I like a few smacks in the face to wake me up in the mornings and some blows to the jaw to put me to sleep. Not too much. Log in to Reply FLYINGKNEEss September 2, 2011 Hey Bruno, Bruno: To answer your question. No, sorry. Log in to Reply RearNakedSmoke September 2, 2011 Oh, please. GSP would rag doll this clown to the ground and bongo out a 25 minute rendition of MacArthur Park on his back. Log in to Reply Tendojitsu September 2, 2011 Vera seems like a total fag. Log in to Reply Uncle_whoop_ya _ass September 3, 2011 such a fag.t … branden no close to a title vera … this piece loves getting KO’ed .. drinking haterade .. back to small time fights for this chump Log in to Reply evilevile September 3, 2011 brendan vera, didnt like getting hit by john jones, nd ya the fact that he got played like a bongo, by tiago silva, says it all Log in to Reply Jasonfn22 September 3, 2011 Nobody likes to get hit and the guys who can win without getting hit would have to be smarter more clevor fighters but poor GSP can win for losing.he could come up with a cure for cancer and he would have people criticizing the shit out of that.Brandon Verra needs to go ask Freddie Roach if he likes getting hit or is it a good idea to get hit because somebody said that you did not like getting hit so you want to prove them wrong like a god damn dumb **** would do. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 3, 2011 Thats coming from a guy who hates to get hit so much that he lets a big juiced up brazilain play bongo on his back since he turtles up.your a bitch Vera and lost 3 or 4 in a row and shouldnt be in the UFC anymore.I dont think roids made Thiago out wrestle him.Wrestling is 100% positioning,a good base and technic,it had nothing to do with strenght. And if the kind of roids Thiago was taking made him have a better wrestler then im going to start roids immediatly.Im sure Vera knows he wouldve lost roids or no roids Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 3, 2011 cocky douche.I wish they wouldve gave him Chuck the scond he called him out.Would’ve been fun to see him get destroyed by the pre Rampage Iceman. and im i the only one who remembers the UFC countdown in his LHW debut(he was hrrible) against Reese Andy and they were saying Vera had world class greco roman wrestling…I never saw any world class greco from Vera in any of his fights….. Log in to Reply ness2k September 3, 2011 So, the ufc is not on spike or VS anymore? Just on fox’s? Log in to Reply Dmoney September 3, 2011 vera is a dumb ass. i guess he likes getting hit , thats y he lost 4 straight. what a retard Log in to Reply willienugget September 3, 2011 You’d think the dude would get some respect now that he’s jumped right to the top of the list. Real fighters give him credit, but we get these ‘rag doll’ comments from keyboard vets still. Diaz is going to kick GSP’s ass whereever it goes. If he’s dumb enough to stand with Nick, he’s going to the hospital. Log in to Reply Yoplait September 3, 2011 I never liked Vera and how he is still in the UFC is a mystery to me. I honestly can’t wait to see him get his face smashed in again. What top competition can he beat? He needs to realize he is at the bottom of the barrel and STFU. Log in to Reply oldassgrappler September 3, 2011 This guy talks so much shit. Of course nobody likes to get hit. Unless your a bong…. Log in to Reply jassmo September 3, 2011 i like GSP but i like diaz even more cause he is a freak, and wouldn´t it be good if he mixed shit up a little bit, just for fun Log in to Reply CraigEvilEbel September 3, 2011 I hope GSP drops a stunner on Diaz and yes hits from the bong……. And if you cant get with Degeneration then I got two words for ya “SUCK IT” ahahah to high missing WWF Log in to Reply mesonto September 3, 2011 I didn’t know that Brandon Vera sounded so much like a street thug. The way in which he talks makes him seem uneducated. BUt I don’t think that the comment about GSP was meant to do harm. Log in to Reply ufail September 3, 2011 KungFuLowKick wrestling is not 100% postioning.. it has a lot to do with strength..bjj is waaay more about positioning..and even bjj isnt 100%. If u r a roided up freak who already has technique it will give u a grappling advantage. Why do u think it is illegal? Thiago might still have better technique than Vera, but what u said is dumb…and im no Vera fan. Log in to Reply Dharmaboy September 3, 2011 @CraigEvilEbel LOL good old DX. WWE is not the same anymore, the 1998-2001 was the best times. After the Rock left and Stone Cold quit, it just wasnt the same. Log in to Reply ibunn September 3, 2011 …fighting out of the blue corner Brandon “The irrelevant” Vera!!! Log in to Reply hond2dciv September 3, 2011 What a d bag. “You can’t just beat Nick Diaz up on the ground” ?? Sort of like you can’t beat up Josh Koscheck or Jon Fitch on the ground? Or