Wow the UFC did a good job of shutting all videos down. I can’t find this fight anywhere. And I mean anywhere. Sucks, Hope to see it soon

Bruno: Both vids work great for me.

Wow im impressed. Carlos did very well. I guess those half power punches aren’t very effective without the volume.

Grant Says, in 2-5-2012 at 09:38:19 from

Uh-oh, looks like mmamike is butthurt since Diaz lost. Condit wooped his ass and didn’t fall for his stupid games. You Diaz lovers are hilarious.

fightdontbefake Says, in 2-5-2012 at 09:40:11 from

Yeah, any true MMA fighter would agree, Carlos played the points game, not fight game. Pride gets it right, if you turn your back and run from an opponent you get yellow carded, two yellow cards and you get a red card, you lose the fight. Watching Carlos literally turn his back to Diaz and run away, makes him a loser in my books. Diaz is right he shouldn’t have to deal with that s***.

f_u Says, in 2-5-2012 at 09:44:07 from

this fight is just more evidence that the whole thing is fixed. dana says dont leave it to the judges because the judges make decisions based on the betting lines. FACT!!!!!

cigronne Says, in 2-5-2012 at 09:44:07 from

Carlos is just great, he is not stupid to play Diaz’s game. Well done man, very stylistic performance, a true champ.

I don’t know about this one condit did have effective striking but nick controlled the octogon and was the agressor. Condit did nothing but fall back the entire fight.People are gonna say he took nick out his game and won but so did Maia when fighting Anderson Silva when he kept pulling guard and everyone hated him for that. Felt nick took the first two and gave him the last round. This coulda been a great fight…if Condit woulda fought

srebrnjak Says, in 2-5-2012 at 10:05:23 from

f u mmamike, what is he supposed to do have a slugfest with diaz, he fought a technically perfect fight, stuck to his gameplan and that’s how you win titles. if this was a fight on an undercard or this was their 6th or 7th fight I’d say, you better go to war, you’re 28 y/o it’s time to step up, but this fight was for the title and only a person who don’t know sh!t about fighting can think carlos ran in this fight.. he picked him apart, you can’t expect ko’s left and right on this level.. all those idiots were praising diaz’ endurace, and carlos went toe to toe with him on that and every other aspect of the game. carlos is just a better fighter.
on a side note, bruno, is there any chance you upload the new ufc intro that replaced the gladiator, I can’t find it anywhere

gunnyhighway99(Panama) Says, in 2-5-2012 at 10:20:22 from

Nick comes to fight, Carlos comes to run. Carlos wins on significant strikes, aka girlie leg kicks to keep Nick at bay. Greg Jackson ruined GSP, and now he ruined Carlos Condit. Sure, they win fights, but they’re not really fights anymore, just scoring points in a pitter patter contest. GSP vs Condit will be a draw, the first in the history of the UFC championship fights, because neither fighter will land a punch.

J Says, in 2-5-2012 at 10:30:31 from

I am beginning to suspect the UFC influences the judging. I know how stupid that sounds. The way Rogan and Goldberg hyped Condit the whole fight, seemed a set up. Condit ran away from Diaz the whole fight. Aren’t Octagon control and aggression key factors in the judging?

Diaz made a mistake not going for the take down sooner so he use his BJJ. Hopefully, there will be a rematch. GSP will destroy Carlos – can’t run away from him.

Somebloke Says, in 2-5-2012 at 10:35:18 from

Good job Condit!! Really pleased for him, he seems like a good dude and was right to stick to the gameplan. I’m interested to see how Diaz moves on from this but I’m glad Carlos rewrote the script. I know he’ll get his haters for not standing and banging but he’s had enough finishes to be allowed the odd points victory…just don’t turn into GSP!

What piece of crap decision! Diaz was the aggressor and landed the harder shots. Even when Condit missed Rogan would comment nice combination. Diaz couldn’t get a close decision here even if Dana White was his daddy. Like Nick, I will no longer watch this bias crap division. Let George St Vasoline have his fake belt, and golden boy Condit fight.

Condit did everything, more so than Nick, spinning backhands,Front kicks, sidekicks taking power out of the lead lead of Nick, spinning back elbows,Flying knees, basically having Nick stalk Condit trying to land at least some combos but Condit is too fast for him.Condit was Countering with all those moves.Simply outpoint him.Nick did nothing really except trying to square up and condit would move out of that square.Good fight for both!..Bruno you da man..fast upload!

Carlos turned a fight into a slap and run for 5 rounds.
Nick should of won the fight simply because he tried to fight.

kidfrosty Says, in 2-5-2012 at 11:52:30 from

Awesome tactics by Condit. He was clearly having his game rather than Diaz’s. Will be interested to see how Condit/GSP plays out….

Corey Says, in 2-5-2012 at 12:00:08 from

So.. by counter punching, circling backwards the entire fight, basically runny from any sort of aggressive trades, and kicking and diaz’s knees, carlos proves he can outscore a clearly better and more entertaining fighter. He also proved he lacks the power and aggressiveness to even hope to beat gsp. Go Condit (sarcasm) At least Diaz could have done something when GSP took him down. You don’t have s***. You pulled a boring ass bullshit decision over Diaz, and now GSP will hug you on the ground for 25 minutes and the welterweight division will go right back to what it was. Awesome.

