Meathead is just confident, not cocky. I saw a recent interview where he said something like “I know the fighters I have fought so far weren’t nearly the best in the division, but I’m gonna work my way up.” Confidence is a very important mental attribute to have in fighting. And he is a lot smarter than he appeared on TUF…he’s a quick learner and fights smart by using footwork for his striking and to keep distance from getting taken down. I believe he will eventually develop great takedown defense like other fighters with good footwork like Machida, Cruz, and Edgar.
Meathead by KO or UD. I think Kongo’s chin is starting to fade a bit (its still good though, just not iron anymore), but his recovery and heart is still incredible so Meathead is gonna have to put him out cold to beat him. Kongo does have a chance if he can close the distance and use clinch knees to the body and balls to wear Meathead down b/c he has suspect cardio, and then Kongo can take him down and get a tko.

yeah a little too cocky for the opponents he has beat…dude thinks he a killer. lol, and congo is more athletc for sure, um is meathead losing his mind, or is it filled with a false sense of ability

I am also rooting for mitrione to win, but honestly it just seems like Congo win has a bit of an edge. He is an experience veteran vs a hungry up n comer. It can go either way but wev seen more from Congo (tenacity, resilience, precision) and its still a ? for mitrione in some areas

@ SEAN_VANCE, Mitrione is very confident however he is not nearly as cocky as you’re saying. He actually seems somewhat grounded. BTW If you’re going to cheer for someone at least spell their name correctly. Matt has is 5-0 since Tuf and 4 of those are KO’s (I think that could give a guy some confidence)

Matt Mitrione has one of the most unique personalities in MMA and the skills to back it up with which is nice. However, his nickname is very unfortunate, because when I think of “meatheads” I think of fighters more like Phil Baroni and Matt Serra – I would think that I could think of more of them off the top of my head, but I guess most of the real meatheads of MMA never make it that far in this sport.
