Using your feet to push off the fence is legal. He did not use leverage to strike he pushed off and increased his elevation. They are refs governed by the commission body under the commissions rules not UFC refs. And only grabbing the fence to hold on is illegal! AWESOME AWESOME KICK!!!

Not illegal. First of all the rules are the same as the UFCs because the commission sets the rules. They always use the Unified rules of MMA:

Only grabbing the fence is illegal.

Awesome kick, but using leverage from the cage to strike is illegal in the UFC. And by causing a knock down with it should have been deducted a point. But that’s useless UFC refs for you. Great fight none the less. The JJ was insane.

That Kick was DOPE. Something usually you would see in a korean martial arts flick. i always thought someone would do it one day because some have already tried to leap of a superman punch from the cage. next moves i wanna see in MMA is a a 540 tornado kick hitting or an summersault kick. some Ong Bak s*** would be cool too. hope pettis keeps up the showtime. hope they never face him off with an grappler though. a well rounded guy like henderson is the best that keeps pushing. no lame ass grinding here. however Henderson looked bad catching the kick. at the end when his hair was open he couldn’t see the strikes coming because he was distracted by the locks hanging around his eyes like kj noons last fight. guys cut the long hair or dread it like faber.

That was arguably thee most epic move preformed in the history off mma, HANDS DOWN!!!!!! Hopefully other fighters start testing these moves out more often, and produce some kick ass finishes! Mad props to Pettis!
