On Saturday June the 23rd Aging boxer Ray Mercer hopes to finally make a good showing in an MMA event when he takes on street fighter Kimbo Slice.

Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) is the event holder and it should be their largest fight card draw to date. The Atlantic City fight will be a true MMA fight with rules comparable the the UFC’s. This is not just a stand up boxing match but don’t expect to see either man try an early take down.
Mercer is holding up well to be 46. He has a much faster hand speed than Slice and should be able to make quick work of him if they stay standing. Although Slice can take a good punch he never has had the stamina to maintain a quick pace and will tire way before the rounds end.
Kimbo Slice who’s real name is Kevin Ferguson is one of the most famous bare-knuckle fighters in the U.S. because of video sites like YouTube and others that allow people to post Slice’s fight videos.
Even though Mercer is almost 15 years older than Slice he should make this a quick fight. After Slice discovers what it is like to fight a true professional fighter he will disappear back into the underground fight seen.
