KungFuLowKick Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:35:42 from

I guess that explains why he was so weird looking with his knife in his interview.Heroin is hard to stop.I hope he gets better.

Savage Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:38:29 from

all respect for chris out the window..isnt this the second time he’s been caught with illegal substances?

hugemidget Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:40:05 from

could be the best thing that’s happened to him hopefully…

BamBam Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:48:07 from

wtf?! not again Chris! you were doing so well! man this annoys me!!!!!

tobes Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:52:18 from

not quite heroin, but heavy opioid painkillers. hope he can get cleaned up. Leben is his own worst enemy but i’ve also never seen him in a boring fight

cheesetoochalk Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:54:44 from

again!? In England!? Does he think him being in England means he can’t get caught or something!? LOL!

kuelniss Says, in 11-28-2011 at 16:59:09 from

This may sound harsh but I believe it to be true: no such thing as addiction, just lack of will power. Of course I am basing this on myself since I have done many different drugs and I have never been “addicted” to anything and I am in no way special. If you can’t stop doing something, it’s because your desire to stop is not strong enough.

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 11-28-2011 at 17:03:40 from

Damn that sucks hope his probelm doesnt get as bad as Chris Herrin’s was.

fightdontbefake Says, in 11-28-2011 at 17:11:31 from

I think Leben is going to have a terrible future, he will have sports injuries far after his career, this dude takes a beating. Sucks that he is out, but at least it wasn’t anything worse, like steroids. I think a year is far to long for oxy, but hey he signed the contract not me.

FU Says, in 11-28-2011 at 17:15:30 from

addictions can be a m***********. I hope he can kick the habit before it ruins his health.

Sweetlander Says, in 11-28-2011 at 17:27:46 from

Some people need to get caught, it’s a cry for help, good luck to Chris, I hope he beats the addiction this time.

Op_of_faith Says, in 11-28-2011 at 17:35:28 from

Hope the guy gets his s*** straight…he’s a respected fighter…

Pope Says, in 11-28-2011 at 17:49:15 from

Opiate addictions are terrible and have ruined many peoples lives who are close to me. I struggled with it as well recently. It must be hard to get off of them when your job makes you in pain constantly, so when you try to get off them your job hurts more than ever and you get sick. It ruined Mark Kerr, Karo, and seemingly Filho’s career. I hope he can get off of these because they make people perform terribly slow and lazily.

tra101 Says, in 11-28-2011 at 18:00:11 from

my boy was high as hell during da fight

dankarelli Says, in 11-28-2011 at 18:09:26 from

For the record, I want to state that Opiods are NOT a PED. It’s not the same as getting caught for steroids. If he has an addiction, I feel sorry for him and hope he gets the help he needs. This is ENTIRELY different than getting caught for Diuretics or steriods. This ISN’T a case of cheating. Just realize that.

Now Imma smoke a fatty and wash down 4 percs with a 6er of Bud in honour of Leben.

ScrubJONES Says, in 11-28-2011 at 18:12:26 from

oh 1 year off huh, i better get to his gym and teach him some s***, watch…. Chris will comeback a f***** beast

Death Grip Says, in 11-28-2011 at 18:41:55 from

It wasn’t “performance enhancing”, so I have no problem with what the guy does on his own time. However, the contract and the rules he agreed to dictate that he cannot touch this crap. I do wish him the best in getting clean.

Steve Says, in 11-28-2011 at 18:45:16 from

I remember during that fight Leben’s skin had a purplish tint to it. Must have had something to do with the drugs.

BrotherButthead Says, in 11-28-2011 at 19:14:48 from

I definitely thought he looked bigger in his last fight.

Is Dana White “disgusted” with Leben the way he was with Marquardt? Rules are bullshit when you aren’t consistent in how you apply them.

sskott Says, in 11-28-2011 at 19:15:06 from

This is very stupid. I imagine many fighters get prescribed those two same medications after grueling fights. There is nothing wrong with those chemicals when used responsibly with purpose.

kingdean Says, in 11-28-2011 at 19:25:01 from

well im glad he made no excuses and just apologize.

this explains that shitty performance.

casyboy Says, in 11-28-2011 at 19:33:47 from

well that explains why he looked so stiff against munoz… he may have beat munoz if clean..darn

saidit Says, in 11-28-2011 at 20:56:59 from

juggernautakira Says, in 11-28-2011 at 22:37:34 from

Oxy? Why? Thats not really a Performance Enhancer. s***, it would hinder performance if anything.

Let the druggie fight.

PastelXCore Says, in 11-29-2011 at 00:28:38 from

@ kuelniss what i think you might be trying to say is there is no such thing as an addiction that is impossible to overcome, addiction itself though is very real, i dont know if leben is an addict or just an idiot that likes to party with s*** you shouldn’t party with

Danby Says, in 11-29-2011 at 00:34:25 from

paddedummy Says, in 11-29-2011 at 00:55:05 from

WTF? Weak prescription dugs for pain like aspirin, I have an old bottle of the stuff in my medicine cabinet.

