Best Way To Avoid A Single Leg Takdown Video

This may be the best new defensive move to get top position when someone tries to get a single leg takedown on you.

I’m not sure who this kid is but he had the balls to try this in a match. The kids got skills.

That took a lot of balls, indeed.

There is a move like this that I’ve seen locally in my amateur wrestling days that we use for a scrambling escape of a single-leg takedown, but it’s much more controlled. We called it a kickflip, but we might have to change it because of this video. THAT is more of a kickflip.

We started the kickflip by taking a head and arms front face lock — or an arm-in guillotine, depending on how you look at it — and moving the trapped leg to the inside of the thigh. With one explosive motion, the backwards flip was executed and the flipper — for lack of a better term — would end up in mount with an arm-in guillotine. Grapevines and using the second trapping arm were usually standard transitions for the pin.

The only thing I can think of that’s scarier than watching the above video is imagining a 275 pound heavyweight that is as wide as he is tall executing the move on another heavyweight. Gave me nightmares, lol.

Looks fine and dandy and hell it might even work again, but my style of fighting, MMA, I wrestled through high school, and hell that would work, but very dangerous and also the kid who took the leg was not very expierenced cuz if you give me a leg you are going down. I guess if it is there try it. Congrats to the winner lol but in MMA that aint going to fly
