Catching Up With BJ Penn Before His Fight With Rory MacDonald At UFC On FOX 5

I’m a Big BJ Penn Fan his done more than most with a huge heart.

But Rory is a huge Welterweight and probably can knockout Penn.

BJ has to BJJ Rory to win hoping that Rory goes like in the Condit fight in Rd 3.

Rory is a joke. He was getting tooled on the feet by Che Mills. BJ will do the same to him. Maybe he should worry less about his stupid fashion phase he’s going thru and more about how to avoid getting punched in the face.

He can say what he wants because he has fought in highjer weight classes. There is an old interview out there about his view of weightclasses as well. Basically he feels that if you are confident in your technique, it shouldn’t matter what size you opponent is. He even fought Lyoto in Japan.

And I’d rahter watch BJ scrap than two in shape,professioonal athletes dry hump each other for a decision.

My and Biggie BA remember the Che mills fight way differently. I remember McDonald dominating mills, rory took mills down at will. I see this as BJ’s last fight. The new talent at 170 is too deep and I don’t think BJ likes cutting down to 155.

Love BJ, met the guy a couple times, great family but I honestly feel this is his last fight. Rory performs at levels no fighter before him ever did at his current age. Not even Jon Jones. It’s more than Rory’s conditioning or the fact he trains at Tri-Star. Watch his footwork, instincts and timing.

@Iron fist, to certainly disagree…I remember Che Mills tagging Rory left and right. Rory did not like it and gave up trying to exchange on the feet and so decided to just take him down. Which he was able to do easy because its Che Mills. And once on the ground he was able to dominate because, well, once again, its Che Mills. BJ Penn is a different story.

It’ll be a good fight, but Rory will take it. I expect it to go similar to Rory vs. Nate, where Nate as a smaller fighter got tossed around like a rag doll. Ring rust will also likely have some affect on Penn.
