UFC Interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit was on the Nov. 13 installment of “UFC Tonight” and discussed Saturday’s main event with welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Carlos Condit was asked directly of he though GSP’s knee is fair game. “Yeah man, I think so,” said Condit. “If someone in the cage, you can’t say ‘hey man that is off limits.’ There are no time outs, there are no substitutions.”
GSP’s knee is not off limits but Condit’s vagina is
Will GSP lay down and stay down faster then Carlos Condit run away and stay away?

This needs to be made an illegal technique. It’s a move that can put a guy out of competition for up to, or more than, a year.
I cringe every time I see it, and starting to hate fighters like Jones who rely on it heavily.
At least allow these guys to be walking vegetables in their old age.

Hey Shitface, check out Condit’s record. If you are going by the Diaz fight, maybe watch a couple more fights before s***-talking someone who actually gets into the cage and only has had 2 of his 28 wins go to decision.
Based on Stockton Rules, Diaz had more signs of damage = loss. While it wasn’t the go-all-out fight I anticipated, Diaz could have adapted better to the gameplan versus acting like a child not getting his way. And BTW, I do like Diaz.

Though it was a close fight, I had 3 rounds to 2 for Diaz. But considering that Condit should have had point deductions for refusing to engage, Diaz definitely should have won.

Well yeah there are rules though in the ring and personally I think shots to the knee should be banned. They’re extremely damaging and cheap. Now if someone pulls off a difficult move like a kneebar, that’s a different story because it takes a high level of talent to pull that off successfully. but a swift low kick to the knee? Any bum can do that. It’s like a stomp or soccer kick to the head or kick to the groin as far as I’m concerned…and a groin shot takes you out for what…5 to 10 minutes at most? While a damaged knee takes you out for a year at most..
if i thought this way before a fight i would never reveal it to the public!

Absolutely agree. I find that knee strike that jones throws all the time to be super cheap and he does rely on it heavily. It’s legal but to me it’s almost as cheap as an eye poke

Yeah those front kicks and side kicks to the leg who are getting popular really don’t make any sense to me.I always thought attacking the knee was illegal because it’s cheap and cowardly but I guess I was wrong since I saw Leites get hit like that by Silva.And like you said it doesn’t take skills to hit a knee,they show that in women’s self defense classes.

I know fanboys are delusional.Kalib Starnes refused to engage,Clay Guida refused to engage,and even if I like him Mark hominick too refused to engage.Condit used the stick and move strategy wich has been a common strategy in every fighting sports for years.It’s just those hockey fight/wwe fans who have no idea how to fight and who excpect to see two guys trade and not move.They should watch hockey fights or Xarm if they want to see dumb people fighting.
What Carlos did is basicly what every striking martial arts teach you.Feint alot and hit the most possible and get hit the least possible.And what Nick did is what every martial art teaches you not to do.Whine and bitch instead of adapting.You can talk all the crap you want but when you are talking s*** and losing,it just makes you look dumber.
Carlos did GREAT “hitting” but there was intentionally nothing behind any of it. Forest Griffin at least TRIED to hurt Rampage with his leg kicks. Condit maximized his run defense by not sitting on anything,i.e., his shots scored but were completely worthless and set nothing up because he ran after getting them in

I don’t train much MT anymore but I’ve done it. Maybe you don’t understand what I’m saying
my understanding, as a lot of other fighters have stated publicly, was that knee shots (specifically the style jones uses effectively) were banned. I always thought they just didn’t call it because I was sure I read it in the rulebook. However, memory can be fleeting and its been used so blatantly that I guess it is legal.

I’m so tired of people talking $hite about condit vs. diaz.he was “running the whole time”yet he outstruck diaz.If you wanna fault someone it would have to be the mma fighter who does not know how to cut off the cage.why chase a guy for 25min when you can just cut him off.as for gsp’s lay and pray(sonnens style)…please, every fighter knows georges style,they study tape.If they can’t get/fight off their backs then they are not complete enough to challenge gsp’s super effective style.georges has as many stoppages as sub wins and decisions perfect triangle=complete fighter.btw diaz’s face didn’t look like carlos didn’t engage or just “touched” him for points.its mma not hockey or streetfighting.brawlers can go so far intelligence brings you to the top.