Lucas… Says, in 2-5-2012 at 12:02:07 from

MMAMike, Carlos did an amazing job, using each and every skill he has to progressively frustrate Nick Diaz. Only a fool would stand and trade with that bad attittude automat; he clearly isn’t. Fighting intelligently makes you a winner, not a hoe. Kudos for both fighters though; if Diaz considers not retiring, this fight will teach him to add some more variety to his go-forward-punch-a-lot-only game.

danada Says, in 2-5-2012 at 12:43:44 from

Greg Jacksons mma at its’ finest. I still think Diaz had the better of the exchanges in the first 3 rounds. Carlos only started landing more in rounds 4 and 5. So much back peddling and ducking and running. If Diaz wasn’t who he is this fight would have been sooo boring. I can’t stand Greg Jackson gameplans anymore. He’s ruining mma. Getting all his fighters to win on points. Carlos didn’t hurt Nick despite how much he landed. It’s frustrating for Nick to lose when he’s the one who made it a fight. Diaz has a right to be upset. He only ever loses on points. Either people lay and pray or run away.

jches Says, in 2-5-2012 at 12:44:05 from

kaution187 Says, in 2-5-2012 at 12:49:05 from

what the hell was all that damn running? Jackson’s mma has lost its luster. I guess the holes Carlos was talking about is Nick’s desire to get in the octagon and fight and Jackson’s style is to play it safe. I wonder how that plays with guys like Garcia and Cerone who like to fight? Oh yeah they end up getting bested at the fight game cuz maybe their coaches are too out of touch. Nick spent so much time trying to get him to engage til it was ridiculous. This fight had the hallmark of being one of 2012 best whether standing or on the ground. Instead I got track and field. SMH

Savage Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:03:25 from

so carlos finishes 26 of 27 fights…he hasnt gone to a decision in years, this is only his second ever decision and he is now the “standing gsp”? He played a safe gameplan yes. But he was technical in his execution and refused to fall into the trap that Diaz sets with his style of standup. He effectively outstruck Diaz and if being technical as opposed to throwing down wins you a title (sorta) then I have nothing against him for it.

Bernardo Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:10:51 from

@MMAMIKE I’m with you brother!!! That track star couldn’t stand and bang and take the power so he kept running for his life. How in f@#@ can you respect someone like that??? Diaz was robbed again!!! These f****** refs suck!!! I thought for sure they would give the fight to Nick bc of his aggression and strong finish bc other than the 4th round it was very close.
I don’t know how they gave the fight to Conduit when the rounds were close and all he did was run. He caused no damage and didn’t put Nick in any danger. On the flip coin Nick was aggresive, scored with combos, controlled the ring, going for takedowns, and finished the fight strong by taking Conduit down and putting him in danger of submission. If there was more time in the 5th Nick would’ve been more patient and probably submitted him or G&P him out.

I watched the fight two addtional times and you can clearly see that Nick definitely won the 1,2,3 and 5(atleast 10/8) and the only round I believe Conduit won was the 4. The 1st round could be a draw IMO. To be fair to all the Conduit fans, Conduit might have outscored Nick in the 1, 3 by a few slapping leg kicks (Not proper Muay Thai Shin kicks) that were mostly checked by Nick but Nick chased him down all those rounds and scored better hand combos. NICK IS A TRUE WARRIOR and Conduit didn’t live up to his words that he is warrior and lets it all hang in the ring!!!

KungFuLowKick Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:11:08 from

thejudge Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:18:13 from

1. mmamike, you’re a moron. Condit won that fight in every single way, yes including movement. Furthermore fighting is about winning rounds genius, winning rounds on the way to a KO or submission of course but you have to start at the basics.
2. that was the equivalent of when Josh Thompson beat Gil Melendez the first time. A perfectly executed gameplan and great physical performance.

Jack Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:37:29 from

the GSP!

Freaklegion Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:53:05 from

@mmamike Ya, so true hey? They should just brawl, screw technique, technique is for losers.

Sunfish Hero Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:56:08 from

At the end of the day, this is a sport, you got to win to progress. With that in mind, Carlos, more often than not, finishes his opponents. To say hes in it to win rounds based off of one fight is absurd. The guy just earned his 2nd decision win last night out of 28 wins Which means he finished the other 26. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more prolific finisher in this sport.

Don’t be mad because Diaz got out pointed. Be mad that Diaz didn’t bring anything new to the table and got exposed.

Sunfish Hero Says, in 2-5-2012 at 13:58:52 from

Congrats to Condit, he fought like a Champion and didn’t let Diaz’s school yard taunting provoke him. He fought smart and picked Diaz apart, you can tell Condit’s strategy was designed for 5 rounds. It must be nice to have Jackson and Winklejon in your corner.

pikachumanson Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:00:54 from

I agree with this decision. Carlos had the better striking for rounds 2 3 and 4 and he was winning 5 til the takeown

scottc Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:02:52 from

mmamike you must have not seen what i watched? Because what i watched was high level martial arts being fought. But the main thing you missed was that Condit(A Warrior)outsmarted Diaz(A Fighter) by taking a page right out of Boxing 101 and that was to STICK AND MOVE!This was Ali/Frazier all over again. Condit didnt stay in the pocket and get tagged by Diaz even though Diaz’s punch accuracy and volume is inhuman! By the third round he had Diaz chasing him and was angry and flustered. You could see Condit’s confidence build with every round and his combinations were absolutely SICK!! He utilized everything against Diaz and clearly outkicked Diaz. His speed picked up by the fourth where Diaz stayed the same. By the fifth you could see Diaz looking defeated. Nick was so flustered that he had to take it to the ground to try to submit. MUCH RESPECT to the NEW INTERIM WELTERWEIGHT CHAMP CARLOS CONDIT!!!!

