Cain Velasquez Talks Overeem, Junior Dos Santos, And Josh Koscheck.
CAINS THE MAN
Why does ethnicity only seem to matter to Americans in the case of hispanic fighters?? No one gets all excited about a fighter of African decent, i.e. Jones, Guillard, Rashad Evans, etc… In other words, an American would never say to Jones that he has extra pressure because all people who have African blood are counting on him to win. It’s just not the same for other ethnic persons living in America. What am I missing??
Why does the emphasis have to be that he’s a Hispanic fighter? how about he’s just a fighter and leave it at that,
go back to mehico!!
Well at least he keeps it real on his feelings towards JDS choosing Reem. He could have been more of a company man like Condit and kept quiet hoping the UFC doesnt forget about him.
Cain seems less robotic than usual.
this guy is f****** machine his focus reminds me a lot of Fedors and for sure hell get the title back no doubt
Like Cain but as I’ve said before I hope JDS knocks him silly.
Cain will be champ again, believe that!
wtf are they talking about? they sound retarted
This guy is way better than Ariel Howyuwanit… not a sh!t disturber… must be because this guy’s not jewish, so he can’t get away with that sh!t
I hope Cain wipes the floor with Junior’s face
@Joe Dog I think the problem is that other fighters aren’t really pushed as the ethnic fighter as much. Plus the other fighters that are mention are ACTUALLY from the country they are talking about. The brasilian fighters are actually from brasil.
Have you ever heard an interviewer come up to rampage or jones and say, being of african descent, what are your feelings on how it affects other african american youth.
They don’t give a s***, they are american. Thats it. Cain is american and they are pushing this angle with his heritage to try to branch out into the mexican market. Its kinda low.
If he really wanted to get into the mexican market, then get a friggn mexican!! He does it for every other market.
I wonder how i would be treated if i got white pride tattooed across my chest?
@Joe Dog
Race is a complex and rich history in the States.
Basically, with Mexicans the issue is that there culture is rich is Boxing history. It’s taken a while for the Mexican culture to embrace MMA. But they have, and there is a whole generation of young Mexicans that will most likely be in the lighter weight classes.
Exactly. Marketing! Valasquez is an American, born there, raised there, trained there, got his racist tattoos there. Look at “ethnic” Mexicans in their native land. They are largely “Meztiso”, a mix of European and Amerindian. By his look (and size, Valasquez ain’t no Incan or Mayan) he is obviously more of European descent, probably Spanish (but don’t rule out Irish). So for the sake of profit let’s expand his market by trying to get Europeans on board. Cut the BS, Valasquez is 100% American. All promotion aside, as a fighter, he is a serious threat to any HW of any skin color from any country by way of any other country.
The only “Latino” thing thing about the reporter is the way he said latino.That’s what I don’t understand,he has good english ith no accent,except for the word latino…
zzzzzzzzzzzzz. they done yet? god this guy is boring. and yes i know…your mexican
@4M you disgust me!! You better hope Cain or some other Mexicans don’t catch you. There gonna treat you like a pinata. First they’re going to stuff you (With something I won’t care to mention) and then beat you till they split your wig!!
I guess alot of you guys are missing the fact that Cain was the first HW Mexican Champion ever!!! Thats why they stress how important his role is to the Mexican and Mexican-American fans and MMA fighters. Not only that but a majority of any fighters fans are of his own nationality. So thats why they stress how big its to Latin fans especially Mexicans. Ofcourse, Dana is marketing this to his advantage to increase his market in Mexico.
@JoeDog
It’s simple really: Black boxers paved the way already. Cain is the first Mexican Heavyweight Champion, that’s huge. So in essence, he’s what Ali was to African-Americans, but to Mexicans. 10-20-30 years from now, there will be many Mexican fighters, champions and they will all remember Cain, like all African-Americans remember Ali.
reporter is an idiot guy had ONE fight after the Jr loss and he WORKED his way back up no way first time UFC fighter is not working your way back up.
Cain is a great fighter wish him luck in the future.
go back to mehico mad madam or whatever your name is shut the f up please and talk about fighting.Damn racist people always mad cause were multiplying our numbers i dont know why your mad we f@## hella white girls here in cali man we spread the love and the seed.I remember half the country was mexico and mexicans lost it we didnt cry about it.We just took it back via latin culture food f@@@@@ salsa music the white girls like,dont hate there will be a mexican in your family soon via your sister.Who the hell hates mexican food its f@!#! ju no bro i likeit thee white people they mucho fun
Cain ‘Glass Jaw’ Velasquez will go to sleep if he fights dos santos again or if hes really unlucky, overroid.
If Valasquez’ parents were from Lithuania or even Argentina, no one would care to mention his ethnicity. He was born in the USA. He is American. Look at Overeem. He is of African descent, born in England, raised in Holland. He is considered Dutch, not English and certainly not African. The case of Americans calling themselves “Mexican” is bizarre. (To me).
