Hopefully not a career ender or a permanent injury. That was nasty. Log in to Reply inorganic December 29, 2013 WOW. this was very sad to watch, poor anderson. Weidman wins by luck for a second time in a row…boy should play the lotto. Log in to Reply mmalove December 29, 2013 daaammn…Weidman is no joke! GOAT! Log in to Reply wtf December 29, 2013 Wow. WTF. Log in to Reply coutura December 29, 2013 he needs to retire now Log in to Reply Ludog December 29, 2013 to inorganic: Man did u even watch the fight? No luck involved man, Weidman was kicking his ass bad. Unfortunate way to end, but he most likely would have lost either way Log in to Reply wow December 29, 2013 Well boys, I think we just witnessed a piece of history right here. Anderson Silva’s career ended single handedly by one man, Chris Weidman. Log in to Reply lllibbbo December 29, 2013 this is the saddest moment of all my UFC experience. Log in to Reply Wink December 29, 2013 inorganic, why do you say Weidman won by luck 2 times in a row? he was pounding the former champ through the first rd. am i missing something? Log in to Reply compcast December 29, 2013 ala corey hill Log in to Reply Cody December 29, 2013 Let’s not forget that Weidman won the first round, inorganic.. Not to say it was a microcosm of the rest of the fight to come, but give the guy a break. He was the better fighter both fights. He will probably always be the Rodney Dangerfield of the middleweight division until he beats him a third time… Maybe Andersons big head hurt him more than he’d have thought. Log in to Reply lefthooklarry December 29, 2013 inorganic – like it or not. The check was no accident. Weidman took one of the strong suits of Silva and countered it with checks. He had Silva’s eyes rolling back in his head the first round. Weidman had Silva’s number form the first fight and had his number on the second fight. Ugly win – yes, but you have to look at the strategy, techniques and game plan. It resulted in a win. IMO – Weidman had Silva’s number. They could fight 3, 4, 5 more times and the outcome would be Weidman. A fighter only has so many fights in them. I am hoping Weidman does what all the champs ONLY talked about – a Superfight – Bring on Jones! Log in to Reply straightAhead December 29, 2013 Say what you want but Anderson was looking slower than usual in his standup. Maybe Weidman is that fast, but i doubt it since Anderson is pushing 40. His time is up. If his speed is gone things are pretty much done for him since his wrestling is not on the world class level that his speed and striking were. Whatever the case there is no real comeback post 40. He may as well hang up the gloves and milk that endorsement and seminar circuit for all its worth. Log in to Reply darkman December 29, 2013 USA > Brazil! Anderson Silva came in again cocky as ever. Weidman kept his mouth shut and was prepared for anything the spider might throw at him including leg kicks. Great game plan. Props to Weidman to finally bring some noteriety to fighters from the USA. Brazilian MMA fighters are on notice that USA fighters are as good if not better!!! Log in to Reply Scott December 29, 2013 Is there any chance you have a longer gif Bruno? If you have it where Anderson drops to the ground and Weidman goes for the kill and decides against it would be great. Thanks Bruno your site rocks. Bruno: Soon Log in to Reply mmateaser December 29, 2013 Noooo….why did it have to end like this…he’ll never be the same again. Don’t celebrate, he freak’n broke his leg! Doesn’t mean he lost by submission or KO. He’ll be back! He still has 10 more fights left on his contract! Log in to Reply jerk001 December 29, 2013 biggest wtf moment of the year Log in to Reply Dave-O December 29, 2013 I have been a huge fan of Anderson Silva for a very long time. I expected him to win tonight, but call it what it is…a definitive and legitimate win for Chris Weidman, and a sad end to a great career. Log in to Reply Dan Blankenship December 29, 2013 I never doubted Weidman would win!!!!! Log in to Reply BackFlip December 29, 2013 1. Weidman announced after fight 1, that he was going to check Silva’s leg kicks. We know what happens when you check a hard kick like that. Silva lost by not paying attention. 2. Silva no longer can even walk at world class level, yet fight. Put a fork in it, he’s done. No super fights. No Roy Jones. Done. He’ll be in his mid 40s before that leg can even be tested again. Log in to Reply Dan Blankenship December 29, 2013 Weidman dominated the WHOLE fight! Silva couldn’t beat Silva on his best day! Log in to Reply darkman December 29, 2013 Sad for any fighter to lose via injury, especially on so horrific. Silva should have been more prepared instead of executing the same game plan minus the taunting. Seems like he did in training camp for this fight is just concentrating on not fooling around. Log in to Reply FailSonnen December 29, 2013 @Darkman: Only douchebags like you bring nationality in things like this. A true fan doesn’t care where the fighter is from.. Whoa who brought the *******!!! Log in to Reply darkman December 29, 2013 Lol@failsonnen then why do fighters bring it up? The fighters must be douches then wait g their flags and wearing them on their trunks. Funny. Proud the US has great fighters. So what? Yes a great fighter is a great fighter but he still represents the country where he is from. Log in to Reply inorganic December 29, 2013 @Wink & Ludog – Weidman won the first round, but to say he dominated it is an overstatement. For a top class wrestler/ground & pounder i felt Weidman’s best efforts were muted. It’s on par with a greek tragedy that the question of how a fight would end between a serious Anderson & Weidman will never be answered. I think all real MMA fans (even the Silva haters) have to be saddened by his career’s end. Log in to Reply HA HA December 29, 2013 Everyone is in SERIOUS DENIAL if you thought that Silva was close to winning that fight. From START to FINISH he lost. Im sorry WEIDMAN BLOCKED A LEG KICK and TRAINED FOR IT FROM THE FIRST FIGHT. HE GOT HIS WORKED from the first to the second fight. ROCKED AND DROPPED THE FIRST ROUND and almost got TKO’D. Im tired of the silva denial fans. HE GOT HIS A S S KICKED BOTH FIGHTS. He had an amazing run. It’s the END. SORRY HATERS. Log in to Reply Weidman Dominated December 29, 2013 Kick-Checking is a valid defensive technique that hurts the leg of the kicker. You can’t call any intentional tactic, like Kick-Checking, that wins you the fight “luck” and pretend it had no skill. Weidman won by an awesome and smart tactic. After the first fight he announced that he would check Silva’s kicks because Silva was kicking so hard. Just put your knee on the kickers shin, and he will hurt his own leg. Log in to Reply Joker December 29, 2013 This is y u check leg kicks gentleman. Not a fluke win. Log in to Reply ETK December 29, 2013 My eyes are acting funky. When I look at the gif, from the first angle, it looks like the break isn’t even on the point of impact. Log in to Reply PAPABear December 29, 2013 Weidman is one lucky man…again!!! Lets see how long he holds on to the title….. Log in to Reply FailSonnen December 29, 2013 Lol@failsonnen then why do fighters bring it up? The people buy the stuff that Anderson endorses and that stuff is marketed to those people in Brazil. Money is always involved don’t be naive. They are making MONEY. WHO is paying YOU for being a nationalistic fangirl?? No one. So you’re the bigger idiot here because at least they are getting money and you just sit here with your dick in your hand… Log in to Reply Cromagnonman December 29, 2013 This fight was obviously fixed. Log in to Reply paddedummy January 1, 2014 FailSonnen = Race traitor POS! It’s now official, out of Fedor, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, GSP was the best pound for pound without any super catch weight fight needed. Fedor and Silva took embarassing beatings that retired them, Jones looked barely average the first time he fought a guy his own size, but GSP avenged his losses to Serra and Hughes early in his career and then had a winning streak before choosing to retire on his own terms. Only biased retards like Dana who don’t know how to score mma gave Hendricks the W. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