Bokula Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:03:45 from

A Hoe? Standing GSP?? Really mmamike? Perhaps you should look at his record and the number of finishes he has. Pull your head out of your ass and look at Condits last 2 fights. He fought the right fight for that particular opponent. Thats what good coaching can do for you. Nick’s corner never made the necessary adjustments. Had Diaz took Condit down with more than 30 seconds left in the fight he probably wouldn’t have had to “retire” after the fight.

Get to da choppaaahhhh!!! Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:08:28 from

carlos may have been moving away almost the entire time but diaz didn’t look good by any means….if you remember he threw almost NO punches in the later rounds, rewatch if you have to. usually he is constantly on you with volume, great combos, this fight he looked terrible, he wasn’t throwing a high volume of punches, HE THREW NO PUNCHES IN THE LATER ROUNDS….i have no problem with the decision AT ALL…if condit was throwing such “baby” shots, why wasn’t diaz chasing him down with flurries like he landed on penn and everyone else….it’s his own fault he lossed not the judges.

I thought not.

Condit did what he needed to do. Which is what Diaz does, frustrate his opponent and take him out of his game.

Obviou;y it worked. He’s the new champ. So suck off all you suckheads who say you would have just stood there and let Diaz tee off on your empty skull.

Catquick802 Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:24:31 from

Good fight. The right man won, but wouldn’t have felt too bad if Diaz got the decision. Spinning off the cage to the center of the ring is great technique that obviously frustrated Nick. Condit also threw everything but the kitchen sink at Nick, so what if he didn’t connect on many of them. The point is he did engage with Nick in the latter rounds. I also feel that Condit’s conditioning was on a par with Diaz’s which probably surprised him. Also, Fixed?!!! really? obviously the GSP vs. Diaz fight would have been far more intriguing than the alternative, how on Earth could you think that the the UFC is fixed. Grow up.

Danby Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:26:05 from

How can people think that diaz took this. he barely hit him the whole fight. Condit consistenly hit him with in and out attacks. Only diaz got was that takedown and his back at the end.

Diaz should have started throwing power punches because his ‘wear him down will little punches’ technique was failing. He wasn’t connecting nearly enough for that. Its probably hard to switch gears from a technique that has worked so well all this time.

Condit did quite well, and i think hes really gonna give gsp a run.

Tempted Says, in 2-5-2012 at 14:42:20 from

Carlos ran scared that Diaz was going to hit him. The bitch slap won it for me. Fight sucked because of Carlos, not Nick. Nick wanted to fight, Carlos wanted to point spar. People want to watch a fight, not this s***. Game plan, blah blah, this is the kind of boring fights that lose fans. Yeah, I think Carlos did out point Nick. He still shouldn’t get the win. He just cost Zuffa a few million dollars by losing fans for the GSP fight.

I had Diaz winning that fight 3 – 2 rounds. I gave Diaz rounds 1, 2 and 5. To me, Diaz barely won the last round but I have no problems with the decision…I think it could’ve gone either way. Diaz was the aggressor for most of the fight but I wouldnt say that he should’ve one bc of that. Kudos to Carlos for sticking to his game plan. Hopefully Diaz, doesn’t retire and decides to add more to his game…like learning how to effectively cut off the cage.

StonedWheat Says, in 2-5-2012 at 16:14:03 from

Carlos did what he had to do to win, and I see no problem with that. If he wouldn’t have counter punched the whole game he would have taken a ton of damage and would have lost. He did what he had to to come out ahead on points. Jackson found the formula to beat Diaz and it worked. If you were Carlos, would you try to put on a good fight and lose or stick to your tactics and win, and go for the title shot?

PitfighterZ Says, in 2-5-2012 at 16:16:26 from

It’s back to basics. Carlos lured and lit up Diaz in almost every exchange. Diaz got mad because he was getting beat up and not having a chance to strike back.
More than “running,” Condit beat the crap out of Diaz. It’s just that Diaz is not human. The guy can take a beating and make it look like he didn’t even feel it. Unfortunately, looking tough doesn’t win fights. All Diaz did in the whole fight was walk into Carlos’s combos like a sitting duck and being too slow to hit him first.
Diaz is an amazing fighter, but he is very limited in leg speed and Condit exposed that. That is exactly what Roach was talking about Diaz not being a good boxer. Condit schooled him in leg work and variation of attacks.
EVERY MMA website that was following the fight scored the fight virtually the same 49-46 to Condit.
Both fighters did great, Condit was just better today. Diaz fans should be proud, but I guess this is becoming too much of a fanboy sport for any reasonable conversation to take place.

So how does Carlos win again?

