BJ Penn – The Road To UFC 137.
Awesome. Hope he gets the win. Won’t be easy though.
The top fighters are primarily in the NFL and NBA as well as boxing, Dana White has the UFC setup as a monopoly which I’m not knocking him I would do the same’ it’s just not beneficial for fans because at the end of the day he has a bunch of joe schmoes who are excellent athletes don’t get me wrong; they’re just no physical specimens that’s all OF course that’s with the exception of Silva, Jones, and thae up and comer Rory MacDonald.
Great stuff Bruno. Thanks.
this is probably the best edited mma video i have ever seen.
@ nigerianboxer
Huh “the best fighters are in the nfl, nba???? wtf
joe schmo’s where do we go to see “elite fighters???
and boxing? name me ANY boxer who could last 1 round whith ANY UFC champ with MMA rules (hell I will turn it around name me any ufc champ that could hang with any boxing champ with BOXING rules)
I cant wait for BJ to get his ass kicked by Diaz….yeh i said it
unfortunately, i have to agree…
the best fighters are probably in other sports, if mma was actually their focus…
though, i feel the very best athletes and fighters probably don’t compete in any sport and just lay low…
like superman, living contently as clark kent…
bj penn is pretty cool…
it all depends if he’s in attack mode, and finish before he gets tired…
even tired, he’ll can still beat diaz, as long as it doesn’t become a wrestling match (which diaz may do to surprise bj)
@NigerianBoxing
You moron. The history is clear. Virtually every “top athlete” that came out of the NFL, NBA, or MLB to become a boxer or MMA fighter got their asses kicked.
I take that back… Jose Canseco… oh wait… he got KTFO by a poor fighter. Yep, I am right.
Let’s go NICK!!! But any ways this should be a great fight! Two real fighter’s in the cage. You know it’s not gonna be boring at all.
heres another well edited mma video. shot at my gym, follows yoko on his first pro mma fight http://vimeo.com/16909779
I assume Nigerianboxer means the best athletes are in the NFL and NBA and he’s right. Not the best fighters.
mangosundae, i second that
the quality of this video is excellent. Its up there with the Reem series.
ISLAND PRIDE
I feel so bad for Nick Diaz and all the other SF “champs”, soon enough they’re gonna see that SF was and always will be (till the day it gets dismantled) a B-level org. with B level fighters. Alistair is gonna get it, Hendo is gonna get it, Melendez is gonna get it.. Shields already got it.. Nothing but a great payday and a good ass-whoopin’. Whoever comes from SF to UFC is gonna get it, and then you all non-believers will realize that SF was all hype, and i.e. a Nick Diaz is below a Diego Sanchez’ level.. F* SF, BJ all the way
Hope BJ gets his crybaby ass rocked. I can’t stand either..Diaz suck it, that being said, WAR DIAZ.
Cool video
Awesome video. Both fighters are amazing but he edge goes to Nick Diaz on the cardio.. BJ doesnt look like the same Fighter and body type these days.
Bruno, as always thanks for posting the best videos and staying two steps ahead of everybody else.
Guys NigerianBoxer has to be a troll or an extremly uneducated guy in MMA.He put the exact same post on another video.Everyone knows MMA athletes are the best conditioned athletes for MMA and they have the technic of MMA.Nothing in playing football or basketball will make you fight well.Boxing will help your striking base alot but boxing is a 100 times easier cadio wise then grappling.3 minutes of grappling is as hard as 3 rounds of boxing.There’s some guys that are such good athletes that whatever they do they will become good.But saying NBA and NFL have the best fighters is the most dumb comment ever.
@elbarrio
Then how can you explain that Shields gave the most challenge(eye poke or not he still hit him before the eye poke)to GSP and he’s a B level fighter?Does that mean every guy who GSP fought before was less then B level fighters?I agree that the UFC champs had better challenges then the SF champions but that doesnt mean the SF ex-champs suck.
@tonysnow @n00ka STFU f***!!
@nigerianboxer initially I was a little reluctant to agree with Dana before but I thought about and he is 100% right and here’s why. They are OVERALL the best athletes let’s take track and field for instance. Long distance runners vs. short distance runners. Long distance has cardio for days but very little muscle mass. Short distance runners are muscular and explosive and I assume they must have decent cardio but not GREAT cardio and even though they are ‘explosive’ they might not have pure raw strength (there is a difference). MMA athletes have it all even if not the best of all worlds still very good. NFL guys come close and some have transitioned well but it’s a team sport and they get to rest a lot. Still doesn’t add up. So MMA guys aren’t just some of the most technical but overall athletic people as well. The ones that take it serious anyway.
challenge, homie? did he even win a round against gsp? took him down? ellenberger just ko’d shields man.. it doesen’t even matter dude, you’ll see pretty soon, if this dumb cholo beats bj I’ll be the first to say I was wrong
and I didn’t say they suck, I said that they are overhyped – just for having some belt doesn’t mean that they’re even close to the best in the world. and everybody is saying just that. but time will show if king mo, cavalcante, melendez diaz etc. will beat anybody of ufc’s top 5 in respective divisions
@el barrio 213 “if this dumb cholo beats BJ ill be the first to say im wrong” LMFAO classic s*** haha
bj got this if he puts the friendship thing aside and just goes for the kill, animal style all day.
Hecjr82 I agree bro.. Bj needs to come into that fight thinking diaz is his worst enemy and devastate him with a KO!!
As soon as I found this internet site I went on reddit to share some of the love with them.
