I agree with Chael and Dana in this case 100%.

It strikes me as very odd that Jones didn’t take the fight. Sure, Chael is not deserving of a title fight but that doesn’t change the fact that JJ would absolutely murder Chael in the cage. Afterward JJ gets to move on, doesn’t have to listen to Chael anymore. Now he’ll have to hear about it for a year (unless Chael loses to Griffin).

Honestly I almost wonder if there was an injury in the Jones camp and this was their way of not having to talk about it. If that’s not the case it just feels like terrible management cause I don’t think there’s any way JJ feels threatened by fighting Chael on 8 days notice, after all he was in fight shape for Hendo.

I haven’t always agreed with Chael, but I concede he is a very good if not great fighter and very intelligent.

I respect Jones talent, but I do not think he is a skilled fighter. He is a great athlete with good wrestling who is intelligent enough to use his gift of size. But he is not technical. I could still cheer for him in spite of these short comings, but I cannot cheer for a complete *&*hole.

I have said on this board more than once there is nothing worse than false humility. Jon Jones thinks you are stupid, he thinks he can trick you into believing he is a selfless humble guy. For a long time he walked the line and allowed us to debate his behaviour and remarks. Then he walked away from Machida after the sub only to return to “Get some fans” as Jackson remarked… If that didn’t tell the story, watch this story unfold. Jones will tell you his does his talking in ring. Of course he does, he is a humble man with nothing to say, unless of course his words and decisions impact thousands of people. Then he is down dolo.

Try to imagine any of the old school pride guys being fully trained and walking away from a fight. I have seen Rampage get killed over loosing to Bader on this site and the guy was fat, missed weight for the first time in his career because he couldn’t do road work. He didn’t run the whole camp!!! and he still fought. Hell he fought guys with a f’d upd jaw and hand. Jon Jones is fully trained and won’t fight Sonnen for five rounds off the couch…?

It’s simple, If Jones agreed to the fight then he’d be saying that the title means absolutely nothing. How can MMA be considered a sport when you don’t have to earn your way to the top, just talk your way there. UFC is now officially a joke as a competitive sport, in real sports you have to actually engage in competition and prove your worthy of competing at the top level, something neither Sonnen or Belfort has done or even began to do. Dana is completely destroying the authenticity of UFC. I have a feeling Dana making the titles mean absolutely nothing is the beginning of the downfall for UFC, the damage has already been done, there’s no going back for the UFC as a sport, the titles now officially mean nothing, GOOD WORK DANA

Its not about who is worthy to fight him it’s about who was willing to fight with no time to train to save the card. A couple of guys from middleweight came forward and he turned them down. Champions are supposed to take on any one put in his way a MAN is supposed to take on anybody especially a s*** talking douche like Sonnen. Sonnen punked him on tv,harassed him on twitter and Jones replied im more man than you’ll ever be and some other s*** comebacks then when the time to settle the argument comes he punked the f out like a coward ass bitch bottomline.
Do you guys turn down fights when some douche is insulting you and wants to throwdown?
If you do I feel sorry for you. Don’t get me wrong Im not some ass that goes out picking fights and starting s*** with everyone but if someone wants to disrespect,insult and fight with me win,lose,bigger,stronger,faster than me I don’t give a s*** you want some bring it there gonna have to earn a victory over me.

He got his title on short notice. He was fully trained… and ducked what should have been a sure win. He screwed a lot of people.

I really hate what the ufc is becoming. a bunch of sissy ass celebrities afraid to fight. Jones is a chickenshit, Chael is a borderline retard, greg jackson ruined the fight game and then dumass Dana never has a backup fighter. I mean, shouldn’t a champ fight anybody they put in front of them??? I miss pride…

He’s hard to listen to. He can’t speak in a normal tone of voice and spews continuous whiny nonsense. Doesn’t he know fighter salaries are public information? Claiming that he is the highest paid fighter in mma sounds so stupid. He’s not even close. He made 50 K for “falling down” in his last fight, probably one of his best purses ever.
No doubt, Sonnen has fighting skills but his greatest skill is promotion. Snuggling up (seven days a week) to Dana White seems to be his latest ploy. Soon he will call himself the UFC LHW champ (by forfeiture). You have to give him credit for stepping up, because we all know that he was sure to loose to Jones.
I say, bring the Armenian over from Strikeforce. Mousasi vs Jones.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.What’s public is the amount they give to show and what they give to the winner.They don’t tell you the PPV sale % the fighter gets.And Silva vs Chael Sonnen was one of the biggest PPV sales ever for the UFC so I beleive Chael had the biggest payday ever in the UFC.

Jon Jones says that he fights to make money and provide for his family. So refusing to fight and therefore getting nothing makes perfect sense. He’s an absolute hypocrite and a fool
