Log in to Reply ericsson August 31, 2011 it was a million times better then philadelphia Log in to Reply T'Challa August 31, 2011 Take that, Canadians! Log in to Reply vinz August 31, 2011 @mesonta DAMN RIGHT! well, yes it was located in rio – and yes, it’s the birthplace of bjj – and yes, there might be a gracie…. BUT THAT’S NO EXCUSE FOR ALL THESE ANNOYING SPEECHES AFTER THE FIGHTS! Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE August 31, 2011 THats a live crowd for sure… its like they are all friends and all came to say the same thing lol @mesonto: stop crying cos they booded Log in to Reply jeff_figmb August 31, 2011 Shut up you idiots! Brazilians have way more heart and passion than we do for life in gerneral, which is why their crowds have a thousand times more energy than ours do. They bring that soccer energy into the UFC arena… Nothing but good things should be said about this. BRAZIL ROCKS!!… And by the way, my wife is Brazilian! haha Log in to Reply Shogun August 31, 2011 It was a soccer fan crowd! Log in to Reply J-Bone August 31, 2011 Ireland – P4P best crowd ever! Log in to Reply capz1020 August 31, 2011 I think what made it so great for them was Brazil vs the World (as they put it) attitude. The US crowd would go nuts too if they put all US born fighters against all Brazil or UK, it would give the audience a reason to cheer together. Right now its a divided crowd rooting for one fighter or the other. Log in to Reply Avengedlevis7x August 31, 2011 Awesome crowd but I think capz1020 has a good point! Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE August 31, 2011 THe thing about USA is that we are VERY disverse in culture, thats unlike any other country in the world…and theres nothing wrong with that, its actaully a great thing that we are so mixed…but other countries are not as diverse, so customs are uniform everywhere you go, like Brazil…its like a big family. Log in to Reply Doyle Brunson August 31, 2011 Sorry guys and girls but there were to many hooligans in that croud. 129 Toronto Canada was P4P best croud yet. Log in to Reply brucutu August 31, 2011 CAVERA!!!!!! Log in to Reply jeff_figmb August 31, 2011 I don’t think it was so much about our country vs theirs… It was more about their serious passion for the sport and how happy they were to see the UFC back in their home country again. It’s so good for the sport! The UFC is on it’s way to dominating the planet! Log in to Reply fernando August 31, 2011 I´m a brazilian and I was there. sorry guys but was amazing, it´s not just about brazil vs world or USA. I think was more 13 years waiting for an UFC and we put all this energy at the same time in the arena. 134 UFC´s in english and we boooed cause or fighters was talking in english, sorry but that day, the UFC official language was portuguese. americans crowd are different and doesn´t metter is they make an american vs the world, some americans like more anderson, nog, machida… then your american fighters. and YES, we have the soccer culture thats its made to sing, scream and push the players (fighters) all the time. Log in to Reply MMAGiantSilva August 31, 2011 I gotta agree with mesonta as soon as any fight hit the ground they booed and they booed anytime a non brazilian was in top position the whole time really disrespectful. They were loud and came out in herds to watch so pretty good i guess but not the best IMO. Log in to Reply ami August 31, 2011 If by “greatest” he means annoying, obnoxious, and impatient, then yes they were the “greatest.” Log in to Reply capz1020 August 31, 2011 Your right, having such great UFC fighters and not being able to see them in your home country would make for a wild reception on fight day. I’m going to UFC 135 in Denver next month and can’t wait! I will be screaming like you crazy Brazilians for that one haha Log in to Reply willienugget August 31, 2011 Rage Against the Machine Log in to Reply rob August 31, 2011 lol @ people argueing over who has the best crowd, just enjoy the show Log in to Reply JamesDET August 31, 2011 Whatever you idiots can argue yourselves dead (please) but that is the best crowd ever, what an amazing event. Log in to Reply leoneazevedo August 31, 2011 Brazilians rock baby! I’m Italian and I never saw anything like this in any MMA Matchs! I Know how to speak portuguese