Matt Serra? Or Matt Hughes? Yes, you can. GSP is WAY stronger that Diaz. He will take him down and beat him up on the ground. No way GSP gets subbed by Diaz. GSP by UD, 48-47. Log in to Reply casyboy September 3, 2011 obviously brandon hasn’t got hit enough, needs some sense knocked into him, no humility! gsp will smash nicks guard like mashed potatoes. i pray gsp will not lay! Log in to Reply willienugget September 3, 2011 Jake managed 48-47 and he made the fight way to comfortable for GSP. Nick will push it. I’m not inside Vera’s head, but I think what he was going for is that Nick is in a different class than Kos,Fitch,Serra. Now if the GSP that fought Hughes shows up, that’s something else entirely but that GSP doesn’t exist anymore. Log in to Reply sacramentofan September 3, 2011 Man, I hate quoting Cheeto but it’s so appropriate: “You show me a guy that likes to get hit and I’ll show you a dumb guy.” Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 3, 2011 @ufail we put a roided weightlifter of 250 pounds against a a 170 pounds wrestler and the wrestler will definetly win all the time.So why does the smaller weaker guy wins?Because of a good base, technic and positioning.Ben Askren told it himself he wasnt the strongest guy in his wrestling team and that he’s far from being the strongest at his weightclass in Bellator but he’s still one of the best wrestler. And never when my coach taught me wrestling technics that you need strenght to execute the technic. It will help you complete a takedown you dont get it perfectly and with sterenght you’ll compensate and manage to finish the takedown but all the coaches will tell you that if you cant exeute a technic because you’re not strrong enough just means that you dont have the right technic. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 3, 2011 @willienugget Yeah the GSP who fought Hughes doesnt exist anymore,he’s just 5 years better…. Log in to Reply abc September 3, 2011 why did i even bother.. Log in to Reply shiznit September 3, 2011 Ok, First thing…. No one who watched GSP v Shields really thinks Jake got two rounds.. Second is that was a one eyed GSP fighting Jake the Scarecrow Shields (Bruno posted the blatant eye poke for all to see on this site. It looked like Shields was trying to mark a spot on GSPs pupil for gods sake) I like both fighters, but forget the hype.. This is going to be a straight up GnP smashing. (I hope not, but it will be..) BJ didn’t sub GSP, he has better standup, jits and takedown defense. The only thing Diaz offers that GSP hasn’t seen is an iron will, crazy cardio and iron chin. He is skillful everywhere, but GSP is not going to stand.. He will take him down beat him up and then stand for a little and beat him on his feet (because Diaz will be worried about the takedown) Diaz will get frustrated and start to through and then GSP will immediately take him down.. Tell me I am wrong. See the Thiago Alves fight strategy. GSP is as at least as technical standing as Diaz, but will take the low risk route… Check Diaz’s history, he doesn’t like wrestlers. Again, hope I am wrong, but I don’t think so Despite all that, this should still be much more entertaining that GSP v. Kos, Fitch, BJ, Hardy et al Log in to Reply SinkTheHooks September 3, 2011 Diaz is unique in the cage but he has never fought GSP, that is all GSP does is train and he is the 2nd best fight in the world maybe the best WW div is tougher than the MW imo. And it looks like they fixed your nose up nice Vera, Thiago beat that fat kids ass Log in to Reply casemax September 4, 2011 I don’t care for GSP or diaz but I hope Gsp will finish dicklipped diaz Log in to Reply willienugget September 4, 2011 I’m all for intelligent conversation but with some of you it’s just not worth trying. Will he win? I don’t know. But GSP is nowhere near the striker Diaz is; not even close. I really don’t think Nick is going to wipe him up all over the cage, but if GSP stands for too long, he’s in big big trouble. Two of the only three people that matter gave Jake two rounds so I wouldn’t say nobody. You can say this or that, but losing rounds is something GSP just hasn’t done and he did it against Jake. Log in to Reply willienugget September 4, 2011 and the whole thing with GSP not liking to get hit. You people can’t really be serious with these comments. Of course nobody enjoys getting hit. Maybe don’t take that completely literally. You know what it means. You punch Georges in the face and he becomes a wrestler immediately. Some fighters eat it and punch back. Log in to Reply willienugget September 4, 2011 Maybe after Nick takes his title, we might see that old fire in GSP. As is, he’s one of the more gifted athletes on the planet and still I’m not excited to see him fight. This is about Nick Diaz and what he’s earned by not playing the game. I like it. Log in to Reply shiznit September 4, 2011 Yes yes willienugget you’re correct, Diaz standup so far superior to GSP. Are you kidding…. He can box but he mostly wings punches. We have seen it before, even if the guy is believed to be better standing it is hard to engage when your worried about being on your back. Diaz will be humbled… When will people learn, GSP is not Matt Hughes, he can win the fight anywhere. Is Diaz better standing than BJ or Alves? Not where I am… Plant Earth. Wake up If I knew nothing I would think Diaz is Anderson Silva by ready this board.. