Lets see…he never responded back to his foster father when he was on his deathbed or went to his funeral. He never saw his brother in 7 years and didn’t respond back when his brother tried to contact him a year earlier. Him and Ken have had a turbulent relationship and he hasn’t talked to Ken in years.
Methinks that the only reason he went to go see his real brother and why he went to meet with Ken is because the cameras were rolling. I’m guessing it was the producer’s idea to do both to add emotional content to the show. I’d be willing to bet that if it weren’t for the cameras making a show about him he wouldn’t have done either. I don’t like Ken but he had a point regarding Frank being a coward in the regard of how Frank skipped out on his foster father’s funeral, then Frank sheds tears about that topic. Real or contrived?

Franks personal Life and Relationships are nobody’s business. What are you his Mother, B*t*c*?

Anyone who calls one of the best MMA fighters in his prime a coward is just being an idiot.

Franks record speaks for itself.

I always found both Shamrocks to be arrogant a$$holes, (though I respect their early accomplishments), this only strengthens my dislike of them, Frank is a two-face no question about it……..and phony as f*ck

NotVinnieJones Says, in 10-14-2013 at 15:46:54 from

@ mmafan11 Franks personal life and relationships are nobodys business until he openly uncovers it all and talks candidly about it on a show on Spike TV. So go to California, find Ken Shamrock, and call him an idiot because he’s the one who called Frank a coward. Or did you not know that because you didn’t watch the show because you didn’t want to look into Franks life out of “respect” for his personal life and relationships? Make sure and post a vid of when Ken smashes you into the ground like a railroad spike so we can see it here on MMATKO and have a good laugh!

For a couple of dollars and a chance to be on the spot light this guy would bend down and take it up the ass…

I don’t judge either one, they were fighting when you couldn’t live off it and you had to travel world wide. I only commented to let everyone who has such direct opinions know it is only an opinion, you never walked in their shoes or probably a gym. Get paid however money is made you dummies, worrying about their relations LOL

Good point. I could not have said it better myself.

mmafan11 Says, in 10-14-2013 at 22:29:10 from

@notvinniejones…Ken is Old and his body is shot after a life time of combat sports.

No doubt in his prime he would probably smash me but today he would have a hard time smashing my Grand Pa.

Of course you would never be able to smash much at all since your another internet only tough guy :)

Ken was one of the original warriors and still is but he is an idiot and I would have no problem or fear saying it to his face as a Heavyweight 6.5 285lb Blackbelt BJJ & Judoka.

gripman Says, in 10-14-2013 at 23:18:12 from

Being Ken’s little brother would be a nightmare. Nobody like’s the guy. Throw in issues with your childhood, abuse, violence, prison, and then getting treated second best by your “dad”, and I can understand Frank’s emotional issues. I understand Frank profits off of this tv documentary and that it was edited and narrated, but it didn’t come across like a made up soap opera either. Am I the only one that thinks Frank tried to make legitimate amends? It’s not like he went to Ken and took the angle of defending his position. He apologized and is attempting to make the best out of a horrible decision in his past. I left this show liking Frank for the first time ever.

Yeah sure superman we forgot you are a gracie black belt badass who lets people hold kneebars on him and doesn’t tap. A real man of steel 7 foot tall and 280 pounds of muscles. You want a belt you douche?? Maybe you haven’t heard this word “keyboard warrior” but you my friend are the worst ever. You post for a couple of months now and keep saying dumb s***. My guees is you started training MMA for a couple of months and now you think your a badass. And you pulled the the keybaord warrior cliché of the 280 pounds giant of muscles… All you lying clowns are the same. Over eaggerating your size to look tougher on the internet. Please get a life loser.

KungFuLowKick Says, in 10-15-2013 at 02:14:22 from

And also the other classic keyboard warrior cliché is calling somebody else an internet tough guy when the only thing @NotVinnieJones did was calling you on your bullshit and you got mad and pissy. Most of us here have been on this website for years and on other forums years before and saw many clowns like you spewing the exact same lies.
The 7ft giant with a black belt in judo and BJJ.(You are not the 1st to claim that,if we believed you all the keyboard warriors would be giant black belts…) That’s your insecurites. All you guys are the same. If you really were a big giant black belt like you claim, you would have respect for fighters, you wouldn’t say s*** like I could beat Ken’s ass…

You want to look big and tough on the internet but YOU DON’T FOOL ANYBODY JUST STOP!!!

mmafan11 is a 6’5 285 pounder in virtual mode. In personal, he is a 5’3 125 lb. p****.

Belts are not significant if your attitude and character is s***. Growth in Martial Arts is not based solely on skills.

On to the topic, I respect Frank Shamrock that he opened up his life on TV and he showed that every MA practitioner has their own life battles to face. He has the balls to admit his shortcomings and make amends with his past.

Good documentary. Nice to see those guys make up a little. In the way they acted it seemed frank was the one with more to be sorry about in the way he acted. Both were not perfect. I can see why frank was sad about his dad telling him he would only talk to him if he made up with ken, that had to hurt. I don’t think that is a reason to not see the guy on his death bed though.
