LOL! That guy vs. Frank Shamrock? You’ve got to be kidding me. I checked Wikipedia and apparently he is actually fighting him, despite the fact that he sucks and is only 20 lbs below Shamrock. Expect Shamrock vs Cesar Gracie pt.2

Cung is fun to watch because of his kicks and stuff but he doesn’t seem like an all around solid fighter but he made sam look like a retard.

cung le is all hype!! he wont last against a top middle weight fighter like shamrock, silva, lawler, franklin linland and other top ranked middle weights!… he has only faced 3rd class fighters! he is a 2nd rate fighter..hhaha

Cung Le owns 3 ranges of the fight, but is mediocre in the forth (but almost as important as the other 3)

1) Long range, his kick are fast, acurate, and powerful, and he kicks from many angles, very hard to predict and block. He can keep opponents at bay. His long range defense is good too, but I have yet to see anyone kick him from far. His kicks are faster so he can stop-hit the other guys attempts, and for sure Cung Le has good defense.

2) Mid range, his punches are good, but they ussually just setup for kicks. But where he is awesome, is his punch defense, the opponent will throw like 30-50 punches the whole game, but only 5 will land.

3) Close range, throw game, Cung Le’s fame comes from this area, it totally stops all atks on him, and only the absolute best can throw him or avoid his throws. This range he will most likely win. His throw defense is good, but you can’t really tell, because his off. throws win too many times.

4) Ground game, pound and submission, I didn’t see him have. if he was good, he could have ended the fight in round 1, but he didn’t and made the fight more entertaining. He ground is mediocre, and that is only because he’s always in the advantage position. If he was in the worst position, I dunno. Getting him in a bad position though, is tough cause he owns the other 3 ranges. But as a cung le fan, I was disappointed. Especially since in Viet Kung Fu, there are lots of submission/breaking of joints. ( Viets love it, because we’re small and grapling submission gives small people a much bigger chance of winning.

To Beat CUNG LE: You have to submit or knock him out early, because if it went to decision, he will mostlikely beat his opponent on points. I say early, because if it dragged out, his oppenent will get too tiried to mount a good offense. Unless his oppenent can stop cung’s kicks, they will most likely be gassed from body kicks and the harder breadthing.

Because the fight starts standing, cung le, is a bottom tier 1 guy, a top 10 fighter.

If it started on the ground, he’s a bottom tier 2.

But you can’t stop talent. Talented people learn, adjust and get better. Just as much as he needs to learn the ground game, his opponents need to learn better standup. You have to think tho, standing up he has one of the best chances against anderson silva, and anderson’s long length is more susceptible to throws, it would be a great fight in K1, like RYU vs SAGAT.

I agree with Henry! Cung Le is awesome. Don’t hate on Cung Le’s ground game… it’s just has not been tested. Why? See “Henry # 1-3″ Cung loves to put on a show, this was in his home town. FYI: Cung trains with Shamrock, he trains in BJJ, and was a colligate wrestler. I would like to see him face more notable fighters – but thats already in the works.

i wouldn’t go as far as ‘YO MAMA’ did. but i don’t think frank has looked as good as he usually is lately.
i mean. two years ago, i would say he was the best fighter in the world. but he hasn’t impressed me lately.

I think he’s a great fighter but he doesn’t have what it takes to beat Anderson Silva. Anderson is to much of a well rounded fighter, but with all of Cung Le’s kicks and offense it’ll be a great fight!!!
