I respect Askren as a fighter becuase he dominates his opponents without eating punches.But he also gives wrestlers a bad name.Seriously that ground and pound looked weaker then chick fights.I know Ben could hit harder then that(everybody can even old grannies can generate more power)but for some reason he looks like he prefers to dominate guys completly with straight grappling.But this is MMA.With that kind of grapplnig skills and control on the ground,he could finish ANYBODY with GnP.For some reason he looks like he doesn’t like to hurt people so he pats them on the head just to make them think he is punching them but he will never finish anybody like that.Punch Ben punch,don’t give them face massage.

pinkelephantsmarching, wow.. I can’t believe you actually tried to compare GSP to Asscream. Are you f****** serious? GSP actually finishes guys, he actually goes damage, destroys and mangles people. When he puts a GnP on someone, they look like they’ve been dragged for 10 miles by the ankles, not like he shot someone in the face with a nerf gun 50 times. Do not make comparisons. Ben snorlax’d Jay Hieron, who GSP demolished. The two aren’t even in the same league. And yes I think GSP would out-MMA-wrestle Ben Snorlax Asscream any day of the week, but he wouldn’t need to because instead of having just one tool, he has an entire tool shed.

lol you guys are tools. Ben “Snorlax” Askren is pretty one-dimensional, and once he faces a legitimate ground guy, or someone just as good a wrestler as him, he’s finished. Bellator, fortunately for snorlax, doesn’t have a very deep talent pool in terms of extremely good ground guys or strong wrestlers. It’d probably be one of the most boring fights in history, but I’d love to see him get Fitch’d for the pure irony of it. I mean cmon, he spent 25 minutes “ground and pounding” Lima, but at the end of it Lima looked just fine. I’ve seen a soccer ball to the face do more damage than Snorlax. And RickJames that wasn’t MMA, that was male on male softcore.

Agreed. I can’t wait for the highlight with this clown getting knocked out. There’s nothing wrong with wrestling and ground work in MMA, but this lacks any type of finishing offense for 25 mins. Sure he wins, but who the heck wants to watch that other than the .1% of fans that Askren has. Hopefully he’ll lose soon and we can move on. Cut the hair weirdo.

The next Askren fight I’ll ever watch is the when he gets ko’d. Can’t watch the lay n pray. Wrestling is paramount in mma but it can’t be your whole bag of tricks.Learn a sub or something.
