Story of two eight year old girls fighting in rural Thailand’s underground child boxing economy to earn money to support their families.
when is this movie coming out B
Bruno: Just now hitting the film festival circuit. I has not been picked up by a studio yet.
Wow, this sucks. but better than being forced into sexual slavery.
A child should not have to fight like this and have such adult worries. Its sad really.
Intense
WOW the guy is yelling dont make crying faces when she’s 8 and getting he face broken in pieces. We should be ashamed when we see our North american 8 year olds with their cellphones and fat asses…
this should be considered abuse, and this film should not be distributed.
I rather have any daughter of myne doing this. And DEVELOPING her into a strong willed person. Than I would putting her into some bueaty pagent contest. This is a reflection of what life is really like if we take away the protection of society. Training like this is building great strength for a life in the jungle. How would any of you end up if it all fell apart tommorow and the streets were awash with Riots, starvation and cannabalism??
Guns Scorpius. Those people are sick.
People who are not coming from third world countries will not understand the way of life these people have to face everyday. Poverty is the main reason for this, it is better for them doing this than are force to be in child prostitution to buy some food for their family. Agree with you @Scrpius, these is better than some American that force their kids to enter beauty pageant contest.
Scorpius – don’t have children. ever. I beg to the high heavens that you are never involved in the rearing of a child.
I am one of few people who doesnt find this that bad?? I mean FFS I was playing rugby, fighting in school yards and doing judo at 8 years old and I loved it and I turned out ok.
I love me some Muay Thai but this is f***** up.
Kids should be going to school, learning and playing not fighting for money.
People in developed wealthy countries have NO IDEA how good they have it.
Scorpius, it’s safe to say we all hope you don’t and never will have a child of your own. What a dreadful comment; you really are a dumb f@#k. Can you even grasp the severity of the brain damage a young child like that can suffer? Not for the love of the sport, but as a form of forced slave labor. Please do humanity a favor and castrate yourself asap.
On second thought I think I’m being a little harsh;that video got me all emotional, forget the castration, just get a vasectomy/tubes tied asap.
GJ Scorpius… Learning Muay Thai at 7-8 years old would definitely keep you safe, healthy and successful amongst riots, famine and cannibalism… wow you’re a dumb f***** just waiting to screw up an innocent child’s life.
KIDS SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DO THIS. Kids are supposed to play in mud and ride bicycles and not worry if their faces will be smashed that weekend. I would find something to do instead before i would sell my kid to a Don King of kid fighting.
ps: I grew up in a war zone and had to watch my parents struggle for everything. F*** their fathers for allowing this. Family first!
you ALL need to relax.
weather this is right or wrong, there is wayy worse s*** going on in the world right now.IMO, no, I don’t think this is right, but NONE of us have a clue what it’s like to live in a third world country. Call me arrogant, but after only watching that short clip, my guess is MOST of those girls are not being forced to fight by their families.
There are far worse things that happen to kids in the world. I agree with scorpious.
They say that this newest generation in north america are the first that won’t live as long as their parents. They are so fat and lazy that thier bodies will fail them much faster.
These girls will have a tough life for sure, but there are far worse occupations for children out there INCLUDING soldiers.
Stop looking at thier lives through your own value system. Most of us grew up with a much better life so we dont realise how much worse the world can be for most people.
I’d rather these kids live with self respect from winning or losing by thier own skills then being some f*** toy for some fat tourist or living on the street.
I come from a rich country where kids younger than these grab machine guns and shoot each other for a few grams of cocaine or simply for the f*ck of it.
Their parents shoot police helicopters with bazookas and their moms prostitute themselves to get their fix.
Actually, it also happens a lot in the US (ever heard of gangs and drug cartels?), but I’m talking about Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
So, cut the “poor country” crap and realize that this is the sh*tty core of the human condition. Awful people who allow this kind of crap are born anywhere.
These kids, in all the horror they will see in their lives, will at least have fought for that survival. How many are just left to die with no options?
For me, it’s much worse when people with money and education do the same to their kids using other “excuses” to hide the fact they are, too, exploring their kids.
Definitely a sad predicament for those kids but I agree that it is a viable alternative to child prostitution and sweat shops.
Sorry Nogi…But your point of view is tainted by todays politically correct society. Your opinion lives behind the protection of your soldiers and police officers. If it was every man woman and child for themselves right now this very minute. Would you want your children prepared for war ASAP??? Look at the animal kingdom, every animal has to learn how to fight, run, kill and survive from day one. We are the same in our most basic elements. You think an Iphone changes anything?
