I think BJ might be fired up, but I also think it’s going to be too little too late. Maybe if he had this much fire to start his training he’d have a better chance, but damn there’s a huge size difference to top it all off. BJ hit his plateau long ago. Rory is one of the next generation fighters who is rising to the top fast. Time and time again we see these types of matches with the result being that the older fighter’s gameplans and tactics being too obsolete to compete with the present day style of the younger, fresher fighter. The odds are stacked against BJ this time around. As far as Rory talking crap…you have to remember that BJ specifically picked Rory to be his next opponent. If you call a certain fighter out, don’t necessarily expect that person to be completely cordial toward you.

If Penn weighs in between 167-169 we may see a fight.
But people seem to ignore the fact that come fight time he is going to be giving up 25 lbs of muscle weight to a very good young fighter.
I think BJ is great, but Penn nuthuggers are dreaming if they think he has more than a fluke chance in this fight.
The better odds would be can Rory stop him.

I’m finding it humorous how there are so many B.J Penn fans ready to jump all over Rory for a few overblown statements. B.J. has been instigating trash talk for as long as he’s been in the game. Dr. is probably right that there may be a TriStar vendetta to settle. We can expect a war. B.J. has always been a natural, but cardio can definitely be an issue.
