Chael has decent striking skill, just no power. I wonder about the 3 knock downs in the first A. Silva fight. Don’t know if lightening struck 3 times or if Silva was hurt/faking it. Bonnar hits a million times harder than Sonnen and Silva let Bonnar hit him in face over and over while he backed himself into the cage.

I think Chael has a better chance of beating Jones than Bitchping does of beating Vitor. I’d pay 500 bucks to watch Vitor inflict the same wound on Bitchping that he did on Eastman.

Sonnen says, “it’s a new year and you have to try new things”. He’s probably training in Curitiba Brazil! Lol…

@ MMABESTPICKS – someone’s face after a fight is not always reflective of who won the fight. The truth is that Chael took down Nate basically at will, and Nate only really had one moment of near success with the guillotine close to the end…

I have fought in cage matches before, and I have done wrestling and boxing, etc. The injuries I get from grappling are worse than the ones I get from striking. A couple cuts and bruises on the face don’t mean much. Getting slammed and dominated and continually held down is humiliating, demoralizing, and reflects to me that Chael deserved the win.

I actually prefer watching strikers. I find that element of fighting more exciting. But as someone who also has done wrestling, I have an understanding of how impressive (and also how physically devastating) it is to dominate someone in that department.

Lol MMAbestpicks you must have missed the fight or something Sonnen did whatever he wanted to Marquardt. Sonnen is not an elite fighter but he is no scrub that is for sure and he is definitely an elite wrestler.