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 4, 2011 GSP has better shoot boxing then Diaz so that makes GSP a better MMA striker.Pure striking and BJJ match Nick probably wins. But this is MMA and GSP’s strongest area is his stand-up.Because he’s stand-up is good but not great. But the fact that he combinees striking and takedown technics so fluidly makes him the best stand-up guy in MMA imo.Silva has way greater pure striking but we never see him weave and instantly double leg the guy at the perfect timing. Log in to Reply AussieMMA September 4, 2011 This is a bit rich coming from a guy that took one elbow from Jones and curled up into the fetal position. Vera was all hype and no follow through. Log in to Reply cutu2bad September 5, 2011 I love the videos of Brandon in Hospital trying to make jokes about the fact that some guy just smashed his face to bits classic cant wait for the next one Log in to Reply Corey September 5, 2011 It’s technique. ****. And GSP isn’t even in the same league of striking as Diaz. GSP showcased a… jab. Against Koscheck. Who has terrible defense and kinda shitty reflexes. He doesn’t throw combos, he doesnt throw leg kicks, he throws jabs. And who the hell said that BJ has better striking than Diaz? Where the hell did you come up with that? You people really need to go back and watch some tape. If GSP pushes forward aggressively and uses his strength advantage to secure take downs, and plays it very safe with taking Diaz down and holding him down, he can take the decision. Thats how Diaz loses; to strong dominant wrestlers with no real offense. Thats pretty much the only way Diaz loses. If GSP tries to win by ANY other means, he’s gonna get Ko’d, or TKO’s. There really isn’t an argument here. The difference is, strength isn’t required for submissions, and Diaz has some sick BJJ. So even if GSP does take him down… don’t forget that wicked armbar he pulled on Cyborg. And Sakurai. Log in to Reply kevo September 5, 2011 diaz beat paul daley so now hes gonna beat gsp? lmao btw vera sucks thiago wouldve won without his back roids. Log in to Reply kevo September 5, 2011 diaz just knew shields was gonna be champ. Log in to Reply arod September 6, 2011 um i think that the competition in strikeforce and the UFC are completely different nick is dominating guys that the UFC has not picked up for some reason and the they let go cause they could not hang so to say that nick is better is yet to see, but if anyone can tell me what top ten fighters that nick has beat in the last 3 years Paul Daley, Evangelista Santos, K.J. Noons, Hayato Sakurai, Marius Žaromskis, Scott Smith, Frank Shamrock, Thomas Denny, Muhsin Corbbrey, Katsuya Inoue. how many of these guys are top ten, big difference from the guys GSP has fought Log in to Reply JoeDog September 6, 2011 No one likes to get hit! Tell me, Vera likes getting hit, especially by elows to the face. What a puke. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 6, 2011 @arod Well said. But some people here are so dumb they said GSP was better 5-6 years ago when he was fighting in TKO against guys like Spratt and Menjivar(no direspect he’s a great fighter but still a FW)because in that time he finished guys. Some people here dont always think alot about things like that. They see fast and easy KO or subs from a guy and the other guy dominates tough highly ranked guys for 5 rounds so they make the assumption that the guy who beat C or B level fighters by KO or Sub that he’s better then the other guy who faces real competition his level.Make GSP fight the guys Nick fought and you would see 1st round TKOs and subs too. How come HW contenders in boxing knock everybody out but when they fight the Klitschkos they get outboxed and knocked out? Because there is a different level in competiton bewtween GSP’s opponents and Nick’s opponents.GSP is a black belt in BJJ, he wont get subbed like Nick’s last oppoenents and Cyborg’s grappling cant even be compared with GSP’s.None of the guy’s Nick fought in his whole carreer has the grappling skills or shootboxing skills(most important part of MMA striking)that GSP has.And GSP has a weight advantage.Diaz is the best most well rounded fighter GSP ever faced but Diaz will still lose against the 2nd greatest p4p fighter of all time right after Silva.
