I think Chris is good, but you will see Silva’s experience come through on Saturday night. Throw was a judo throw

Weidman has always been a very impressive fighter. But I still think his +250 betting line is fair he will most likely not win.

weidman greatest strength is he seems to remain very calm at all times. i could say that is andersons greatest strength as well. was prime fedors as well. jack nicklaus, roger federer, babe ruth etc etc.

basically that is why most loser athletes always mention the mental game etc and how sports or their sport is 90% mental yada yada. they mention this because this is the last skill they are trying to gain control over and what keeps them from achieving mega-greatness

trust me there are many better athletes(or players) than all I mentioned above but they lack the ability to remain calm and think(or not think) under pressure. you are also born with this skill. so sorry to all who lack it but that’s life. like cowboy cerrone needing a psychologist… it will not help

Marvelous my thoughts EXACTLY! If Chris can obviously avoid the killer KO weapons like vitor got caught with and keep his composure it could be a very interesting fight. Chris should try and grind it out like sonnen did, if anyone tries to get all cute and fancy with the spider they gonna end up KO’d !!!!!!

LoL at Wcoastassasin calling that a Judo throw.A lat toss, lat drop, over under is one of the first throws you learn in wrestling. They are Gi-less and Weidman has wrestled his whole life…but ya…tell us more about how it was a judo throw please.

What a beautiful throw! Weidman has impressed me a lot in every fight that I’ve seen him in. Silva’s a genius when it comes to Muay Thai but, while I certainly don’t mean to deride his ground game, he’ll be a significant disadvantage if it goes that way. Weidman’s takedowns are superb and he is creative n explosive with his submissions n ground n pound. He’s quite a bit like Chael in certain respects, but has a much better finishing game. I even saw Chael say that, while he was never afraid to fight Silva, he was afraid that Joe n Dana would match him up with Chris Weidman. Can’t wait for this! Actually, I can wait. My plans for the 4th are gonna be off the hook :)

JoeS- I am philosophizing for the most part but my experience in sports and other things{people, teachers, coaches etc) helped me get here. I could be more specific but I don’t want to sound like an ego-maniac.

It is also a judo throw. Google for “Ura nage”.
