Chuck Liddell is over. If he can’t beet Jarhead his fighting day are numbered. I just don’t see how Jardine could beat Chuck’s ass like that. Good fight to watch though.

Why isn’t anyone talking about Houston Alexander?? Shouldn’t he have been the one fighting Liddell in this fight. He beat Jardine silly and reduced him into a kid on the playground. I have a feeling he’s not as marketable as the rest of these guys. . .a bit too raw. . .he’s scary. Can’t wait to see how he does in his next fight.

Nobody is afraid of Chuck anymore…Jardine was giving him some of his own medicine plus some nice kicks.

Chuck start the 1st round very aggressive but once he began to get punched and kicked, he seemed tentative…

I knew Jardine was going to win. (Sorry guys) Chuck is old, not really ‘hungry’ for glory anymore, so it makes sense that Jardine would get in harm’s way to inflict strikes. He has something to prove; Chuck doesn’t.

I think that Griffin could take it to Chuck as well, but given the choice, I would love to see a Liddell / Arlovski fight.

the reason alexander wasn’t given this fight is because jardine took him lightly and so most considered it a fluke as well as that aforementioned fact. most figured it was just an upset until he won at ufc 75 as well. now he will probably get a bigger fight.

benjo Says, in 9-25-2007 at 18:12:31 from 86.7.70.227

chuck was doing alright in the first round, he was composed about it, but them leg kicks were wearing him down and he wasnt as willing to go in for the combo’s, he was relying on the one hit wonder too much. that tactic works when you fight a person who plants themself right in front of you but jardine is not really normal in the way he fights, his hands sway and his head bores in. chuck usually waits for them to come in for the punch and unleash that big counter which he just couldnt do against jardine because by the end of the swing jardines head was already up against chucks chest. sad loss for chuck but im sure he will come back and get a few w’s

Bull Dog Says, in 9-25-2007 at 22:21:16 from 71.219.153.31

Liddell needs a ground game to compete with this generation of fighters. He could have beat Jardine if he took him down during those leg kicks.

If a rematch is in the future I would beat on Liddell.

What a good fight. Hat off to Jardine.

chuck won’t win too many more fights…he relies too much on a one punch knockout and with the fighters being so well rounded now… the sport has passed him by, bcuz if he doesn’t land that magic punch he gets beat and he will keep getting beat.also to that idiot who said the is fixed haha what a frikin retard…oh yeah i’m sure guys who train year round r gonna just throw a fight…r who for what???what an idiot!!!

Thegr8Rasuli Says, in 10-1-2007 at 19:22:17 from 67.169.20.151

No one is going to fix a fight by eating those kicks all night.

I guess you people who believe Chuck threw the fight don’t have much confidence in his integrity or his work ethic. You are basically calling him a cheater which also means he is a liar.

He looked bad in there with Jardine, real bad. But at least he did not get knocked out again. It is hard for a fighter after being knocked out to stand and fight in the same way. Chuck doesn’t feel invincible anymore and he is no longer going to be able to fight that way.

The bottom line is that anyone who took the leg kicks that Liddell took in that fight should have gone down from the body shots alone. No one is going to fix a fight by eating those kicks all night.

Chuck made $500,000.00 for this fight. What would be his motivation to fix a fight against a fighter who was only paid $14,000.00 for the fight?

He has a fight scheduled for I believe Nov. with Wanderleigh Silva. This loss puts that fight in jeoporady and may well affect his cut of the purse.

There is no way that Chuck threw that fight. He fought a very determined and difficult fight style in Keith Jardine. Styles make fights and this fight supported that. Chuck has gaps in his game just like any fighter and they were exposed in this fight. For you guys that have never fought or competed at a level like this, save it. Nobody that works this hard and has the integrity of 99% of us would ever even consider not giving it their all. Chuck deserves to be listed as one of the elite in this sport.

