Forrest has come a LONG way since this fight. he was so tentative about getting in close or throwing anything. It wasn’t until the 3rd round when threw 1 leg kick and a couple punches. When you look back at old fights like these its almost unbearable to watch compared to the skill level of the guys out there now. No way a guy like Severn (as good as he was back then to help get the sport to where it is) would survive more then 1 fight by just taking a guy down and not doing anything.

Well that ended exactly as I predicted in the first 30 seconds.
With Dan being that old back then and Forrest being that young, both were at a disadvantage.
Dan is and always will be a wrestler, his early days of the UFC allowed him to do ok, since back then a one demensional fighter could level up, but as Forrest has learned becoming todays UFC LHW Champion, you need to be well rounded to dominate, The face of MMA keeps changing and evolving so fast. The kids of today in the future will be fighting Machines like we’ve never seen them
