Nobody wants the champ to be a disrespectful unprofessional punk. GSP is so much better for the UFC. I bet Dana would’ve matched Nick up with Overeem if he were allowed.Something to end this lil pain in the ass’ career. Unfortunately, Gracie doesn’t understand that 2 very good fighters fighting for a title is story enough. You don’t need this straight out of Compton BS. Save it for felony fights.

Juniordoslightsout Says, in 9-9-2011 at 10:12:36 from

Thats the truth don’t take this away from the fans punish and fine nick. but don’t screw us.

oshawabinalex Says, in 9-9-2011 at 10:21:54 from

Cesar is an idiot, Penn is a harder fight, BS. He is more well rounded? How many times would GSP have to beat Penn to be more well rounded? No one is talking about the GSP fight? Only reason why people are talking about Diaz is because hes such a screw up. All he did was miss a press conference? That’s a big deal. All you have to do as a fighter is press conferences and fight. He’s not doing half his job. I hate Diaz, just fire him after he gets beaten up.

madona Says, in 9-9-2011 at 10:26:26 from

Diaz vs GSP was the most interesting option they could have as far as title fight.

BJ Penn is the next best fight vs Nick Diaz.

Though I agree with Gracie that Fitch vs Diaz makes more sense.

armdaddy5691 Says, in 9-9-2011 at 10:28:23 from

Seriously, are you for real. Let’s just do things how Nick wants to so he will show up. How about grow up. Quit making excuses. You have to follow the rules. I think if That whole stable of fighters would worry about fighting instead of trying to look like a badass they would be great. Drop the bowed-up playground bully crap. It’s old and over.

kinfolk Says, in 9-9-2011 at 10:31:22 from

amen to that brutha!

madona Says, in 9-9-2011 at 10:34:24 from

And yes no one cares about GSP vs Condit.

Bernardo Says, in 9-9-2011 at 11:11:30 from

Cesar hit it on the nose, “Punish Nick not the fans” and that “No one cares about the CC vs GSP”. Come on Dana switch it back again, I’m sure GSP and BJ prefer fighting their original opponents.

RearNakedSmoke Says, in 9-9-2011 at 11:16:02 from

Dana is a genius. I don’t think that Cesar quite gets it yet.
If GSP and Nick win, they fight next. Same with any combo of winners. Same with the losers. They’ll all fight each other eventually, and the best of the best will be champ. While all the while, Jon Fitch stands irrelevantly on the sidelines, and GSP gets to continue to duck the Silva fight.
Everyone wins, here. Except for Jon Fitch. :)

666cagefighter Says, in 9-9-2011 at 11:18:20 from

noooo my two favorite fighters. i don’t want to see either beat the other however itll probably be a badass fight.

American MMa Says, in 9-9-2011 at 11:48:03 from

NICK DIAZ is a real fighter who fights to Finish , not score points and look pretty like GSP. Diaz connects with people because he is a real athlete!!!

UFC and DANA WHITE are a joke if they think Carlos Condit is on the same level as GSP and NICK DIAZ.

Avengedlevis7x Says, in 9-9-2011 at 11:54:48 from

I’m glad Diaz isn’t fighting GSP he don’t deserve it. HE’s never beat anyone that’s any Good! I mean come on, Joe Riggs beat this wimp! Condit is twice the fighter Diaz will ever be!

Enscribe Says, in 9-9-2011 at 12:37:37 from

Cesar is as crazy as Nick! Backpedaling on your statements is a classy move…..dumb*ss!
Oh and I care about the Condit fight cause Condit is a better fighter with a better chance. And i can’t wait for BJ to whoop Nick right outta his new contract. Go box with the rest of the big head ego maniacs Nick.

casyboy Says, in 9-9-2011 at 13:00:07 from

who deserves a titleshot more , diaz or condit? how many fights has nick won in the ufc? i didnt think nick had a punchers chance against gsp. condits guard is way better! and most of all nick wouldnt answer his phone to let dana know whats up! u gotta communicate!

KungFuLowKick Says, in 9-9-2011 at 13:00:50 from

Put Condit(or any top WW) against Nick’s last opponents and everyone will look impressive.Do you guys remember Nick getting beat up by Diego Sanchez,Sean Sher,Joe Riggs and Karo Parysyan.I know he evolved since that time but so did GSP.GSP is a better grappler then any of those guys and his striking is on another level. At least now Nick has a chance even if BJ will be the 1st real top fighter he fought since 2007.Nick might have a “good fighter ring rust” since he didnt fight anybody near his skills for the last 3-4 years.I still see BJ winning.BJ is a LW but he will still beat Dick Niaz

willienugget Says, in 9-9-2011 at 13:02:14 from

I can totally see anyone having issues with Nick but “hasn’t beat anyone that’s good” that’s just foolish.

Way too much drama and bs for me. I feel like I’m sucked into some crappy soap opera. But Diaz/Penn is a fight I’ve wondered about for a long time.