PitfighterZ Says, in 2-5-2012 at 16:24:34 from

Now, for those who appreciate a good fight talk, I thought Condit could have used more direct punches, elbows, and kicks. I think Nick was really exposed to an uppercut and some elbows to the face.
Maybe Condit would have made more of a statement if he used those (still moving, though) more often instead of the attacks coming from outside.

Anon Says, in 2-5-2012 at 16:38:01 from

What was Carlos supposed to do? Just stand there and let Diaz pound on him? Carlos had a great game plan, and Diaz and his corner didnt adjust. Not every fight ends in a ko. It’s the fighter with the better plan and execution that won this one.

viking Says, in 2-5-2012 at 16:49:48 from

Don’t feed the TROLL…

I had Condit at 48-46, too, so something’s right. Oh, wait… it must be him showing Diaz that maybe less s***-talking and better fighting is gonna get the job done. Better striking, mixing it up, CONTROLING THE CAGE (which he aptly showed you can do by something other then advancing and trying to pitter-patter little rain drops for punches), solid performance. The Diaz bro’s have decent soft boxing, but against someone with a better skill set and doesn’t get lulled into their ratarded little ‘meh, meh, meh’ game… well, we’ve seen it before, and here it is again.

As for whiny’s comments afterwards: see, that’s what happens when your corner deludes you into thinking you’re up when you’re clearly down. The whole fight I was yelling at my TV between rounds, when his idiot corner kept saying s*** like ‘Alright! You got that one! You’re winning!': NO, YOU’RE NOT! It was a disservice to Diaz, as annoying as he is, to lull him into a false sense of winning, and it may have cost him the match.

Though I’m pretty sure if Diaz had been more aggressive/reckless, we’d have been treated to a nice knockout…

lewis Says, in 2-5-2012 at 16:50:17 from

As good as Nick Diaz is at what he does, why would anyone stand and trade with him? That’s just stupid. Boring,… yes,… but also stupid. Plus, I don’t respect fighters who just throw punches like a madman and expect to win every fight… they have to… ummm… I don’t know… actually land. I know casual fans love that stuff, but Carlos did what he had to do to win and that’s look for spacing and counter punches. Carlos had the same reach as Nick so he didn’t have to get into Nick’s comfort zone to hit him. Nick probably isn’t used to this… therefore he lost.

PS.Carlos had the octagon control.Diaz was never able to corner him.If you dont understand what Carlos did just to bad and go learn dome kickboxing.

Sure diaz didnt have the right game plan, coach, technical skill… but he was in there to fight. If condit was there to fight we’d really know who the better fight is – Go Diaz!

Condit clearly showed how to beat Diaz: don’t stand in front of him. Nick can only win when fighters are willing to stand in front of him and fight –hence, this is why he destroyed Daley and Penn. That being said, I don’t think he has a chance against GSP, because there is no way he will stand in front of him and brawl. But, I’m sure Diaz will fare better against GSP than Condit.

funny how some fans think that being an entertaining fighter should merit you a win. go watch WWE if that’s what you’re looking for. I think Nick Diaz is good and may have the tools to beat GSP, but Condit just had a better game plan. Don’t be a sore loser just because Condit didn’t allow himself to get sucked into Diaz’s game. so Diaz’s taunts didn’t get into Condit’s head. that just shows that he isn’t as dumb as Diaz’s other opponents. Do i think GSP is boring? yes. but I also think he’s smart for executing his game plan well. if you think brains aren’t important in this sport then you clearly don’t have one.

tally12 Says, in 2-5-2012 at 19:12:23 from

I think why all the Diaz fans are upset is because there was a lot of hype that Condit was coming to finish. Instead we got a gameplan simliar to how you win an amateur boxing match. Foot work and points not based off of contact and not damage.

I think Diaz came to show who the better man was and not worried about the result. Condit came to get the W, and left his ego at the door, but didn’t approach the fight like a true warrior as he called himself so many times.

I would’ve gladly paid to see Diaz put his hands down and taunt GSP and make him fight even if GSP wooped his ass. Instead it looks like we get the two most boring personalities in MMA combined who both display the inability to finish top tier fighters……boring

To all who are saying that Diaz won…Excuse me but you don’t know what martial arts is !!!!…The UFC has made it clear that they are trying their best to represent martial arts…meaning that this is not a street fight..this is not a backyard fight..this not a brawl fight… THIS IS MARTIAL ARTS…
A -Therefore if you look at this fight thinking “Martial Arts” then you would see an awesome display of different techniques by Condit..he basically connect on many of it : spinning backhands,Front kicks, sidekicks, spinning back elbows,Flying knees, take downs you name it… was it powerful enough to really knock out Diaz …No!!!..however THEY CONNECTED and thats what the refs count !!! … On the other end Diaz only displayed one single linear and repetitive technique —> boxing ..did he connect, yes ..did he knock out Condit, No.. So as a ref you have no choice but to give better score to Condit.
B – A lot of you are talking about Condit running… you may not be professionals but in Martial arts it is called “strategy”… “adapting” to your enemy strengh and weaknesses…how do u think that Anderson Silva is still the champ ??? by brawling ???…nope he adapts… how do u think that GSP is still the champ?? by brawling ??? no he studies his opponent….how do u think that Jose Aldo is still the Champ ?? they vary their striking !!!! their oppenent never know what to expect..and Diaz didnt know what to expect and LOST.
C – Dont get me wrong… Diaz is an awesome fighter and skilled too.. the only problem is that his temper takes over his skills during a fight. Taunting your opponent may work with non wise fighters but a Martial artist knows to stick to his plan and not to fall for any stupid technique thrown at them. Diaz didnt start kicking until the 3rd round, should have attempted more take downs, knees, spinning strikes… he should have tried to surprise Condit…instead … he was just his own regular self and very predictive..therefore Condit had no difficutly avoiding it all…

