Yea the Brazilian needs to learn how to strike and wrestle before his next fights, Hendo was ready for the heel hook and defended it well, but i hope he realizes that the one heel attempt that was locked in pretty deep would have ended his carreer for at least 6 months with an acl tear if Palhares knew how the body works and if he would have just bent hendos leg and then twisted because when the leg is bent then the pressure would have built up at the knee, just ask Bas after funaki in pancrase he probably studied the heel like a mofo

This fight WAS exciting (unlike that Franklin/Hamill stinker!). Hendo looked like his ol’ self, or close to. Pali’s pretty good, and has a hell of a noggin to take those shots.

It was a BS match.. typical boring american fighters… the don’t really excel at much so it turn out to be boring…

When you get the Brazilian you get guys that either excel at striking or and grappling or both… Americans are just average at both.. hence it turns to a boring match.. look at Franklin-Hamill

Palhares is too buff if there is such a thing, some people cant cary that kind of weight and big biseps arent always good for punching…

That was a good fight imo. Henderson was very cautious and stuck with counters and a couple one-two’s that landed quite often. If the fight had gone another round or just a little longer it would have been a knock out.

Hendo dominating in what was an excellent match. The slam and the ankle lock were awesome by Patheres.

people say Leoto’s and Forest’s fights are boring as well. It seems so because they have gameplans and stick to them. Same here, Hendo did not want to grapple with the Brazilian and did all he could to stay on his feet. Hendo could not afford to lose so he fought a smart fight, you can’t blame him for that.
Palhares is a stacky submision machine. Not like that fake fat fuck Samoan Joe. He could submit Hendo easy. I also like his capoero kicks, impressive.

Round 1: Henderson looks intimidated. He passes several opportunities to K.O., or atleast do some serious damage when palhares throws slow high kicks with his hands down. We know hendo has good reflexes and accurate punches. So wtf? Hit him on the button, and stop back peddling. Round 2: Where the fuck are leg kicks? These are both trained MMA fighters. Right? Take away the legs, take away speed, balance, striking. Right? Henderson can knock out wanderlei at 205, a renowned aggressive striker, but he can’t K.O. a dance kicker/ankle biter at 185? I’m entertained by the fight, its a good fight, but I’m disappointed in Dan, this isn’t the old Dan. This is the OLD Dan. As in, old. It seems Hendo came in with a pure striking game plan, and palhares came in with a pure grappling/ground game plan, and they just were both on defense the whole fight. Bad match-up I guess?

Ok, I’m originally from Brazil. I think Palhares is a one dimensional fighter, with that in mind, I think is impossible to beat Hendo without more tools in your bag. I understand you might think this was a boring fight however a BJJ fighter against a wrestler is not that exciting. Whoever have a better standing game will win. I personally liked the fight but Hendo ran out of gas early and Palhares was not that exciting (Throwing himself in the floor). Now, the Pride champion Hendo wasn’t in this fight. The Pride champion Hendo would eat a one dimensional fighter for breakfast.

i wasted my money again with another lame ufc card….. with poor decisions, and rashad evans running all fight, i don’t know which is worse.. pride would have yellow carded evans’s whole purse away, for not fighting.. i would have gave him props if banged with liddell, and not ran the whole fight, and threw one luck punch.. i think i will skip the next 2 ufc’s and watch affliction… way more fights, more active fighters, and no BULLSHIT POLITICS!!!!