Nick farked this up pretty bad and I think he’s lucky to have this fight.

willienugget Says, in 9-9-2011 at 13:04:06 from

Diaz has not beat anybody that in the top 10. Enough said. No hard fights in strikeforce. The once’s in UFC he lost.

“Drugs this and no contest that but he beat up Takanori Gomi. That dude was number one in the world.”

According to who? The poll rankings back then? Umm who has Gomi beat in the UFC? Tyson Griffin? Diaz *hasn’t* beaten anyone top in years other than Daley whose barely top 10, if top 10 at all. Santos, Noons, Sakurai, Zaromskis, Smith, and Shamrock? When have *ANY* of these people been top 10?

Diaz is in for a rude rude awakening

Tsagoii Says, in 9-9-2011 at 13:52:37 from

Gentlemen, enough with the silva thing, they both in different categories.

FYI GSP did said that eventually he wants to move in a steady physical way to a natural 205 if he wants to compete at that wait. That is once he thinks he has proven to all he is the truly best at his weight, same for Silva.

I think both of them wouldn’t mind beating everybody twice, to make that point. That first win was not a 50-50 thing.

I know I would, line them up.

I always loved Fedor for the difference of size he had with some of his opponent, when today for a 10lbs, some avoid each other.

Sigh…Pride days

Savage Says, in 9-9-2011 at 14:12:18 from

DANA is not punishing the fans. he is running his business with a no bullshit attitude. Dana is the parent in this situation something Nick probably didnt have. If he lets nick get away with this with just a fine nick says “oh ok, i dont have to listen to the rules that anyone else does” NOBODY SHOULD BE MAD A DANA FOR “punishing” THE FANS. BE PISSED AT NICK for thinking he is better than anyone else and is above the rules. F*** you Nick Diaz. you F*** around and you get punished thats how it goes…maybe you shoulda been punished more as a child and you wouldnt think you could get away with this s***, and now the camp is twisting the view to blame dana? guess what, dana would never have had to change the card if Nick didnt F*** around. I support all the choices made by the ufc brass in this whole fiasco

Rico Suave Says, in 9-9-2011 at 14:55:16 from

“All he did was miss one press conference” REALLY?! Nick missed two press conferences for one, and for two, call it dog and pony show, call it what you want, the UFC is a business, they are selling tickets to pay your dumb a$$ so you can go do what you do in Stockton…smoke weed, smoke some more weed, etc., etc. If the boss says be at the press conference to hype the fight, you better be there, what’s next for this punk, not making weight?

SEAN_VANCE Says, in 9-9-2011 at 15:22:44 from

Right ! I DONT GIVE A RATS ASS THAT NICK MISSED A PRESS CONFERENCE! All you dumbasses talking about “respect” etc, shut the hell up, seriosly, I want to watch a damn fight, PERIOD. Oh cos the “honor” of the mix martial arts profession and the Samurais and the Ninjas…STFU people, u just dont like Nick cos hes a nut…but u know what hes fun as hell to watch and he comes in to kill people…I WANT TO WATCH THAT…the ONLY one that should be pissed about Nick not showing up is Dana WHite cos he wants the advertisment…everyone else is a freaking fan and u have nothing to do with that, so get off the penis.

KouNTa KuLCHa Says, in 9-9-2011 at 15:28:03 from

@willienugget – Agreed.

@AFan – Please, go back and watch his old fights. Your paragraph is completely false. Shamrock and Sakurai were number one in their divisions for a while. Noons & Smith were in there at one time or another, too.
Like I said, so you don’t look like a fool again, go back and do some good ol’ fashioned MMA research. And I’m not talkin’ about surfin’ Sherdog. ♠

Word! His striking is always supreme. Check out when he knocked out the time he stood toe to toe with Har . . Or the time he knocked out a blind Kos . . How about that one time he showed his superior stand up against a grappler in Jak . .
Never mind.

Op_of_faith Says, in 9-9-2011 at 15:47:37 from

Dana White is 1000% right here…if he let’s Diaz act like a bitch with only a fine then EVERY other fighter will do it and make it up in endorsements. He need to let them know that THEY HAVE TO KEEP THEIR WORD. PERIOD. Had Diaz NOT agreed to do press it would be different. He gave his word and didn’t keep it. End of story.

Beast w/ 8 Limbs Says, in 9-9-2011 at 16:02:23 from

McClinchey Says, in 9-9-2011 at 16:31:30 from

If he missed the press and did not get cut, I dont think anyone would be calling for him to get cut… Him not showing up to press s*** could have been his way of getting into gsps head or something, no body has ever accused diaz of being a genius outside of the ring.

