in to Reply pEte October 12, 2013 mmafan11 – you’re a complete dick. Palhares has a long history of being a ruthless bastard. Look at when you phucked the foot of Tomasz DrWal – the ugly little bastard does not even go to apologize to Drwal who’s screaming in pain and then limping off the ring. Palhares is a psycho ****er on steroids (for which he was already caught). Log in to Reply YODA October 12, 2013 He did the same thing with Babalu, Dans has integrity. Log in to Reply NotVinnieJones October 12, 2013 Karson, you are right about one thing…you are definitely a clown. First of all, I never said I was against a fighter union. Someone claiming to be “smart” apparently assumed that I was despite the fact that no where on here have I made any anti-union rants. My point is, this guy got his walking papers, and someone goes into a pro-union rant about it on the internet. What does that accomplish? As far as stopping to help an animal getting beat…stopping to help is one thing…but just saying “animals shouldn’t get beat on” on the net is another. Lastly, speaking of “smart”, maybe people need to educate themselves a little. Fighters aren’t UFC employees, they are all independently contracted…no two fighters share the same contract. Employees can form a union but independent contractors can’t. The most independent contractors can do is form an association. There is an association presently, the MMAFA. I also believe that fighters are getting underpaid. I also believe that higher pay would bring about a higher class of fighter because I’m sure there are many talented athletes out there who pass on MMA simply because the chances of having a lucrative career in it is small. But I also see the futility of ranting abut it here in the comments section of MMATKO. Anyone here reading these comments is going to be an MMA fan and we already are aware of the issue of fighter pay. Why rant about it here? Its not going to change a thing. Log in to Reply Karson October 12, 2013 Not vine jones: I didn’t read ur whole comment. but if all you were doing was agreeing that this dude should be cut than I have no problems with that. guess it was the other guy who said there were clowns for just being in favor of fighters unions. anyway. didn’t mean to put you under an over-ranged umbrella. Just can’t stand others mocking fighters for wanting equal rights and fair treatment. as far as this guy..? yes I think its lame he holds on too long.. but in fairness I haven’t done much analysis of him either.
