Bully Beatdown Using Pro Stuntmen To Act Part Of Bully

I knew from the beginning that the show advertised for tough guys to apply and they would be chosen based on some sort of bully mentality towards their friends. I did not find out until a few days ago that not one of the bullies had in fact, ever bullied the actors that have played the part of the victims.

I spoke with a friend that helped with the production of the show and was told that most of the bully/victim combo had never even met prior to the taping of each episode.

Take bully Jon from the last episode with Jake Shields. Last year he was on the Fox TV show Battle of the Bods where Jonathan proclaimed to be a professional stuntman as he judged the bodies of young women.

Even though Bully Beatdown is filled with actors the fights are mostly real. The stuntmen do try to fight back against the Pro MMA fighters but their payday comes not from the 10,000 prize money offered up but from the money guaranteed on the contract they signed going into the fight.

I knew that the show was a little fake but I am disappointed in just how fake it really is.

The idea/concept is a good idea in itself. The police depts should hire MMA practitioners to whoop the asses of all these punk kids. Who know, it could change lives and in the process get them off the streets, and into the gyms to be martial artists. MMA is brutal, violent, and too much for some, but at the same time, with rules like the UFC have, it is safe to the point where they’ll fix you up if you’re broken. MMA is a way of life, a way to stay out of trouble, and if you’re any good, a way to earn a check, and possibly a spot in the UFC. It’s a shame that the show is fake, cuzz I’m sure they could find real story lines no problem. I’ll still watch it for the fights, cuzz that’s what I FF to anyways. Peace to anyone who read this.

Almost all if not everyone of the shows MTV has aired is fake or the situations are staged. I noticed this a long time ago with shows like the Hills, Viva La Bam, etc. They all have staged situations for dramatics. I still like Rob & Big regardless but the other shows are just fucking retarded to watch.

NEWS FLASH! the only reality in reality TV is the fact that there are real people (as opposed to animated characters) on them. I’ve known 2 people who have been on reality TV shows, and everything (I mean) EVERYTHING is staged. Perhaps aside from the fights on TUF, everything else is staged. I can tell this show was bullshit when the two guys who were “bullied” complained how the “bully” never paid rent and even had to move out because his credit was shot since they had to compensate for the “bully’s” rent. So instead of something called the legal system to settle their score, they go through MTV. COME ON MTV, AT LEAST MAKE THE PREMISE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC!

Oh, the person has to be slammed to a wall by the bully at least once an episode.

never liked the show anywayz. Even if it was real, whats the point? Is it teaching the bullies a lesson? I’m sure there’s some truth to this article but the premise that all the bullies are stunt men is just as stupid as believing that the show is completely real. The truth usually lies somewhere in between.

Bruno: I did not say all of the bullies were pro stuntmen but some claim to be. Any person who climbs into a cage with one of these fighters and are not pro fighters but get paid to fight are, in a way, a stuntman.
The problem I have with the show is that the victims were never bullied in the first place. In most cases they have never even met each other. That is what the show is claiming to represent.

How can this be a surprise to anybody? Seriously, it’s an entertaining show but there’s never been a doubt in my mind that it’s fake. The stories are too cornball. Mayhem cannot be faulted in the least for doing this show. It’s called “gettin’ paid”. I think he’s funny and the show is good for the sport. It will bring more people over to watch real MMA. It’s an entertaining 30 minutes that helps the sport. Win/Win.

I produce and edit on the show and that punk is really getting his ass kicked.

He may have been on another reality show, he may even have snuck it by us that he has mma training, but these guys are all douchebags and they all can’t believe how it feels to get beat around, for once.

If the victims embellish how bad they’ve gotten picked on, we let it roll, but that’s about as close to ‘fake’ as it gets.

Season 3 is in the pipeline… less crying by the victims, bigger name fighter… and maybe even an mma co-host.

There have already been several interesting articles and interviews with the bullies in the dressing room after the fight. They discussed the many different ways they dealt with their asskicking.