Everybody talks s*** about Nick not being responsible and only doing what he wants, even when that may be a part of it, don’t forget that he battles with social anxiety issues. Those chemical imbalances in the brain can be real troublesome that only the individual suffering from them can understand. We all know Nick Diaz would never bail on a fight and he’ll take it to anybody who wants it. I wish the fight with GSP was still on but everything happens for a reason and Nick is a damn good fighter that I love watching……. So is Nate for that matter.

ratchola Says, in 9-9-2011 at 19:42:00 from

diaz want to be paid and fight thats want he wants, how about the one whos paying him, he wants to get what he want, but maybe he dont know about ufc. they want to promote the fight like press conference for it to be more people watch it. ufc give his money and fight on the other side give him what ufc needs. simple

RearNakedSmoke Says, in 9-9-2011 at 21:21:32 from

Randy, no dis, but what is it with this “put on weight” s***? Georges actually has people buying that s***. GSP is 195 pounds, 90% of the time. To fight at middleweight, he simply has to CUT LESS WEIGHT. He is under NO obligation to gain weight, just so he can insist on cutting 25 lbs to make middleweight. That’s a choice on his part.

willienugget Says, in 9-9-2011 at 21:25:52 from

I didn’t feel the need to rundown his whole career. Someone said he hadn’t beaten anyone good.

I think one can argue against the strength of the whole of it, but there is absolutely no doubt that the guy is good enough to show what he’s got against what everyone else considers the best. I think some of his opponents don’t get enough credit and any fighter in the UFC generally gets a bit too much based solely on that.

One of the cooler things I’ve noticed lately is seeing it written that Diaz hasn’t fought in the UFC since defeating Gleison Tibau. Pretty easy to gloss right over it but just how many guys leave the UFC after wins? It’s not like he was run out of town like has been oft suggested.

iLLMAculate Says, in 9-9-2011 at 21:58:37 from

Cesar..sorry, but I’m probably a bigger FAN than you are. There’s probably thousands if not millions of mma FANS that are bigger FANS than you are. I’m ecstatic that Dana White salvaged Diaz’ UFC career by giving him the “opportunity” to fight a marquee guy like BJ Penn especially after no-showing to something as simple as a press conference. I don’t see how you would NOT want to see this fight happen. If not Diaz/GSP, then Diaz/BJ Penn is the next best thing. Diaz is back on the proving grounds to prove what he’s worth not just as a fighter, but as an investment for the UFC for many years to come.

RNS, and Silva walks around at 210+ does that mean he should be fighting heavy weight? all the fighters cut weight to fight why pick on GSP? you know its a bad move to move in weight to fight some one.

Turboobsessed Says, in 9-10-2011 at 00:02:53 from

I totally agreed with the punishing Nick Diaz and not the fans. Dana White goes on a power trip when he gets mad and goes his way. Aloooot of fans were upset to hear about the change, but good to see he is still on the card. I truly care more about the Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn fight. They both come to fight and not dry hump like GSP. I hope GSP wins though so he can get Diaz again…

how the F*** can UFC or fans trust that idiot “nick” even he doesn’t even show up for his biggest career fight?? its a Title for the main championship ffs’s.
is Gracie retarded or something? trying to justify what that dumb ass did?
if he miss 3 scheduled fight he might not even show up for a fight who knows.
as much as I wanted to see GSP vs Diaz badly he should be suspended for a year so he can learn a lesson.

levercham Says, in 9-10-2011 at 08:05:00 from

Rear Naked Smoke, anderson silva is 4 inches taller than gsp at 6’2″, and anderson NORMALLY weighs around 220 +.
He is a much much larger man than gsp, so this idea that they are somehow closely matched in size is ridiculous.
If anderson didnt want to fight at such a skinny weight he could EASILY move into heavyweight, and he is good enough to beat all of the heavyweights too.
To be fair, anderson is a freakishly good fighter with incomparible skills, GSP is an extremely dedicated student of the game and an absurdly hard worker, but the two are simply not the same.
George just isnt as good as anderson, plain and simple, but who else is ?
ALSO, george is the much smaller man, and his striking is amateurish when compared to someone like anderson.
AND GSP is the much smaller man, much shorter reach, this is a no win for him in every imaginable way.
I do not see what in the world he has to gain by even taking the fight, and he would be putting himself at MASSIVE disadvantage, especially when regarding the difference in striking abilities.
GSP is my favorite fighter, and the idea of him moving UP in weight class to fight an absolutely massive middleweight who is in fact in all likelyhood the best mma fighter in the world, is a horrible one at best.
You guys dont even seem to want him to have a tune up fight at 185, lol, just sling him in there with anderson ! horrible
Anderson fought at 205, and he fought a can in ” the sandman ” , and while popular, lets be honest and admit that forrest griffin is just not an elite fighter, athlete, anything, he never was, and never will be.
Again, i want to point out, anderson is 6’2″ tall, 4 inches taller than gsp, and normally weighs over 220 pounds, vs gsp’s normal 195 pounds.

levercham Says, in 9-10-2011 at 08:11:08 from

Also rear naked smoke, any athlete that competes in any sport where meeting weight is critical, will know that your idea about ” just cut less weight” is just silly.
These people weigh in at what they feel is their optimum weight for performance.
The idea that just ” not cutting ” an additional 15 pounds of weight that you normally would to be in optimum condition, to do combat in a cage with elite athletes trying to beat you down doesn’t matter, is stupid.

I can not wait until underground mma fans hop onto nicks dick so quick after he starts winning in the ufc.
