The first 2,20 of what Chael says is prolly the real guy behind all the theatrics and monkey-buisiness imo.
Im just not buying the act he puts on of beeing this huge ass and hater. I wouldnt be surprised if hes just a nice guys that has found a way to promote himself and his fights.I mean, its working for him.
He looked kinda great in the match so i for one, theatrics or not, are really looking forward to that rematch when it happens.

Most people here don’t like him for that reason.He talks too much WWE bullshit.Every top fighter could talk as much crap as Cheal, even more because at least the other guys finish fights, but they don’t because they are pro athletes and act like pro athletes.They sell fights with their skills not their mouth.

Psycho you are wrong. I like him because he is a great fighter. He is the only real fighter to beat the spider but ended up with the L. He talks smack but he does it with style and intelligence unlike most fighters these days. I think I like him because I know he is the only fighter in the division that can beat the champ.

One thing for sure tho he’s got the best wrestling ground in pound in MMA period! He’s fought the best middle weights around Nate the Great, Okami, Stann, and Anderson Silva. When he wants you on the ground on your back that’s where your going!

Totally disagree, man. Some MMA fighters don’t talk s*** because it’s against their values and some don’t do it simply because they don’t have the wit or intelligence. Sonnen is a witty guy, he’s quick on the uptake and it takes a lot of confidence and skill to retain composure and say the things he does with the lights on and the cameras rolling.
As for being a boring fighter, again, totally disagree. Remember that many people come to MMA from a grappling background. I love watching the wrestling game in MMA, it’s the main reason I watch. (It’s also why I tend to like Joe Rogan as an announcer.)
Where I live in Portland, OR, we know that Chael is a hell of BJJ practitioner. He did not just gain the BJJ skills he displayed in the last fight by training with Jake Shields for a few weeks. The last major grappling tourney in Portland I attended 3 years ago, Chael tapped out all the experts in all divisions and then donated the prize money to charity. He’s a great wrestlin/BJJ fighter who tends to favor ground and pound. To me, that’s not boring.

Sounded humble this time, but I don’t think he is the greatest fighter in this weight division. Someone with a stronger wrestling base would definitely beat him. Defend his take downs and box with him. He has a much weak stand up than most I believe in this division.

It’s nice to see Chael being humble for the first 2 minutes when talking about Stann. I like him a lot and enjoy his fights. Not to mention, the dude is funny. You either get it or you don’t. He talks smack on a whole different level. He doesn’t just bitch and swear, he reminds me of a stand up comedian, not a WWE character. He is who he is and that’s Chael Sonnen. It seems like he has gained a lot of fans these days because people are starting to understand him better. Filtering out what is real and what is joke.
