Cain Velasquez Talks Strategy Against Brock Lesnar For UFC 121 With Mike Straka.

Who you got on this Bruno? I have Lesnar crushing him after the 1st round. Cain’s got a little more than a punchers chance I think.
Bruno: still undecided.
Viva La Raza esse! Brown Pride!
Most well rounded, skilled heavyweight in the UFC, too bad he’s undersized.
His conditioning may overcome this disadvantage.
Kind of tired of the hyphenated American crap, can’t we all just be Americans without the ethnic label?
if brock land of top of him the fight is over ,on the other hand if this fight go to a stand up fight is gonna be a long 4 brockoly, but every won knows that this fight is going to the ground no matter what
Cain’s strategy doesn’t matter because he’s goin to the ground and gonna get pounded on by the champ. Brock wins this by tko in round 2.
I think Brock will show his power both in the stand up and on the ground.
Cain is just to small to push him off once he is on top.
This dude has a chance of knocking Lesnar out – but Cain is a hell of alot smaller than Brock.
Definitely stands a good chance, two time all american wrestler.Better than brock in the stand up, and more importantly seems to be one of the fittest heavyweights in the division.
Cain is a great fighter, but this will be his first loss.
dude this fight doesnt even matter since dos santos will take the belt since hes next in line against both of these guys…
Cain needs to keep it on the feet and use his wrestling to get out of bad positions.
I think it will turn out like the superfight in UFC 14, Cain being Maurice Smith and Brock being Coleman. Cain will weather the storm of takedowns and GnP, then Brock will gassssssssss. Then Cain will play it safe for the UD! lol Ok so I hope its better than that…KO!â™
What is he talking about with submission not being that great?? It was a tight arm triangle.
I’m as big a Brock fan as anyone… but the idea floating around that Brock can take Cain down at will and just hold him on his back like he did Mir or Carwin is just further evidence of the total wrestling illiteracy that still exists amongst many MMA fans.
In a straight wrestling match Brock probably wins, sure, but by a score of 1-0 or 2-1, with no back exposure. Cain is in Brock’s league as a wrestler, unlike just about anyone else who’s fought Brock. The exception, of course, is Randy Couture, who outwrestled Brock, to the shock of all the wrestling illiterates who have no concept of the difference between an NCAA D 1 champ and a friggin’ Olympic alternate.
Cain takes this one.
racist mexicans, la raza = the race
How soon people forget how Randy was able to get up twice from having Brock on top of him. Randy is significantly smaller than Cain. Cain is great in scrambles, has terrific cardio, and is an explosive wrestler. This fight is NOT over even if he gets taken down. My prediction is that Cain will stick and move, get taken down once or twice but get back up, and then stuff Brock’s takedowns. By the third round, Brock will start running out of gas and Cain finishes with a stoppage like Carwin should’ve done.
Do i cheer for brock the guy i hate or do i cheer for cain whos a mexican….which i’m not fond of either. I just carwin or junor to blast these guys regardless
we left all stupid ethnic/brown pride comments in that other cain page.
hope he does well against that monster..
go cain no cocain
Not a Brock fan and never will be. Can’t wait to see him lose.
I don’t think Cain stacks up to Brock as a collegiate wrestler, but he was still a great collegiate wrestler at 50-10 overall. If I remember right Brock was 56-3, and Brock was inviting to the Olympic training camp, but instead he joined the WWE. Comparing Randy to Brock is completely stupid, and two totally different styles of wrestling (personally I believe greco is the weakest). Brock lost his first attempt at a collegiate national title to Neal who is a 3 time Superbowl winning guard with the pats, and who also won the 1999 freestyle world championship.
To rebute your point. Cain V is no Brock Lesnar.
Brown Pride tattoo’s are the Mexican Mafia, Cains a getto gang member. His wrestling style is boring and Brock will beat his ass….no chance.
it appears that Drew has done his homework!!! I concur…
I love how before every fight that Brock has people comment how his opponent will do this or that. Then when fight night comes and Brock takes the win everyone just can’t believe it. Cain is not going to win this, Brock’s size, strength, and superior wrestling will wear Cain down. Brock wins by tko in the 2/3 round. When Brock beats Cain he will be the longest reigning HW Champion in UFC history. No one has defended the HW title succesfully 3X until now, Brock will be the first.
swordmansmith…i absolutely disagree!!! Cain is going to take Brock’s belt…Bet on it!
@chiroguy True I could bet on it, just like all the people that bet on carwin to take his belt but then I’d lose money.
Another “undefeated” challenger with a 1 comin up in the loss column. Again the only way to be undefeated in the HW division is to not get into the octagon with Brock.
