Sonnen, could have taken Silva immediately after finishing Stann. He looked ripped, ready and barely winded. This was a display of a very skilled and conditioned mixed martial artist beating a tough but less much skilled fighter. Stupid f-in ref. What was that about?

Stann fought a really stupid fight. He looked like an amateur. What the hell was that lazy telegraphed kick in the beginning of the second after he spent the whole first round getting his ass pounded? I think he either had a very bad plan or he just went dumb under pressure. He is better than what he showed. Instead of kicks, he should have come with uppercuts, knees and elbows.
Anyway, Sonnen was classic Sonnen. He did exactly what he does in all fights. Close the distance and overpowers the other fighter on the ground. He is one of the best at it and, if the opponent doesn’t realize that, he will win easily. He made Stann look weak and foolish.
Everything else is just unnecessary WWE b.s.

@mmafan: I’ve met Silva way back then and I don’t think he is gay. His mannerisms are typical of a very relaxed guy. You can see the same in most places in the Caribbean for example. He is just a guy who fought his entire life to make a living and, now that he has achieved everything he could, he is only taking it easy.
I know Dana Douche will cut his own arm to make the fight happen, but there is nothing Sonnen can take from Silva. He is the most accomplished Mixed Martial Artist of all times and he is a happy dude. Chael can even beat him, which I really doubt, and Silva will still be the most accomplished mixed martial artist of all time and a guy who knows how to enjoy life (with the $$$ to help).
Chael is a great fighter, but he is an actor. His job is to promote this fight to the max so he can make enough money to retire from fighting and embrace politics (or Hollywood). Simple WWE stuff and he is really good at it.

Chael looked great. Honestly, he looked better than I expected him to–he seemed confident, in shape and injury free so maybe taking a year off has some benefits to it as long as you keep training.
Cool to see him use techniques in the octagon that Team Quest trains a lot at their gyms like the cradle guard pass.
Stann really had no answer to the elite level wrestling. He looked tired after grappling for 5 minutes whereas Chael could have done that for 3 more rounds

The test did NOT show that his testosterone levels were over the allowable amount. What the test did show was that his Test/Epitest ratio was 4- 16 times higher than “normal humans”. The commission concluded the imbalance was the result of having Testosterone replacement therapy and that therapy was not validated by his doctor before the fight. Long story short, he did not provide medical support for having TRT and if he did document the therapy correctly you guys would never have heard one word about “steroids”. Do you really think Silva wants to fight the best? If so, move it up and call out Jones – Oh, don’t get excited – he wont. At least Sonnen makes you interested in wanting to see the fight.
BTW – credit to Sonnen for taking the fight to Silva. After winning every freakn round, he kept fighting. he comes to fight – win or lose. What have the other clowns done against Silva?

I’m sick and tired of all these Anderson Silva haters.. stop hating on the guy and give him his respect , he is a legend of the sport and always will be , he has made almost every superstar in the sport look like new born babies. all i hear from these haters is anderson this . anderson that if anderson does this blah blah blah shut the hell up already

fedor I agree partially he was originally told his testosterone was the problem then they changed there story when they could not get him and that is not steroids it is more likely the result of many years of abusing steroids just like many top athletes years of abuse screws up your testosterone therefore you go on testy therapy but it matters not it will simply be a bully beat down he won’t stand there and let silva pick him apart close distance pound out simple gameplan

Chael is going to take Silva’s title…it is a foregone conclusion!!!After watching Stann get manhandled like that, i doubt anyone wants any piece of Sonnen… The guy is crazy, quite possibly schizophrenic, slightly deranged, I agree…To say he looks like a man on a mission is an understatement!!! If Anderson takes the same PEDs as Chael he should have no problem with him. Wish i knew why Nat Marquardt was out and Chael is still in the UFC. I guess Chael v Silva 2 is just too marketable.
