I know most of you on this site are MMA fans.But please recognize thzt Hopkins,though he is stupid,is a fantastic fighter.At his age, he is still in good shape and technically the guy is great.
I hope you see the difference with MMA where stand up is very sloppy with hands down.

What a snoozer! I saw it on HBO and even the commentators were saying this fight was horrible. Hopkins looks great for a guy in his late 40′s though. Anybody who complains about an MMA fight being boring should have this video on hand to compare the two. You will be happy with MMA every time.

Boring fight indeed. But the MMA/Boxing comparisons are so childish. Come on. Both sports are great and I will always enjoy a great boxing match no matter how MMA continues to grow. Just enjoy both sports for what they are and leave the comparisons at the door.

None of you will be fit for a 12 rounder as a 47 yr old, let’s give respect where it is due. For a casual fan this was boring because you wouldn’t recognize the game within the game sorta speak. BHop is reach the half-century mark and still competing with young bloods. Respect to him and boxing for a good show nonetheless.

Yeah, because the recent Danzig/Escudero fight was so thrilling right? I’m an MMA fan first and foremost but you guys sound like idiots. Yes, this wasn’t a very good fight but at least acknowledge the fact that B-Hop has a very strange style which generally isn’t very aesthetically pleasing. These are possibly the two best light heavy’s in the world going at it. Stop with the “no one wants to see this old useless boxer” dude he just clowned Pascal, who beat Dawson. He also had an easier time with Pavlik than Sergio Martinez! This is nothing like Randy Couture fighting Lyoto. Yeah it was a bit boring, so was Rashad/Rampage.

Everyone saying boxing is always boring probably has never seen or even heard of fighters like Diego Corrales, Arturo Gatti, Michael Katsidis, etc. Don’t use one fight to generalize an entire sport, cuz it could be done the same way against mma.

Katsidis/Casamayor, Pavlik/Taylor 1, JMM/Diaz 1, Cloud/Johnson, Martinez/Williams 1, Ortiz/Berto, Kirkland/Angulo just to name a few off the top of my head in recent history that were f****** legendary fights and they were all headliners. MMA produces a greater frequency of exciting fights, but they have a higher frequency of boring ones too cuz they put on more shows with more fights. Also, when one fight sucks on a card, it is easy for the other fights to compensate for it.

Even on this card, there appeared to be 2 great undercard fights, but I doubt any of you noticed. You just wanted something to complain about. Its possible to appreciate both sports instead of making it MMA vs Boxing.

Would anyone in their right mind rather watch Nik Lentz/Andre Winner instead of Ward/Gatti?
