Lots of people give Bob a hard time, but I’ve watched a recent interview of his and he’s not so dumb. He simply has no aspiration to win any of his fights and when the opportunity presents itself, take a dive. The promoters know this and ironically it’s part of the appeal. Once upon a time, people watched him wonder when he would be beat. Now we watch knowing he will be beat. Despite the fact he’s made a mockery of himself and to some degree the legitimacy of mixed martial arts he’s remained relevant. He is flown all over the world, jeered, cheered and paid handsomely to lose. It’s really not that different from the WWE. So hate him or hate him, I’d hazard a guess he is happy with his lot in life – after all it’s an ‘honest’ living.

Unfortunatly he probably got paid alot for that.He had 7 fights in 2011 and he said he got 2 millions that year.That’s really sad.He’s getting paid more then the majority of top fighters to take dives.And he probably gets paid more then any 125,135,or 145 fighters in the world.I guess Japan really loves dumb gorillas with no skills taking dives.Pretty pathetic.

Bob Tapp is the smartest fighter around. He takes minimum damage and makes a good living. Not sure why people keep going to his fights. Perhaps hes the william hung of the mma world. People enjoy the freak show.
