chuck in his prime was a monster. he took all comers around the world (IVC, PRIDE, UFWhatever) but i have seen enough of him looking old and frail in the cage. he should be happy to have been handed an office job, rather than end up like jens pulver or gary goodridge.

In his last fight against Franklin, he didn’t look old or frail at all. At least to me. I thought he looked as good as ever. It’s just that chin. He can’t take the punches anymore. His skills looked sharp. He was quick, he connected. He kicked hard enough to break Franklin’s arm. He just simply cannot afford to take another shot.

liddell the best lhw of his generation? lol he has just like franklin king of the ufc scrubs when pride had all the talent. he got destroyed in the 2nd rnd of the pride lhw tourney by a guy who got destroyed by the eventual winner. tito,liddellor couture would have never been champs in pride at lh. an his new job is supposed 2 be dealing with press and fans it looks like he sucks at hard, he comes across as a complete douche

@Dusty your exactly right. That’s how I see it too. His conditioning seemed fine, his skills and timing and strikes were all there, but if I remember correctly Franklin hit him with a really weak looking punch and it put him down hard. He has no chin anymore.

Sometimes I don’t why I read the comments! The question was posed as a “What if”. Of course he isn’t coming out of retirement to fight anyone, he was just asked if he was given the chance to fight again who would it be.

I think chuck would still be kicking ass in the octagon today if his chin wasn’t gone.
The Rashad Evans fight KO took whatever chin he had left, his last fight with Franklin he was KO by what seemed like an unimpressive punch

Anyway, Wandy was better in his prime. Chuck fought for Americas primer fight organization, therefore more well know and popular in America.