and I can tell you their sings on the arena felt like they were together with the fighters ready to fight on the octagon! THAT WAS ****IN AMAZING!!! CONGRATULATIONS BRAZILIANS!!! YOU REALLY ROCK!! Log in to Reply kano August 31, 2011 It’s all good, the event was great (thx bruno) Brazil is an awesome nation and they did start this whole thing (although Japan doesnt get enough credit imo..). But to be honest it did bug me, for example, how my BJJ teacher (who lives in the USA) was bragging about how “Brazil” won 10 of 11 fights (as he put it).. i didnt have the guts to tell him it was obviously set up this way by the UFC..which is fine by me…but if the USA had its best fighters there it would have been a different story. Maybe we should do a country vs country just to bring a little humility to Brazil. Its lame that Americans arent supposed to show pride, but it is ok for any other country. This is why as crazy and wrong as Chael is, he is the man!!!! USA! Log in to Reply Uncle_whoop_ya _ass August 31, 2011 blah blah blah . coolest thing about brazil is the girls .. the crowd was ok . but brazilians are pretty arogant race .best ever , please , dana just kissing ass . good fights tho. just saying . Log in to Reply snype6969 September 1, 2011 @ kano, im american. first of all chael was on steroids during that fight and thats why u havent seen him since. he cheated, and still ****in lost!!!! so u tell me who the best american fighter is at 185 that even has a prayer against anderson……. ill wait…….. Log in to Reply steamer September 1, 2011 @Kano I’ve always hated that double standard and it is very real. But in the words of Chris Rock, “sometimes people with the most shit, get to say the least shit”. That crowd was awesome. I remember watching the event and being amazed at the unity, support and love. The vibe. Awesome. Much respect. Congratulations on a great night Brazil. Log in to Reply Doyle Brunson September 1, 2011 Next time shogun fights hell get his ass kicked and then will follow the thousands of nut huggers with the exsact same excuse. “He wasnt 100% healthy” lol i call bullshit he was healthy for jones and griffin 1. Log in to Reply Andrenvser September 1, 2011 Of course they booed, if i was there i would do that too. Cant you see that’s a way to help the brazilian fighters?Cuz that make the other fighters unsecure Log in to Reply vsmoove September 1, 2011 Who said Brazil isn’t diverse? They’ve obviously never been there… the crowd was hype and I thought it odd that they booed whenever a Brazilian spoke English but I appreciate the pride that reflects… that’s fantastic to see. Via Brazil! Log in to Reply brasil.... September 1, 2011 Bring it on … Junior dos Santos x Brock ? Cmon Anderson x Chael ? Anderson all he wanted to prove on the first fight that he was a true BJJ black belt… Jose aldo x ??? Who ??? Cmonnnn be serious .. Vitor vs Rampage ??? Please we should do it… Anderson vs. Jones Aldo Vs GSP(CANADIAN) Cmon there are great american fighters but no way to compare… because anderson will murder gsp so we need to give him a better guy… Log in to Reply neto September 1, 2011 The Americans can´t loose anything. You guys have UFC all the time closes to july 4th, the independence day and do shit about it! let´s be honest, the event was great, lots of K.O. like an american likes. you are talking about the crownd was booing when they where on the ground. Hey *******, do you know what is the “B” before JJ? It´s BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU man. There are no problem to be on the ground!! They where screaming all the nogueiras fight : CHAO CHAO CHAO ( GROUND GROUND GROUND). Sorry but an american can´t handle if someone its better then him!!! Log in to Reply Dastardly_Dave September 1, 2011 Irish crowd by far beat these chumps Log in to Reply John Boss September 1, 2011 no wonder you seem surprised by the brazilian fever, you are clueless about their sport culture. Log in to Reply JJ September 2, 2011 I don’t know what’s White’s definition of “good crowd” – I was actually digusted with them chanting something like “kill him” or “kill them”, booing Nedkov after his win etc. Didn’t really like it, and hope next time more Brazilians will be chopped down although match making again will be made the way for Brazlians to win in Brazil.