Bigevil1 Says, in 2-5-2012 at 19:49:12 from

Anyone who thinks those leg kicks were weak needs to take a couple instead of sitting their fat asses behind a keyboard and talking s*** about someone that would whoop their ass. Good decision, if Diaz was frustrated by Condits movement he should never think of trying pro boxing, cause condit doesnt move nearly as well as a top 30 boxer. Frustration makes you stay stupid things. I hope Diaz doesnt retire.theres lots of interesting fights out there for him.

Carlos Condit ran like a little girl, he slipped, dipped and evaded…whatever you want to call it he took less damage.

I like Diaz and had money on him, but I’m telling you delusional nimrods, this wasn’t even close.

If you want a league where the guy who makes the most mean faces wins, go start one, change the rules in this one or something, but stop bitching about fighters who are clearly beat like this.

Diaz is good, but he needs to be more flexible. If a guy won’t let you pin him against the cage and through body shots, YOU GOTTA TRY SOMETHING ELSE. Blaming him for not fighting the way you prefer to fight is childish.

Want any part of Diaz’s ground game, doesn’t that make Condit one dimensional? Take Awaythose useless leg strikes from Condit and you have Diaz landing more strikes in 4/5 rounds. I had Diaz for 1 and 2 Condit for 3 and 4 and if you don’t give round 5 to Diaz just for the takedown/sub attempt, at least give it to him based on it being the only aggressive action of the last 3 rounds. Condit’s win is equivalent to drawing fouls for easy free throw pOints, then milking the shot clock to get the “strategic” win. It’s legit, but abusing the parameters of the game.

mmm well round 1, 2 diaz, 3 draw, 4 condit 5 diaz, om my card and i think a lot of peoples card, 3 rounds diaz makes him the winner.

problem here is not diaz or condit, its the ufc. GSP is the fighter who is seen on pay per view more than no other, so a fight with nick diaz this soon will not happen, simply because if diaz wins the title the welterweight division will not have the income it has with gsp fighting, and this is because gsp has a fan base in Canada, USA, and Europe, Diaz does not have that much fan base so this is bad for the ufc. condit could beat GSP but this will not happen either, and i will predict now today February six 2012, that condit gsp will go to a decision in which gsp will be the winner to finally fight diaz after diaz beating a couple of more guys, and then if diaz does not finishes gsp he will lose by decision. and if winning he would retired because after defeating gsp there will be no other match interesting for diaz, he will go to boxing where he could easily make millions, gsp will go back to be the ufc as the champion and everything will be ok. so for us fans lets just be patients, its even politics in fighting.

fighter27 summed it up perfectly when he said “both fighters executed theire gameplane….good for them, bad for us.”

Here we saw Condit do a lot of running and he won with it. Bravo for him but frankly, if what’s good for the fighters is bad for the fan, there is a problem.

Put bluntly, “martial art” literally means that which is developed from actual combat, but that’s its origins. If running is now the shining pinnacle of the sport, don’t kid yourself, we’re no longer watching MMA.

Not any more-so than Olympic taekwondo which is remarkably less suited for street fights than it’s predecessor namesake.

It might be challenging. It might require supreme dedication, physicality and training. But it’s no longer martial.

yung Says, in 2-6-2012 at 02:37:03 from

Carlos condit ran the whole fight! His gameplan was to run and kick his dam legs without getting hit. Lol who does that, your really gonna train that hard for months just to kick his legs? Diaz won the first two rounds he even slapped condit for running like a b**ch. Condit won the next 2 and diaz the last with a takedown and two submission attempts plus he landed a few standing shots in the fifth. Sticking and moving is not turning your whole body around and running into the center know your boxing before you speak.

I start to watch mma to see fighter use their skills in martial arts not their skill in making efficient game plan to score as much points as possible, this is not a f****** arcade game. This starts to look just like any tournament s*** when your spend few trainings just to learn how to score points because only thing that counts for your club is winning and most simple way to do that is play safe and win by points. As for people saying this was strategy not running, compare this to Machida style which you can call strategy and good foot work. That was score points and run back to previous position.

@bruce360buffer watch those back yard brawls with kimbo slice if you just want to watch people mindlessly punching each other. Diaz did nothing except at the end round. He was out struck, out maneuvered, out thought. Thats mma. It was a fantastic match by two excellent fighters.

Nick should have thought less about gsp and more about how to beat condit. Instead of adapting during the match, he just kept trying the same old run down and punch alot technique. The problem was that condit had a gas tank the same size of nicks. Nick is not use to that, plus condit had the same reach.

These are things that Nick clearly never considered.

I thought that Nick had this win easy before the match. It just goes to show you that there’s always someone out there to beat the best.