Look out, Cyborg. Here they come.
Apparently some of you soft headed retardeds who think this is child abuse haven’t been to Thailand before. If poor kids aren’t doing Muay Thai, they are working in the fields for pennies, if they aren’t doing that, then they are selling flowers on the streets, if they aren’t doing that, they are getting sold into sexual slavery, if they aren’t doing that, they are sitting or laying face down on the street begging for money. I’d say Muay Thai is one of the better deals for these poor kids.
Not cool at ALL!!!!!
Its easy to judge a third world country through our first world fat asses. Often times we have no first hand experience on what it is like to live in abject poverty. These poor folks are force to make a decision and I am somewhat glad these girls chose to fight than service a mans sexual needs. Choose the lesser of the two evils and in this case they chose one…to fight.
@scorpius I pray for that day to come. I want to see all these know it all zombies squirm.
I think the welfare recipients/drug dealers living in subsidized housing in the US should have their kids do this. At least it will give them a work ethic and allow them to gain some discipline…. Instead of being a leach on society for generations.
@WOW…You said it better than any of us bro.
What? Are you fools insane? How is having your precious little girl, the whom you’ve brought into this world, the one whom is your responsibility to give them all their dreams, better than entering into a beauty pageant. Looking cute and beautiful is much better than being beaten to a pulp. Insane, anyone to suggest such a stupid thing is absolutely insane!
1. this could be Africa where those animals would r*** them to “cure aids”
2. They could be pimped out to american pedophiles/ tourists
3. They are wearing big gloves, not 4 oz mma ones, and they’re are kids hitting other kids. So even with good technique, it’s still softer.
Personally i would advocate the use of headgear for them just for more protection, but maybe the fans dont want to see that.
AND if you’re just sitting behind you’re computer and not doing anything to help these people out, you have no right to judge them and how they survive.
It’s the third world country what do you expect? Look at Manny Pacquiao he had to quit school in order to work and feed his family. He traveled far away to a port city to find work and send money back home. He turned pro and his first fight in the Philippines he only won enough money to buy a bowl of rice. It’s goddamn hard in other countries, this is sad to see yes, but this is the predicament of how it is over there. These kids probably won’t get opportunities like Christopher Gardner and his son did to lift themselves up out of poverty and become wealthy because the way their society is over there it just is nearly impossible to become like that over there.
Our fight should be against exploitation of the weaker anywhere. Child labor, sexual abuse, substance use or bodily harm is not right for children anywhere.
Where can I get tickets to one of these shows? Looks entertaining and I would love to help support them and their families.
Wow -I wanted to jump on the Scorpius bashing train but can’t top what everyone else wrote.
selling flowers is definitely worse than getting punched in the face
Lots of emotionally charged comments here, and thats to be expected I suppose. But the reality is, with 30,000 child fighters in Thailand, I think we should expect some very interesting prospects coming up over the next several years, especially with the increased popularity of combat sports. Sure, many of these children will die just as poor and destitute as they were born, but I am certain that there will be more than a few that will ultimately escape and be able to inspire millions with their story and talent.
why dont the USA send troops to free these kids from those dictators ?
i can see training at a young age if they are interested but this is not a good thing.to force a kid to get busted up and have so many worries at a young age sucks, kids should be able to enjoy life before it gets hard.the crappy parents should try harder to make money and the government should crack down on this bs.i think what it builds in toughness does not outweigh what these kids have to go through mentally for the rest of their lives.
@IIIIIII Your right that this should be considered abuse. But your wrong that this documentary shouldn’t be distributed, because what a documentary like this does is bring things like this to the attention of the mainstream and show people the reality of life for impoverished kids in Thailand which can only be a good thing.
Just because there is worse stuff out there, doesn’t make it right or acceptable. Exploitation is exploitation.
Bruno: Fixed. Sorry, That stuff is hard to keep up with.
thai boxing/muay thai is like the national sport there….samething here…out in the mid west with people putting their young ones in wrestling at an early age…5..6…7 year olds…same “abuse”….different motives…there…its for money…here its so the damn kid can get into a university with his wrestling….same ISH….some of u people blow this way out of proportion.
You’re talking about a nation that will sentence more jail time for tax evasion criminals then it will hand down to pedphiles and you guys want the American military to help these kids? LMAO…good ole public education system and tv mind rot for ya!
Need more Genocide, too many people… we will start with volunteers, anyone? anyone?
I guess it beats starvation by geez.
