Nice video, good find.

Just one long round? Interesting. I love jiujitsu, in that world class fighters are praised for being a brown (or even purple) belt. Other martial arts, nobody cares unless you are a black belt.

Dont want to engage just back out of the ring. Boring.

that was more like a very shitty wrestling match for the first half of the video.

benson had some nice reversals on the rolls

benson is the man!

ZW Says, in 3-12-2013 at 13:17:12 from

It got better as the match wore on. Bendo and the guy he faced were going back and forth stuffing each others takedowns, at one point Bendo stuffs three td’s in a row. He controlled the top and was too strong and in great shape.

Respect it but not a big fan of the gi fighting, it stifles the action more than anything.

that’s why bjj will never be popular on a mainstream level.. to many boring matches like this with little to no action…

Amosaback Says, in 3-12-2013 at 14:31:25 from

I loved how Bendo adjusted mid-air and mid-sweep to maintain position. What an athlete! That dude is cat-like if any fighter is.

That was a great match, but I was wishing that the grappling area was bigger (or that they other dude would make some effort to stay in-bounds) so the match would be more fluid.

TheKungFuLowKick Says, in 3-12-2013 at 14:42:50 from

Yeah but getting a purple or brown belt in BJJ takes alot more skill and probably as much time as black belts in other martial arts.Especially in North America. There’s probably 100 000 karate black belts under 12 years old…

Maynard Says, in 3-12-2013 at 14:48:21 from

bjj rules are f***** top to bottom.

DeLaSeoul87 Says, in 3-12-2013 at 14:56:15 from

Benson is the superior wrestler, the other guy was a great JJ player, but his wrestling was weak (so maybe calling him a great JJ player is a bit of a misstatement). Wish he would have engaged more.

Young Says, in 3-12-2013 at 15:11:22 from

Why did benson win? He didn’t get any takedowns and he got reversed twice?

DonDonDon Says, in 3-12-2013 at 15:23:24 from

i thought the other guy was more creative with his jiu jiu, speed and strength really made the difference here. I would give that guy more edge in knowledge of submissions.

Trousersnake Says, in 3-12-2013 at 17:00:49 from

Too boring. Couldn’t watch it to the end

Bendo is not really a Brown Belt he just is not ‘Officially’ been awarded his Black Belt.

Bendo has beat very good BJJ Black Belts in the Cage including Nate Diaz and not just by out wrestling but avoiding being submitted and out rolling Nate Diaz in a fight using BJJ.

Prolly da coolest man in the UFC. Except for this part, “Joe, first thing I gotta say is ‘All things are possible through Jesus Christ’. Now what was your question?” But nobody’s perfect. He’s good inside though.
