What a dumb ****ing question. “So in the ring, it’s anything goes?” No you numbnut it’s not. Do a 5 seconds research on google: Rules of MMA, then your done, no retarded questions to ask after that… And mistaking Jon Jones wrestling background with “fake” wrestling is beyond stupid. This interview is really like gonig back in time. Alex should’ve told her, I don’t give a **** about his takedown defesne ratio since I won’t even try to take him down. God that interviewer is stupid. How hard is it to make a research before your interview. If a movie star would be there, they would’ve researched every second of his life, but they have the world champion and they can’t even make a simple research on the sport, let alone the fighters. Log in to Reply high stakes August 6, 2013 @kryptonite you must not know much about ufc! rory will never get “smashed up” hes gonna go on to be the greatest of all time! and by then your gonna be sucking his d#$*! @Lord Faron you aswell don’t know sh** #1 the only reason Anderson lost was because he fought like an idiot(which you would have known if you had watched the fight!) #2 jon jones wont lose for like 8-10 years so I hope you are patient ps you guys are the kind of people I like to bet against ! people who are clueless and who willingly chose the fighter who wont win!…stick to soccer! Log in to Reply Boyd August 6, 2013 @KungDumbassFulowkick-didn’t you hear that she said that she new to the sport? didn’t your dumb ass noticed that from the get go? Its the BBC YOU DUMBTRUCK! You probably don’t even know what BBC is,research it you moron!!!!!! Log in to Reply inverteddickkick August 6, 2013 @kryptonite why do you “need” to put your hate on anyone? figure out your deep mental issues perhaps instead of having to hate people you dont know dipshit. @lord fagon you are exactly the type of “casual” fan that is a detriment to the sport. you need respect these athletes to enjoy how amazing this sport can be. wanting to watch someones “eyes roll back” is something only a pathetic loser would desire, my guess is you like that shit because it makes your sad life a little easier to live knowing someone else (the best fighter of all time) lost once in 17 outings. your pathetic. Log in to Reply T'Challa August 6, 2013 Yes, these mainstream interviews can be corny, frustrating etc, but you have to remember MMA is still new to most people. They need to keep doing press and educating the general public about MMA; hopefully in time media will catch on and ask more informed questions. Log in to Reply Prorok August 6, 2013 Lol at the lady. It’s kinda funny watching those fighters’ faces, when she asks those idiotic questions. Sadly there are tons of folks like her around. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick August 6, 2013 @Boyd Even if you’re BBC nothing stops you from doing a research. They have researchists at professional TV stations, their jbo is to do a research before the show so the interviewer doesn’t look stupid. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick August 6, 2013 If you had Lebron James in an interview and you wouldn’t know shit about him or basketball, you would at least look at some basketball tapes and inform yourself about the game. The women didn’t kew the differecne bewtween WWE and wrestling, you can’t defend that level of ignorance. It’s pathetic coming from a major TV station. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick August 6, 2013 She even called it the Ultimate fighting challenge for god’s sake. Come on. She could at least get those 3 letters right. Log in to Reply Chicago August 6, 2013 @ Boyd BBC stands for big black co*k right? Jk! Log in to Reply Dave August 7, 2013 I hope the viking gets jones! Log in to Reply tobes August 7, 2013 @ Kungfu Low Kick NO ONE knows what UFC/MMA is except UFC/MMA fans. It is still a small time sport. even lots of UFC fans don’t know anything outside of the UFC. I have asked every single Russian I’ve ever met. They all have heard of the Klitschkos. They say ‘of course’. Not a single one has ever heard of Fedor Emelianenko (and I pronounce it Fyodor). This BBC woman probably read a briefing about the 2 fighters 2 minutes before the interview. She was polite and respectful and this kind of interview helps to build the public profile of MMA. Also, I’m sure she realizes that it’s not anything goes… she’s asking the question for those people who still think it’s human cock-fighting. Interviewers ask questions to which they know the answers all the time. And everyone confuses wrestling with fake wrestling. EVERYONE. even serious fight fans don’t know the difference between ‘greco roman’ and ‘freestyle’ wrestling. they just think ‘greco roman wrestling’ means amateur, olympic style wrestling, i.e. not professional wrestling (not WWE). So it’s not ‘beyond stupid’. she’s clarifying the difference between amateur wrestling and professional wrestling for the viewing audience. British people don’t wrestle. It’s not a familiar sport in their country. And BBC gets more worldwide viewership than any network in the world save possibly CNN. finally comparing lebron james to bones jones is ridiculous. there are 5 foot story posters of Kobe and Lebron James on the sides of buildings in countries like Taiwan and China. Lebron has 14 million fans on facebook. Bones has 400,000. Log in to Reply palimpalim August 7, 2013 @chicago: hahaha, you made my day! Why do the BBC put a lady in this interview who’s new to this sport? Man, there were sitting the best fighters of the world… Log in to Reply kryptonite August 7, 2013 high stakes, start your own website you know all dumb **** yeah IL make money of betting off Jones at like 1to9 onn that’s clever betting i wouldn’t of thought of that Rory is gay just like you little girl wont lose ****ing spaz greatest of all time have you heard yourself seriously get a Rory tattoo on your chest dirty queer he was amazing last fight NOT Log in to Reply chata August 8, 2013 To everyone bashing the interviewers lack of experience: I believe the purpose of the interview is to explain the sport to an unfamiliar audience.
