Dan Stittgen vs. Stephen Thompson Fight Video UFC 143 Prelim.
Nice roundhouse kick! faking low then kicked to face
Nice butterfly twist victory pose
I remember watching Wonderboy fight in Chuck Norris’ WCL. Glad to see him adapting fairly well so far to the MMA game.
Looked like some good ol fashioned Karate to me!
That kick reminded me a Feitosa.
Looked more like Tae Kwon Do to me, that completely side-ways stance, his hands at his side. Barring Machida karate, most Karate is flat footed and has you squared up with your opponent.
This kid, as flashy as that was, is going to have a rude awakening the moment he comes up a against someone who can tie him up. Just like Raymond Daniels.
I thought he did a butterfly Tebow for celebration.
Nice finish!!! Don’t know why Karate (or anything besides boxing, muay thai, wrestling, and jui-jitsu) is called unorthodox. The sport is called MIXED Martial Arts, meaning, bring whatever style you want. And nice job shutting Goldberg up …
His style wont work.
@Sunfish Hero: Wonderboy’s main strength is Kempo Karate, but he is also a very good grappler. He has been training BJJ with Carlos Machado for a long time. He has also trained with a bunch of the best wrestlers in the game (GSP, Rashad Evans, etc.). This kid doesn’t know how to lose and, although he is in a different league now, he can still bring some seriously entertaining fights to the UFC.
agreed sunfish, pretty sure it’s tae kwon do. He won’t last long
feitosa style….nice victory pose….samurai..
That is definatley Karate. Stephen is a blackbelt in Kempo Karate. He is not a Taekwondo fighter.
nice lil flip at the end lol…good ko also
Who are the nerds trying to break down his foot work.. “well he wasn’t flat footed because his foot actually bended when he moved, unlike the rest of us Lego people…” Stfu and know you are for real actually mentally retarded.