I thought that Carlos won, but his strikes were not doing anything. He did turn his back and run to the center of the octagon the whole fight. I didn’t see one time where he tried to win the fight. I like what Rampage said about the octagon. He said it is way to big and when you have that much space guys will take advantage of it. I wish that the UFC would reduce the size of the cage and force guys to fight. Carlos was not looking to finish the fight at any point. He was trying to survive and not get finished/tired. Classic Greg Jackson gameplan which is why rating are going to continue to drop if this continues. Great gamplaning by Jackson camp, but honestly nobody can actually say that they enjoyed Carlos’ performance. Say what you will about Diaz, but his fights are exciting on the ground or standing up, but it takes two fighters to make a fight.

Carlos is just a great runner! And I really thought since Diaz runs triathlon, that sooner or later he would have caught up to him. I guess Carlos was just too fast. But besides from what should have been the (Pride) 2 yellow cardsm then red card leading to Carlos’s disqualification, my friends and I had it 1,2,5 for Diaz, 3 fairly even (slight edge to Diaz) and round 4 to Carlos.

danada Says, in 2-6-2012 at 09:35:48 from

I agree with tally12. We were all pumped for this fight and watching the videos with Condit especially promising a war reminded me of many Chris Lytle type fight of the nights where both fighters just go for it. I was expecting Condit to bang like he did with Hardy. I just didn’t think after all that talk up that he would back pedal so much. Also, I only watched it once and to really score it I’d have to watch it again closely but Diaz landed a lot of punches that snapped condits head back and some good body shots. Carlos landed a decent amount too but they look like they did no damage. Even that clean snap kick he landed right in diaz mouth looked like it barely phased him. If this wasn’t a 5 round fight and Condit looked how he did in the first 2 and even the 3rd round I would find it hard to believe that Condit would win. You don’t have to abandon all technique and go into brawl mode to make an exciting fight. It’s just a lot of the time Condit was ready to duck and run to the other side of the cage even when he was throwing, which is why it seemed barely any of his hits did damage. Like they were thrown half power because it would be easier to get out of there if he didn’t commit. Either way, I was expecting something else.

Nick’s corner screwed him over. They say (in between 4th and 5th) “he might have got that last one, but that’s it. you’re up 3 to 1″.

Nick was pushing the pace, showed more aggression, but Condit was landing more. It’s unfortunate that Condit’s greatest moment had to come in this way, but if he hadn’t played that gameplan I don’t think he would have won.

I have mixed feelings over this fight.

LOL you Diaz lovers kill me. Why train MMA at all if all you’re expected to do is slug it out, that doesn’t take a whole lot of skill. Carlos showed alot more MMA skills than Diaz and alot more class. So now poor Nick may retire because his oponents won’t stand there and let him hit them hmmm how olds Diaz? Maybe a Diaz vs Koscheck fight should happen they have the same mentality, maybe that would motivate Kos. Better yet Diaz fans…why doesn’t Nick move up to fight Anderson Silva. I’m sure he walks around over 190lbs anyway… lets call out Silva since nobody in the 170lb class will slug with him! No doubt many of you wanted GSP to move up so why not Diaz, he should have a much better chance since Silva will trade with him right! DIAZ VS SILVA !!!!CAN’T WAIT!!! COME ON DANA MAKE IT HAPPEN!

teamwand Says, in 2-6-2012 at 11:48:12 from

I am a very true mma fan. I like both fighters equally, but this is dogshit and is getting old. Diaz have to chase Calos around counts for cage control. He won rounds 1,2,3,….carlos took round 4 for sure and even with round five…..Lets be fair? Diaz should quit now, too many “fans” hate him, but real fights fans can’t get enough of his fight style! He is a champ and the best 170lb fighter by far. Can’t wait to see Carlos vs GSP….sponsored by “SERTA and SEALY” that should be a good run and lay fight. You trained these two men well Greg Jackson. Now go F*** up Jon Jones carrer next!

kill Says, in 2-6-2012 at 12:35:23 from

don’t see why people hate on diaz so much. wish he would of did more to get the decision but still he gets more respect from me in his loss, bottom line a game plan to avoid fighting to not get beat is not entertaining. so a guess gsp can keep his distance with the jab looking for the easy take down to open up, and carlos can try not to engage at all running away. now thats entertainment. now i can see why everyone is so glad diaz loss. cause when you try to actually fight and finish guys it is not the best “GAME PLAN” so in the end still a huge diaz fan and just add carlos to the ever growing fight clock heroes that all you homos love to watch and take a lot of pride in there fight clock sucsess.

round 2 Diaz
round 3 close, i give it to Diaz
round 4 Condit all day
round 5 close, but i give it to Condit.
Diaz won that fight.

Condit did a good job running away the whole time though. Hit and run… If Diaz had run after him a bit, he could have won by finish in the 3’rd or 4’th. As Condit was slowly wearing down in round 1 and 2, until Diaz stoped punching him as much, allowing Condit to recover.
If more aggressive, Diaz would win the rematch by finish, all day.

HAHAHAHA BeastW/8 Limbs.Your comment is the best here.

