Horrible decision. Davis controlled most of the fight and was more aggressive. Close fight but Davis all the way

This was a good fight; I really expected Davis to have an advantage punching, but it seems that Hardy has some real power behind those fists.

It is kind of sad that the judges likely scored this fight on damage over control, or Davis would have won. His face lost him the fight.

thought davis won. Close fight tho. Davis had a lot more contol and even when hardy had him on the ground, davis was still doin damage. The judges gave it to hardy for the big knee and the cut

Disappointing why? Because Marcus did not taste sweet sweet revenge like they do in the movies? Take away all the trash talk and hype. Pretend both these guys came into the fight as usual. I think you would be happy and realize you just saw a great fight. And it was a great fight.

I don’t know what fight you were watching. That was a very close fight that had about everything. Mui Tai, Wrestling, Boxing, Knee bars, Heel hooks, triangle attempts, arm bar attempts, etc., Two guys fighting their butts off – whats not to like. I didn’t like the decision – I thought Marcus won the 2nd round despite the early knockdown. He was far more active the rest of the round…

Im not English, or American. So coming at this through an unbiased opinion.
Look at the damage, the strikes, rocked him several times, If you think Davis won this fight, you clearly did not watch it close enough.

This fight is a classic example of how we don’t know what the judging criteria really is or should be. Is it damage? Octagon control? top control? submission attempts? More significant strikes? The 10-point must boxing system really needs to go.

Damn good fight, but a very bad decision. Hardy proved his point though….he stood in there with one of the best at his weight and honestly delivered more damage than he took. Only reason I give to Marcus on this is because he controlled the pace.

Wtf Hardy took davis to school? what fight were you watching? Yeah hardy got some clean shots in, but the first round was davis all the way, when davis was taken down he landed some nice shots from the bottom, and he knocked hardy down in the last round. I’d say davis 29-28 but I think the judges gave hardy the last round because of that one elbow. I’m definitely going to tune in for the rematch

Dan Hardy did a great job, but I think Marcus should have won. Marcus advanced on Dan the whole fight, which is exactly what Dan wanted when he was talking shit. Dan Hardy clearly has more diverse striking. Marcus Davis landed some shots of his own though dropping Dan once and then again on the beginning of round 3. On the ground though, Marcus’ superior wrestling allowed him to control Dan well throughout the fight threatening several submissions. Hardy’s thai clench knee in round 2 was impressive, probably what got him the round even if it wasn’t enough in my book. Marcus recovered quick and elbowed Hardy’s head from guard.

Davies was controling the bout and landed more punches, controlled the fight in every aspect. Just because Hardy was lucky enough to land some punches shouldent resolve in winning the game.

Close fight. I think Davis should have won, or at least got a draw. I believe it was the fact that Hardy rocked him a couple times that realy stains the mind of the judges. It always looks more impressive to drop someone than to control the ground game for a round. Not a bad fight, I still think it was judged wrong.

What a great fight, Davis earnt his respect but Hardy showed he was the better fighter. Ok so maybe Davis had the control but he couldnt do anything with it so damage has to be the deciding factor in a fight that is so close.

I just watched this fight for the second time and Hardy CLEARLY won that fight. The only round he may have lost was the second. He outclassed Davis on the ground and on the feet. Excellent decision by the judges.

round 1 – winner Marcus davis. controlled all but the last minute. and the round ending flurry by Hardy was great and a strong way to end but wasnt enough to give him the round.

round 2 – winner Hardy. got the better of the exchanges and had a definitive knock-down.after which he controlled marcus on the ground. yes marcus was working off his back very well and attempted arm bar. but an attempted arm bar is like an attempted shit. no clean up necessary. was not enough to give marcus davis any kind of chance at stealing the round. it was hardys round to lose after the knock-down and he didn’t.

Round 3 – Hardy. as with all the rounds it was hellishly competative. marcus on top, dan on top. whilst on top Dan did a lot more in a dominant position. causing a lot of damage with that elbow and sealed the end of the round by getting the better of the stand up (though i realise it wasnt exactly a wanderlei franklin style ending). hardy won that round clear as day.

i cant belive some people are arguing that hardy won the first round and marcus the second. totally baffled.

First off thanks Bruno I really enjoyed the fight thanks man I had to miss the PPV :’(

Well here’s how I scored the fight (This is just my humble opinion guys)

1st Round Davis 10-9
He controlled the fight was on top of Hardy wearing him out and landed some pretty good strikes from the ground. Besides that HUGE punch Hardy landed he really didn’t do much

2nd Round Hardy 19-19
This one goes pretty much without saying. It was a very even round, up until of course the VICIOUS knee that Davis ate. Hardy controlled on the ground fairly well and won the round. Although, a case could defenitely be made for Davis it seemed he landed cleaner, and more often he also landed a pair of NICE punches towards the end of the round

3rd Round WOW! IMHO it’s a draw 28-28
Davis controlled the better part of the round, and was very active even while of his back. He landed clean strikes, but he ate a brutal elbow while on the bottom and got bloodied up. It really is too close to call, and I would hate to be a judge, but if I was I would give it to Davis. Landed more often, controlled on the ground, took Hardy down a few times. I think Hardy landed one TRULY significant strike each round, while Davis was ALL over him for the rest of the bout.

AMAZING fight, hopefully there’s a rematch
