Carlos Condit UFC 137 Pre Fight Interview – Talks Championship Shot Against Georges St-Pierre.
I wonder how much the two have trained together in the past.
Go Condit!
Condit will make this boring point fighter have to engage. I’m calling Condit as the new champ.
From the sounds of things, they were at the same gym, but hadn’t trained together. I suppose Greg’s got enough people around that, they might have seen each other train, but not actually trained with each other.
Condit’s got a shot. Not necessarily due to his skill level, (although he is good) but due to George being out of his comfort zone.
@Rocco55
GSP said they crossed path at Jackson’s but they never trained.I just wonder how much Jackson trained any of them or if he just didn’t train them at all for this fight.
Man I wish him luck …..
I would love for Condit to win…but lets be honest GSP has faced every different type of striker, wrestler, BJJ, when at that time were very good tough fighters, Koshcheck, Hardy, BJ,
Alves, Shields. All these fighters were in their prime when they fought GSP. Condit I love, but really he is nothing different then everyone else GSP has fought. I believe he is going to get beat up standing or on the ground by GSP the entire fight. The one person who I would like to see man handle a few more people then get a shot is Rory Mcdonald, even though they train together I think they will fight…….. EIHER WAY I believe watching this weight class fight for the no. 1 contender spot is much more entertainig then GSP wrestle or jab a guy for 5 rds.
Jackson, head coach, I’m guessing probably plays favourites like he did with Jon Jones over Rashad. He’ll watch Condit train, get the inside scoop, and feed Georgies tips to help his prize fighter win, so he can make big bucks too. LOL. I wouldn’t be surprised.
i like condits fight style, but he is just wayyy tooo slow. GSP has an easy one
GSP will take him down with ease, pound the s*** out of him on the ground, end of story.
I wish someone could match up that was a great thai fighter to snap shin and thigh kicks on gsp but he will catch it after a few and hold them down and make it boring..The only thing ive noticed from the sheilds fight is he panics when he is really hurt exp his eye etc, id like to see an eye gouge and a real fight..
@SinkTheHooks: I think Condit’s best chance is to use his knees and elbows (especially from the bottom) to cut GSP. GSP cuts easily and if Condit works a gash on GSP’s bald head for 3 or 4 rounds, the doctor might stop it.
I hope condit hurts GSP, hes beyond boring
@pitfighterZ Id like to see Condit work a cut too..keep in mind that condit is a beast and he can knockout gsp with one punch like matt serra did in their 1st fight!
I think I’m gonna roll with Hanabahn on this one and say this is going to be an upset. GSP has been losing his fire the last couple of years and Condit just doesn’t break.
I’m betting we see Condit vs Diaz next title fight!
gsp will take him down all day and win by decision. the ususal
Why is it that Matt Hughes can slam a guy to the mat and lay on him and he’s called the greatest ever,watch hughes vs lytle fight.When Hughes stands with someone he loses. GSP stood with Bj,Koscheck,Fitch,Hughes,Avles,etc and won hands down.Why aren’t people knocking these guys for not being able to do jack against GSP. They all talk of what they going to do against GSP then get in the ring and do squat! Give GSP some credit he’s good but doesn’t take many chances if these guys can’t solve him too bad.
@thxer Diaz has to get past BJ first before he even gets another match you dumba$$!
@steve STFU you mutt..GSP has gay stand up and all those fighters u mentioned..GSP didnt brawl or go toe to toe with them, he took them down layed on em and grinded out a terrible decision as he always does usually..
condit is a good fighter but its hard to believe him beating GSP. GSP is just too good in all areas! but again its a fight one mistake and one punch can end it.
@steve
You know what you are talking about.
@Dick Diaz
Brawling=Bad striker.Good strikers never brawl.Have you ever seen Silva(Anderson) or Machida brawl?But they are the best strikers.The base of striking is hitting somebody without getting hit.If you don’t do that you’re not a good striker and will get dismantled by a real striker.
I don’t like when gsp fights because when he fights he doesn’t win by vicious knock out so that means he is boring.
He only knows how to out class top level fighters but anyone can do that so that not special. Why he cant put him self at risk to lose fight and try for spectacular KO so I can be more entertained?
@kungfulowkick Machida got KTFO by Shogun..best strikers huh?? But naw I feel you man.. Machida can bang standing..i hear ya
@kungfulowkick What I meant was GSP avoids striking by taking his opponents to the ground and grapples instead of being a top striker and avoid punches by slipping them with bobs n weaves, ducks n leans and following through with a devastating counter like anderson
@dick MMA = MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. So what you’re saying is that MMA fighters with a jujitsu or wrestling background should have to forget about all that training slug it out with a striker.If Royce Gracie was required to stand and slug it out there would be no MMA today!.There are lots of fighters that hit harder and faster than GSP but i think you’re a little confused with your comments.Too bad you can’t ask Fitch,Kos,Hughes about GSP’s stand up.Fitch was dropped 3x in round 1 alone,Hughes was TKO’ED via kick to the head and strikes to follow, BJ lost the stand up and ground fight and Kos just took jabs to the face all night with no offence to speak of. When you stand and slug there’s always the chance of getting caught. Look at Chael Sonnen ,he caught Silva a couple times but I don’t think anyone that knows MMA would say he has better standup than Silva….except Sonnen himself!
