Damn!.. I really detest American MMA fans…. they don’t seem to know their ass from their elbows, and yet they think they know MMA. Sad sacks of shit they are, from their columnist to the average joe they swallow at being MMA fans.

Good fight though… nice grappling, Condit is quick with his guard… and good from it… too bad Prater was not trying for submissions, I guess he must be a wrestler… since he was trying for the GnP on top position.

I just saw a vid of a guy pulling a flying arm bar in an MMA match… boy… I sure would love to see one of those in a UFC match.

I also saw a skilled fighter leglock another skilled fighter…. that was nice… I love leg locks… not the Mir-on-Lesnar type though.

Wow, Condit can really fight off the guard. Carlo couldn’t even launch his own attack and I know Condit is good but to get caught with the same move twice in a row? Come on dude. Condit should try fighting talented fighters in the UFC. I think he’ll do really well.

Condit has stated that he will look at a move to the UFC once his fight contract with WEC is over (which is after his next fight). I expect Zuffa to do more of what they did last night Featuring 135-145 fighters in WEC and use the 155-205 divisions as kind of a UFC “minor league” to get air time // recognition for the guys @ 155-205 that aren’t quite enough of a draw to be on a UFC ppv.

Mefninja, are you trying to tell us that if a fighter is not Hughes or GSP they’re not ready for UFC?? I believe that there are a bunch of other welterweights in the UFC other than Hughes, GSP and even Sera. But, with Condit’s talent (I’ve seen his other fights) I would like to see a Condit vs. Hughes fight. Hughes is a mediocre stand up fighter but is a superb submission specialist and Condit has a pretty good stand up and fights of the guard very well. Alot of people would want to see this fight.

Glad to see Condit’s starting to get more recognition. I can’t say if he’s ready to fight some of the UFC’s top WW contenders, yet, but he’s shown himself to be up there. And he’s only 23.

At Rumble on the Rock 8 he beat Renato “Charuto” Verrisimo (B.J. Penn’s ground coach) via knees to the head at 17 seconds in the first round.

At Rumble on the Rock 9 he subbed Frank Trigg (triangle armbar)at 1:22 of the first round. He then lost a decision to Jake Sheilds that same night. Even though he lost, the fight shows Condit’s exemplary guard, which Shields wasn’t able to pass (he’s very skilled at passing guard.)

Just a year later, he subbed Alessio for the interim title and then Larson to defend it. We all know that part. What’s interesting here is that about 10 months earlier, Diego Sanchez won a decision over John Alessio, but wasn’t able to finish him. Jon Fitch won a similar decision over Brock Larson about a year and a half before the Condit match, and similarly Fitch could not finish Larson. Condit, on the other hand, finished them both in rounds 2 and 1, respectively, in championship bouts.

There’s really nothing left for him in WEC, unless Torres was to go up/Condit was to go down. I think it would be awesome if Condit moved to UFC. Hughes/Condit… Sanchez/Condit… Marquardt/Condit… would all be great bouts, IMO. I think Condit’s got a bright future.