But the funniest thing here is people thinking Diaz should fight Silva. He got outstriked and totally dominated in stand-up by Condit.Silva would KO him in minutes.Maybe in the 2nd round.Nick isnt one dimmensional, but he isn’t complete either.Carlos just showed that Nick’s stand-up is good but no kicks in a kickboxing match will make you lose anytime. And also since he thinks it’s gay to take people down he prefers getting his ass kicked standing up like a real man instead of winning.Nick will never be complete as long as he keeps saying wrestling is gay.If he really retires I’m happy. No more retard sore loser saying stupid things like wrestling is gay I prefer Judo.Ok you prefer Judo and you showed how much your Judo was usefull in that fight. The only reason he doesnt like wrestling is because like he said in primetime he got beat in wrestling so he never got back.Like a sore loser.Nick probably has one of the best skills in his weightclass but the mental part he is one of the worst. His thugsish child attitude makes him loses every fight he lost.

That’s not the Ultimate FIGHTING Championship that’s Ultimate GAMEPLAN Championship!!!You win when you score Takedowns, Punch somebody and run without even being close to finish/or ko your opponent, you use Greasing and Hormone therapy. Jackson’s Camp is fishy. In an closed narrow alley with no time limit, Nick Diaz would have killed the Natural Born Gameplanner! Condit said it himself, if he would’ve lost against Diaz otherwise, if there wasn’t this brilliant Gameplan. Was the gameplan to outscore Diaz instead of Competing? Yeah Success!Nick Diaz had the courage and toughness to run through everything that Condit threw at him.Carlos is the Champ! but i love BJ Penn for “Fighting” Nick Diaz. Diaz was the one who put his all on the line that’s why he’s the man but not the CHAMP, ok?!

MAC Says, in 2-6-2012 at 14:38:39 from

You missed the point I was trying to make. Diaz and his followers whining because Condit wouldn’t slug with him. They want to take the one skill diaz has thats better than most and make others fight to his advantage, basically no takedowns, ju jitsu, ground and pound just stand up. So if they think he’s the best at standup move up and fight Anderson Silva and see how good his stand up is. The big push was on GSP to fight Silva so why not a stand up match between Silva and Diaz. I agree S

MAC Says, in 2-6-2012 at 14:43:21 from

ONE Question for the Condit/GSP/Greg Jackson Gameplan lovers. So Diaz was going for the ULTIMATIVE Decision: a KO or Submission and not leaving it to the judges, What the hell was Condit after? a KO on a counter strike?
Yeah let Condit an this Greg Jackson camp keep their titles. I want to watch Diaz fight again, any else? Or is Diaz to boring for you?

IF he played Diaz’s game, traded with him and lost, it would have been Condit’s fault for doing so. So it is Diaz’s fault he didn’t adjust to Condit’s gameplan, rather just played into it.

Good fight, a clear win by Carlos. I hope Diaz retires; he’s a one dimensional fighter and a sore loser that represents the negative “tough-guy, small brain” stereotype that people like Dana have gone leaps and bounds to try and change.

On a related note, it’s interesting to note that the majority of people that still think Diaz won are having trouble with their spelling and grammar, and vice versa for Condit fans :P

I’m Batman…er…I mean Bruce Wayne Says, in 2-6-2012 at 21:15:02 from

Let’s face it boys. Diaz has done what a lot of fighters do…become a specialist. Alfred tells me the Bat-Computer readouts say he is a “Boxer/Brawler” to be specific. Lot’s of fighters who’ve been around for a while do this.

Rampage Jackson is a “Boxer/Bungalow Thrower”. Specialist can be fun to watch, they are just limited because they don’t want to do anything else. You play the game their way or they’ll take their ball and go home. When you see a fighter get like these you can bet their at the end of their career. They become inflexible, either by choice or because their incapable of learning something new. They’ll never be Champions…well not to us regular people…just to the testicular clingons like yourselves their more than champions…they’re your Gods.

Anyhoo, maybe they can match him up against really some dumb mofo who didn’t see this fight and doesn’t know how to beat him Diaz. Or maybe they’ll get some guy just out of prison who thinks that the only definition of “fighting” is standing in front of a guy and chucking fists until one guy gets KTFO’d…as they say.

So for all you boys who just can’t seem to accept that Diaz lost, pull your pants up from around your ankles, spin your hat around bill forward, borrow your Mom’s computer again and this time instead of beating off to p*** or playing video games or both out once, find a copy of The Art of War online and read it.

See you gents. And as they say in the vernacular “Don’t be haters”.

paddedummy Says, in 2-7-2012 at 01:15:17 from

The problem is that mma is not boxing or kickboxing and the judging criteria is unclear, ambiguous and subjective. If this was a match in Pride fc, Condit would have been fined and disqualified and Diaz would have won. If it was a kickboxing match Condit would have won on points like he did here. Which is more entertaining to you? Seeing as how UFC is all main stream american with the gay unified rules of mma bs it is more similar to kickboxing than a real old school Pride fc mma match so Diaz should have known not to try to make it entertaining. Diaz should have just circled in the opposite direction Condit did and backed up when Condit moved forward so the judges could have given the gay decision to Diaz so the fans could get the fight they really wanted to see next against GSP and the UFC could have made more money than they will by trying to promote Condit vs GSP. Diaz really isn’t a company man and team player!

