K-1 WORLD GP 2008 IN SEOUL -FINAL 16 video of Badr Hari Vs. Hong Man Choi. The fight took place Saturday 27th, September 2008 at the Olympic Gymnasium-1, Seoul, Korea. |
how was that a draw? hari should’ve won
Ajajaj!
I was bitching because a thought Hari had either lost, or Choi had scored a Draw.
Props to Choi`s corner for acknowledging Hari“s superior striking.
Wait what? Two judges scored it as a Draw and one scored it for Choi. How did Choi not win a Majority Decision? Is it not the same like in the US?
wow what a joke, judges musta been watching another fight.
Badr, u’re the man!!
U’re the proud of Morocco.
Fuckin judges though!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you get a 10-8 for a knockdown in K1 im sure
Hong Man Choi is from the Republic of Choi and this fight took place in Seoul, Korea
I’ll like to see fedor vs choi part 2, I’m sure choi would kick fedors ass.
Muay Thai #1 — 1 out of 3 judges isn’t a majority in the US or anywhere. It was a majority draw, since the majority of the judges thought it was a draw.
cuz there’s almost always a homefield advantage. This was a fair call even thought the fight took place in Seoul.
I don’t know if anyone noticed but toward the end (around 7:00) a box popped up that said “Winner” and it looked like it was for the red corner. I’m not real sure how the Judging/Scoring works in K1 but I think they gave the win to Badr? At any rate it was a pretty good fight, after Badr got a wake up call in the form of one gigantic left hand, his foot work/head movement got a lot better. I think he did enough from that point to pull out a win. If there had been more than just the 1 knockdown I might have seen it differently.
pingaloca, come on!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously how can you still say that Choi may win against Fedor, He’s got more chances to get him pregnant….
Choi’s got no technique, no stricking, no combinations. He keeps on defending even against smaller oponents instead of being the agressor.
Fedor is the boss, no weakness at all. that’s why he keeps on winning.
Choi!!! Are u serious man… u must be kidding!!!
HMC didn’t initiate a single stike in this fight, he only countered the whole fight. Why did he do that. He got so much power and a strong chin (many of Badr’s shots would have knocked out other fighters) that he could go on the offense a lot more.
hhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiii
I agree, HMC should have been the aggressor. I don’t know why he didn’t initiate combos or go for the kill after that knock down.
Choi probably isn’t more active just because of how huge he is — I mean, he’s over 50% bigger than just about all his opponents (Badr Hari included). I figure just about everything he does in the ring has to be about 50% more strenuous, so you can’t really expect him to be wearing himself out by going after guys unless he knows he’s got them.
Yeah, he can definitely take quite a shot… he gets drilled numerous times just about every fight (because he’s kind of slow and awkward), but he’s only been KO’ed once.
Choi is a gentle giant, he’s got no business being in the brutal world of striking and mma. It’s all about business, he just happens to draw crowd due to his freakish size. No skills, but mainly too nice to be in the ring. Nice guys can win, but you can’t be nice in the ring.
Btw, Badr was declared the winner after Choi’s corner threw in the towel. Otherwise, the fight would’ve gone extra round after the draw was declared at the end of round 3.
Thanks Steve for clearing that up for me. Now that I think of it I’ve never seen a decision like this before. Anyway, Hari should have won that match.
Here is how the scoring for this fight went: after 3 rounds, the judges scored the fight a majority draw, which meant that another round was going to be added on to determine a winner. Before this OT round could happen, Choi’s corner threw in the towel and Hari was declared the winner. Rightfully so.
Why isn’t anyone bitching about HMC not being man enough to fight another round. I heard somewhere he was thinking about being in shape for his next fight, but come on how can any other fight be more important than getting into the K1 final eight. I think he knew Badr would drop him from body shots in the next round and he or his Korean minders didn’t want to be embarrassed on the world stage.
I totatly agreed with the judges that scored this a draw.Badr Hari won the first(10-9) and third round(10-9)and Choi dropped Badr Hari on second round(10-8).
Funny how that weak jab in the second almost floored Hari.
