Anthony Pettis now ready and will jump in for T.J. Grant to take on Benson Henderson in the new UFC 164 main event on Aug. 31, 2013.
Another injury has hit the Ultimate Fighting Championship main event as T.J. Grant has been forced out of his UFC 164 lightweight championship bout against Benson Henderson due to a concussion suffered in training. It came from Grant being knocked out while practicing jiu-jitsu.
After many people speculated that Grant had be paid off to let Pettis step in to a rematch, he took to twitter to stop the rumors.
From Grants Twitter:
“Sorry all you conspiracy theorists. @danawhite / @ufc did not and could not pay me any amount of money to step aside. I am healing from a concussion I suffered in BJJ of all things. I hope to be back training very soon.”
