SanClemente, Edgar is not a runner. He shows up to fight every time, he cuts NO WEIGHT and fights guys who are bigger than him. And he stands in the pocket for many of his exchanges. He also has finished a good number of his UFC fights. Edgar is the definition of a fighter. Condit annoyed me with his performance against Diaz. However, he was not Caleb Starnes. He was just not the same intense and aggressive fighter that he usually is and that was disappointing. Cruz has an awkward style, but he also brings the fight. To call him a runner is also BS. I liked Faber’s joke though, he is not the ‘dominator’, he is the ‘decisionator’.

I’ve got a better chance making it out of the first round with Condit. I don’t run like a bitch, though, so Diaz would put out in round one. I’ll not pay for another Condit fight until he shows he isn’t terrified of getting hit again. I won’t pay for another GSP fight period unless its against Diaz. The only reason people are defending Condit is because of their dislike of Nick. Otherwise nobody would have found that fight entertaining.

Go to your local toughman competition and watch a couple of idiots go to town on each other. Whether you like it or not, the landscape of mma is changing. Successful mixed martial artists of the future will have the brains to go with the brawn. GSP just happens to be ahead of the curve. If you don’t believe me, just check out the gymnastic training he does. You see GSP doing “ring” training and probably shake your head. (pissed off that you can’t come to grips with the fact that pound for pound, gymnasts are easily the most well-conditioned and most powerful athletes on the planet…bar none!!!) I could go on and on. Can you imagine that style in Pride? The ref would end up striping Condit of his purse.
The only reason why the “point system” is structured like it is was to get MMA sanctioned. Virtually all of the old school has to be looking at Condit and shaking their collective heads. That is not fighting… that is pointing.

I thought the fight was great. That’s how you fight someone like diaz, you back up, circle, and hit him when he comes forward.
Condit hit him repeatedly the entire fight, and only made a few mistakes which Diaz did capitalize off of.
And, as for those being “baby kicks” – what do you call Diaz’ fetus kicks?
Float like a butterfly man, not walk forward and get hit in the face for five rounds.

Condit is a great fighter. If you watch some of his old fights he beats the crap out of people and has some crazy tough subs. With that said I’m a huge Diaz fan and will watch any fight Diaz is in. I think Jackson does whatever to win. He knows Diaz would beat the crap out of Condit toe to toe or on the ground so he makes the gameplan to win this way if thats what it takes. Jackson is the man when it comes to making gameplans for his fighters to win, but not always the most exciting fights from his fighters. Just my opinion.

it was smart for condit to run cause if he hadnt of ran he would have lost the fight. for those who say he didnt run, go back and watch the fight. there were multiple times where condit literally had his back to diaz and RAN. props to condit for the strategy, you got what you want. now hold on to that fake title as tight as you can cause your in for a long night when you face the real champion. my biggest beef with condit about that fight was leading up to the fight he stated “IT IS GOING TO BE A DOG FIGHT”. and to me it looked more like a lion vs a gazelle. on top of that hes too scared to defend the title? way to take a division that has a frozen champion, open it up with an interim title, then freeze it again by being to scared to defend a FAKE BELT. lost a lot of respect for condit that night and if i ever met him in real life id tell him he owes me 50 bucks.

First of all Diaz is and has been for awhile my favorite fighter.I like his style and damn it’s entertaining when he taunts his opponent during the fight.That said Condit was smart to move away. why let a guy you know can out box you do it. Even if Condit fought a smart fight, which he did because if he had fought any other type of fight he would have lost. However no one can actually sit here and say that they like watching that horseshit!! People like Diaz because he does not avoid the fight. He fights the entire time and works hard from the top and bottom when the fight goes to the ground. I think Diaz’s motto is I would rather go in and lose trying to finish the fight than try to do just enough to win and be called a coward. Obviously Condit won the fight, he just did it in a bitch fashion. He didn’t “beat up” Diaz, he out pointed him. If you want to call it a smart fight, okay.