Jardine ducks his head everytime he comes in with punches. If Chuck was smart he would have timed him for a good counter uppercut. He realized later in the first but he wasn’t able to execute. Give Jardine credit though he’s won some good fights despite his loss prior to this fight.

chuck is that good but so is Jardine. these are 2 elite fighters at the top of the game. A win for either fighter puts there life on the great path, who would want to throw that away. Who ever thinks chuck threw this fight has failed or will fail there whole lives everyone around you is use to the nay saying keep up the good work.

I don’t know why Wanderlei Silva was shaking his head or the crowd booed (at the end) because I thought this was a very exciting stand up fight as Keith Jardine beat Chuck Liddell at his own game! It’ll be interesting to see where this takes Jardine and I predict Silva will beat Liddell as long as he comes prepared. I used to be a huge Liddell fan so it sucks to see him lose like this but hopefully The Iceman will come back someday and congratulations Keith Jardine! On another note, Couture would pwn any of those 2 guys (not to mention Fedor) and Silva so it’s too bad he retired already..

Mike Says, in 10-15-2007 at 17:55:13 from 64.12.116.66

I was surprised Jardine defeated Chuck Lidell. I was thinking if was a close fight, as Chuck did also knock Jardine down in the 2nd briefly, but Jardine definitely took the 2nd round by the punch that knocked Chuck down, and he overall landed more shots. The 1st round I give to Chuck. The 3rd round I think is the closest round and was kind of even, maybe slightly in Jardines favor. I wish Jardine well, and Chuck well also. Chuck must be feeling like crap now, having lost his belt to Rampage, and now having lost to an “Ultimage Fighter” alumni. Jardine is the real deal it appears, since he did knock out Forrest Griffin, and now he beat Lidell. Amazing. I love Diego Sanchez, I can’t stand Josh Koscheck, and I hope Diego beats him to a pulp like he did on the reality show. I can’t believe Diego lost a decision to Josh the Boring Blanket Koscheck. Turns out Diego had a staph infection that night or something.

For all the weapons in Chuck’s arsonal (kickboxing and wrestling), he’s only ever relied on his one-punch power. That, coupled with his limited mobility, lousy conditioning, and poor technique, I’m actually surprised he was on top for as long as he was.

Unless he’s willing to make radical changes to his training, I think Chuck needs to retire.

I would challenge anyone to get punched and kicked like that and still continue fighting. Hats off to Jardine he was the better man that night. Liddell beats Wanderlie Silva cause thats the fight he has wanted for ever, and is still one of the best lightheavy guys out there!!

Steven Says, in 10-30-2007 at 17:48:38 from 24.57.25.128

who ever said that Chuck Liddell should retire should go get fucked.. the guys thirty seven, hes still got several fights left in him, Randy Couture became Heavy Weight Champion at the age of 44-45 and chuck defeated him twice when couture was younger, i am positive chuck still has the potential and motivation to become champion again, i think he needed these two loses so he could get fired up and begin knocking out his oponents again….

chuck is still a great fighter. but he just got too predictable. he got use too his one punch knock outs, and just totally forgot how use his kicks. i’m sure he’ll rethink his fighting style now and be on top again. hope for a great striking war with wanderlai.

I remember seeing Chuck in a Vale Tudo International match in Brazil a while back. He was throwing elbows and headbutts with reckless abandon and eating a few himself. A confident and hungry Chuck is still a dangerous light heavyweight. Very tough for anybody to match Wanderlie’s intensity though,Chuck better be pumped for this one.

Thanks very much for all the fight vids we are way too behind on UFC videos in Australia.

great fight.
1st round liddell 10-8
2nd round jardine 10-8
3rd round jardine 10-9 or even 10-8 as chuck was limping so bad that he seemed no longer a threat.

even though jardine lost the 1st round he started the leg damage. although liddell has a swagger anyway i could clarly see hiim limping
in the 2nd round and really stiff and immobile in the third

28-26 jardine
