Chael rocks. Capitalism is the answer. Folk wrestling in the US is dying because it’s totally socialist. Tax payer dollars go to public schools to train these kids and have wrestling matches. It’s free to watch and pretty much free to get your kid into wrestling. Jiu-jitsu and other martial arts are more capitalistic. My tax dollars don’t go to the local dojo. Good luck finding a judo scholarship. Those martial arts are privatized not public. Chael’s right. Folk style needs to be marketed and possibly capitalistically.

charity is a healthy part of capitalism. therefore youth wrestling clubs like the one I coach are a by-product of the capilist system. Youth wrestling is actually on the upswing, it’s the college programs that are declining and that is due in part to regulation *cough title 9 cough*…

I agree with the critical comments: he said “wrestling should die” but read in that context it sounds like he wants it to die, but that is not the case. He’s saying based on the poor marketing of wrestling, it should die.

Also, the first comment saying he’s criticizing USA wrestling is incorrect. USA has nothing to do with collegiate (folkstyle) wrestling.

Personally, i don’t even know why wrestling is remotely popular. I’m not even sure if it is remotely popular…