villajc Says, in 2-7-2012 at 02:30:24 from

Coming from a boxer turned into an MMA fan, Joe Rogan called Nick Diaz one of the best boxers in MMA, which is wrong. Nick is not a boxer, he is a puncher. A boxer uses footwork, feints, head movements, and so on. Nick Diaz has neither footwork, nor head movement. He does have good combinations, uses his reach, timing, and distance properly but, still not a boxer. A good puncher. Looking at the fight 2 to 3 times, it was a very close fight but I still had Carlos winning the fight. Not the most entertaining way but tactically excellent. He scored the cleaner strikes and stepped out of harm’s way most of the time. You can still win fights running from your opponent. Muhammad Ali who is one of the all-time greats was a master at that. The same way that grapplers take strikers to the ground to nullify the striker’s strengths, Carlos stayed away from Nick’s reach. Nick has superior hands and ground game while Carlos had superior kicks and footwork. So to summarize this, Carlos won because He scored the clearer strikes and kept the fight in his terms. In order to get ring generalship, you need to be effective in cutting the ring and not just walk straight towards the opponent. I think Nick can defeat GSP or win a rematch if it ever occurs.

The fact that Condit left a doubt to his victory shows he isn’t the best. Knock Nick Diaz the F*** out or submit him and shut him and his Fans up. At no time during the 5 rounds i felt Condit was going for a decisive win if he rocked Diaz and is the better striker, why wouldn’t he finish im in the octagon??? Carlos Condit’s Gamepplan wasn’t to bring a dog fight, this was some dog s***!

Justbleed Says, in 2-7-2012 at 15:57:38 from

I bet everybody of us could leg kick and punch Nick Diaz in the face an run away, if he only walks after us so slowly like in this fight. With this way of fighting anybody could outscore Nick Diaz!

Bernardo Says, in 2-7-2012 at 16:03:00 from

Ok Conduit won because the refs gave it to him based on points and IMO favortism. The fight could’ve went either way and the arguments would still be the same. The one thing this fight proved to me was that Nick is a more dangerous fighter than Conduit so thats why Conduit team chose the strategy they did which was smart. Nick definitely will gain from this if he stays in the sport and he will become even more dangerous bc he will now work on improving his foot work, kick/kick defense and wrestling/Judo. Can you imagine Nick taking people down at will like GSP!! Trust me we will see Nick vs GSP or Nick vs Conduit 2 very soon!!! But this time I can bet my last dollar Nick is gonna convincingly win over Conduit or GSP!!! This was actually a gift to him from God bc if he were to had faced GSP before Conduit the same thing would’ve happened!!!

danada Says, in 2-7-2012 at 17:04:03 from

Well, I tried my hand at scoring this fight, rewinding the video often to make sure my tallies were accurate. I also tried my best to exclude glancing blows or blocked/checked shots. Just wanted strikes that landed clean and where they were intended. The power strikes category was given mainly to shots I felt had their weight behind them and did at least some damage. For fights there are 3 judges so you can get an average score of sorts. This was just me and the camera angles in this video.

I categorized as follows: Strikes to body and head, power strikes to body and head, leg kicks, takedowns, submission attempts.

Strikes to body and head:

Diaz – 83
Condit – 69

Power strikes to body and head:

Diaz – 9
Condit – 6

Leg kicks:

Diaz – 8
Condit – 49

Diaz – 1
Condit – 0

Submission attempts:

Diaz – 2
Condit – 0

Condits leg kicks may seem low, but I tried to exclude the kicks that were caught by Diaz, checked or those little front pushes to Diaz’ shins that condit was using for distancing.

You can scrutinize these numbers and I welcome it. I just tried to go through this fight thoroughly once. Just thought it would be interesting to try.

I thought he would do what every other Diaz opponent has done. He did not let Diaz pummel him. The only way Condit knew to avoid getting pummeled was to move completely out of range and it looked like running to some people. Condit did not know how to avoid getting pummeled while staying within striking range.
Did Condit throw even 1 single fully committed strike?
How many times did Condit kick Diaz in his mouth?
How many times did Condit elbow Diaz in his mouth?

Also, this is another fight from the commentary side that has me disliking Rogan even more. Seriously, someone needs to get in his face with a mic and camera and interrogate his sorry ass.

I’d rather watch/listen to Eddie Bravo doing bong hits while giving round per round commentary than listen to Rogan.

In his latest video he(Rogan) is recanting and giving the fight to Diaz. Hey Joe — I’ve just finished watching the Condit-Diaz fight for the 3rd time and not only do I see Condit stick to his game plan, I’m listening to you to you describe that very thing. ” Rogan: I think Condit is winning this fight — Goldie: I agree 100% …”

Carlos Condit was the better man, him and his camp had a great game plan. I don’t know how they would do in a rematch though. Diaz was totally surprised by the kicks and the different angles Carlos presents. I am sure Diaz would make the adjustment in the rematch and win.

Lucas… Says, in 2-9-2012 at 19:34:55 from

So much hate for Condit and his gameplan… so riddle me this, haters. Should all fighters train as Díaz? Cardio, punches and BJJ just in case it goes to the ground? I guess it would be interesting, watching both fighters during 15 or 25 minutes walking forward, throwing punches until one of them gets knocked down because he got squared with a big hit. That’s Heavyweight boxing today. That is slow, and far from entertaining. And that is, for sure, something I don’t wanna see. Nick Diaz should have used his head and find a way to lure Condit into his game; walking forward is NOT the answer to fight a fast walker, and anyone who has practised MMA or boxing knows it.
