Log in to Reply oaklandblackouts November 20, 2011 it’s hard to have a winner in this one. just a classic match of two vets that always go after it. shogun had so much damn heart. and hendo got that iron chin as usual. they bother winners to me… hell of a damn fight. speechless. this is goin in the books as one of the best wars Log in to Reply Tempted November 20, 2011 Simply amazing. I scored a draw personally. However if there was to be a winner I do think it was Hendo for the damage. I’ve got my concerns when Hendo takes on Bones. Log in to Reply vachy November 20, 2011 for me..shogun wins! Log in to Reply Dsrren November 20, 2011 I love Dan,,But he won two rounds. Log in to Reply murell November 20, 2011 Two great Warriors! too bad Hendo is 12 yrs older, or he would have finished Shogun, but props to Shogun he is an Awesome and classy Warrior! Log in to Reply murell November 20, 2011 They should give it to Hendo just for being 12 yrs older, come on guys Shogun is only 30,age does matter, lets see how good Shogun is at 41? Log in to Reply Mike November 20, 2011 Closest thing I’ve seen to a Pride fight in a while — remind me of why I liked Pride and how I hate when guys avoid really fighting. Hendo & Shogun = Both Warriors. Thank you guys for a great fight. Log in to Reply YodaSangklai November 20, 2011 Agree with Dana on this one, it should be a draw. Log in to Reply UGjoinDATEmeansNOTHING November 20, 2011 ^^^^What the F does that mean? You are a ****ing moron!! Where are you from? The USA gives more in aid too other nations then any other country on earth! People from other nations flock to the USA,in order to have a better life and flee the shit hole that i’m sure you hail from. GREAT FIGHT!! HENDERSON and RUA are two great fighters!! Log in to Reply walket6678 November 20, 2011 Two of the toughest sum bitches’ on the planet. I saw it as a draw. Unanimous? No way. Log in to Reply Rio_Warrior November 20, 2011 Bullshit Decision, clearly Shogun won or should have been called a draw. Rematch on pride rules so we can see shogun stomping hendo’s head. 5th round total rape by shogun: multiple mounts + gnp + takedowns. The fight was in the US prety normal for the judges to give the win for the home fighter, shogun did NOT lost this fight. By the way the UFC hendo is better than the pride hendo, if they met 5 years ago hendo would have been spanked. Hendo is some sort of Benjamin Franklyn lol. Log in to Reply @mma November 20, 2011 Epic fight! Glad the Bay Area hosted this one. Log in to Reply dag November 20, 2011 This will go down as one of the top 5 fights of all time! Log in to Reply brazil November 20, 2011 Awesome fight. Feel sorry for shogun’s lost, but he was a warrior, who could get out from that punches alive ? He showed heart. A rematch would be cool, but I think, the plans are Henderson vs Jones, and from that one Henderson has no change, he would be killed by a twice strong, fast and more talented Jones. Log in to Reply ymbsnakeeye November 20, 2011 @ViciousKO Shogun can punch well… he has great accuracy but he was so hurt his technique went out the window. Henderson has never had good punching technique. You kind of don’t need that good of technique when you cant be knocked out and you punch like a damn truck. Log in to Reply vealchop November 20, 2011 To the guy who had it 31-26 after 3 and 48-47 after five, which rounds did you give Hendo and Shogun an 11? Log in to Reply Klopper November 21, 2011 Great fight… DRAW. Like many others, I had Hendo 10-9 for the first three, and Shogun 10-9 and 10-8. How can you not score the last round 10-8 Shogun?? Complete domination. It should have been a draw and we should have gotten a rematch. Log in to Reply PeterParker November 21, 2011 Wow Joe had to help hold him up. Log in to Reply PeterParker November 21, 2011 Those two men have a bond I will tell you that. They went through a war together. Log in to Reply ness2k November 21, 2011 Rematch! Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE November 21, 2011 Shogun has the heart of a lion, JEsus Christ, thats one tough SOB…Henderson just ran out of gas, but SHogun took a severe beating and came back to return it all… should of been a draw, and we definitely need a rematch. Log in to Reply cigronne November 21, 2011 C’mon guys, Hendo won the fight hands down since the first 3 rounds were definitely his. The confusion comes due to Shogun ended up the fight in a better shape winning the last 2, while Hendo gassed dramatically and was on the verge of getting finished, but overall he won for sure. Log in to Reply mmafan November 21, 2011 Great fight and another dismal showing of the judging system. I guess since the last round was 10-9 according to the moron judges, that essentially implies that Hendo did 90% as well as Shogun did on that round. Yeah right…we live in a world replete with morons full of moronic ways of doing things. Log in to Reply bigtigger November 21, 2011 Great fight, Rematch indeed.*0 Log in to Reply bernie November 21, 2011 epic Log in to Reply Sans November 22, 2011 I can’t see how anyone would score the fifth round 10-8. There’s no doubt that Shogun was winning handily, but Dan was simply exhausted. Even with nothing left in the tank, he didn’t seem to sustain any damage from the Shogun’s weak ground and pound. Compare that to the damaging barrage of hits from Hendo throughout most of the fight. Hell, he was tagging Shogun with powerful shots up until half way through the fourth. Then he had nothing left, and he looked like he was in serious trouble in the second half. After that it was a fight of the zombies. I really am amazed at the heart of both fighters, but round five was nothing but a 10-9 round, and Henderson definitely won. Log in to Reply incognito November 22, 2011 I personally thought the match was a draw. It is true that Hendo won the first three rounds, but I don’t think that you can credit any of those rounds as a 10-8 round. His most dominant was the third round but even then Rua tried to pull off a submission. That meant Rua had some offense. Rua, on the other hand, had the fifth round as 10-8 decisively. Maybe the judges were just too hesitant to pull out the 10-8 round just like what they did with Penn and Fitch. If you look at it, Penn won the first 2 rounds and Fitch dominated the last. Rua dominated Hendo in the same way, regardless of the fact that both men were tired. I believe they’re going to make this happen again. It all depends on how the rest of the fighters in the division stack up. A rematch between Rua and Rampage may be perfect and Hendo needs a shot at another top-tier light heavyweight. Give him Rashad and that would determine the top contender after the Machida-Jones fight. Nevertheless, I believe this was one of the best cards top to bottom in a long time. Props to two legends of the sport! Log in to Reply agent002 November 22, 2011 i loved it… Log in to Reply Benjamin November 22, 2011 Bad decision. Rua won the fight. He fought back against Henderson’s big hits in the 1st and 2nd rounds and Henderson was non-existent after the 3rd round. Bad decision. Log in to Reply Scott November 22, 2011 I definitely don’t call that epic. The last two rounds were like two drunk men fighting, both too drunk to do any damage. An embarassment to sports. Log in to Reply gorillajoe November 23, 2011 If they can’t give Fitch-Penn round 3 a 10-8, why give Hendo-Rua 10-8. Rua was dominat but did not deliver enough damage. Fitch delivered more dmage to Penn. Log in to Reply « Older Comments Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
