Friday night Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Bobby Southworth dropped a non-title fight to 30-year-old Anthony Ruiz. After a solid first round in which Southworth put Ruiz down and took his back, the fighter out of American Kickboxing Academy took a beautiful four -punch combination that knocked him on his back.
Splinting them up was Referee Marcos Rosales to have a cut above 37-year-old Southworth’s left eye checked. After a quick look from the doctor the fight was called to a end in round two. Ruiz now owns a record of 18-10.