Freedomfit Says, in 11-29-2011 at 02:55:17 from

Self destructive…
Imagine if he won, and got caught, he would lose his potential title shot…
Such a bummer, would have been great to see him in better “mental” shape for the fight, likely would have been more entertaining, at least.

bigbadman Says, in 11-29-2011 at 06:27:32 from

@Brotherbutthead Look at the other comments, look up what Oxymorphone and Oxycodone are. They’re NOT steroids! They’re painkillers! Infact I’d say they’re more performance impeding than enhancing having just stopped taking them myself after surgery. They can make you feel really sick

Danby Says, in 11-29-2011 at 09:11:51 from

@bigbadman so what you are saying is that someone can take performance enhancers if they also take performance inhibitors too!? Thats BRILLIANT!!

Op_of_faith Says, in 11-29-2011 at 16:39:35 from

@bigbadman, Danby

Something to consider with pain-killers is that they can may you “impervious” to pain. If your nervous system/pain receptors are jacked you may be able to walk through punch (makes me think of Scarface in the movie-LOL).

Hope Leben gets his life together…seems like a cool guy that you don’t want to have a shitty life…

JoeDog Says, in 11-29-2011 at 17:41:15 from

These are semi-synthetic and synthetic opioid drugs that are loosely and carelessly prescribed by nearly every practicing M.D. in this country. Vicodin (hydrocodone) is to primary care medicine as M & Ms are to Halloween trick or treats. The abuse of these drugs is propagated by many if not every medical practitioner and is the cause of many deaths by overdose. Addiction is common. Leben is just a high profile example of a very common problem effecting millions of people in the U.S.. In 2009 there was an FDA push to ban these drugs. They should at the very least be highly restricted.

SinkTheHooks Says, in 11-29-2011 at 19:01:25 from

Very sad and let down, I doubt he will get back, those in the fight game bring their issues to the gym to ignore the high they chase, too many injuries and bad memories = leben.. just like Karo, sad but true

dankarelli Says, in 11-29-2011 at 19:05:38 from

you’re an idiot and should NOT talk about things which you know NOTHING about. Taking Percocets will NOT allow you to “walk through a punch” you moron. In fact they make you drowsy, weak… and once you get hooked – you’re a goddam mess. I think you are referring to PCP. Either way, you should shut your mouth instead of propagating total falsehoods.

kbf Says, in 11-29-2011 at 19:13:28 from

This is nothing compaired to Cael Sonnen. Who ever fights Chael next should have the option of taking what ever he roids he took and see how the fight turns out.

wow Says, in 11-29-2011 at 20:08:29 from

Oxycodone is highly addictive and honestly…makes you feel awesome. My buddy broke his back, he’s actually alright now, he can walk, run , lift a little, but he was given them to stop pain. He gave me one just because and I gotta tell you that s*** makes you feel great. I was in Uni at the time and went to class on it. Got a two phone numbers and invited to some Taiwanese Halloween party. Literally you’re just relaxed and pretty much carefree. I’m glad I didn’t do that s*** again though because it kind of scared me how great I felt on it.

walket6678 Says, in 11-29-2011 at 20:59:13 from

@kuelniss-you really need to read up on the brain and addiction. It’s physiological and it’s real.

control Says, in 11-30-2011 at 01:18:11 from

I’m curious why a person who fights for a living … Can’t have pain killers AFTER a fight ? For the beating he took, and takes in most fights , he should be on oxy

steamachine Says, in 11-30-2011 at 01:22:26 from

wtf is up with everyone saying “at least it’s not roids”. at least roids are a performance enhancing drug and show that you’re willing to do whatever takes to win. he’s just a f***** junky. your family, your fans are counting on you and you’re doin hardcore opiates??? I understand addiction…but I don’t sympathize, I’ve dealt with too many piece of s*** junkies in my time. it’s up to you. clean you’re f***** act up or be a failure.

cms Says, in 11-30-2011 at 08:19:29 from

How does this work with drugs? I mean, I know that fighters get suspended post-fight for receiving injuries most of the time, but who issues the suspensions for drug use? The Athletic Commission or Zuffa? Just curious. :l

jointlocker Says, in 11-30-2011 at 14:44:43 from

Again? Yes, again. I take percs from time to time for a chronic disc bulge with sciatica. That stuff just takes the pain away. It also makes you drowsy. Bad decision making taking it before a fight. He must’ve had some really bad pain in order to risk getting caught like that. Do they take his fight purse away too?

moonjak Says, in 12-2-2011 at 15:59:35 from

NoNoNo, Oxycontin is probably the the hardest med to kick. Doctors are very aware of this fact, yet prescribe anyway, not usually offering any kind of help for the patient when the prescription runs out. This guy has been kicking ass and getting ass kicked for years, for a living, and we like watching it. Do the guy a favor, send him some well wishes….

hyper steve Says, in 12-3-2011 at 14:17:29 from

I would pay money to see Chris on celebrity Rehab. He would do some crazy stuff!!!!! Feel sorry for Dr. Drew trying to talk sense to Chris.
