Man this was the most innovative kick i’ve ever seen in mma even though it didnt end the fight, it would have stopped 95% of mma fighters BH just has an iron chin and heart for miles! Big props to Pettis and his camp…thats what you get when you train outta Duke Rufus’s gym along with great kickboxers like Pat Barry etc…this kids gonna make an impact!

I think I woke up the guys already sleeping in the fire house. So awesome! The WEC guys being added to the UFC is the best thing for the organization. I think WEC has always had way more exciting fights!

I agree that the WEC had much better fights than the UFC. The match ups were rarely as epic, but the fights themselves were the best. I’m glad that due to this kick the WEC is really going out with a bang

I’m glad Pettis has learned to fight with a game plan. I wasn’t sure if he was going to win, not because he lacked the skills, but because he always seemed like he wanted to stand and trade.
I’m glad he’s learning that not every fight has to be a slugfest.
If Pettis had landed those shots on Edgard-Maynard the fight would have ended way earlier. Henderson is very active and elusive compared to Edg. and May. Can’t wait to see Pettis bring some excitement to the snoozfest known as the UFC.
The UFC’s best move of ’10 was merging in the WEC. No one wants to pay $50 for a one fight card, specially when the main event is a GSP type of fight ~~DRY HUMPING or JABBING for 25 minutes

That Kick was DOPE. Something usually you would see in a korean martial arts flick. i always thought someone would do it one day because some have already tried to leap of a superman punch from the cage. next moves i wanna see in MMA is a a 540 tornado kick hitting or an summersault kick. some Ong Bak s*** would be cool too. hope pettis keeps up the showtime. hope they never face him off with an grappler though. a well rounded guy like henderson is the best that keeps pushing. no lame ass grinding here. however Henderson looked bad catching the kick. at the end when his hair was open he couldn’t see the strikes coming because he was distracted by the locks hanging around his eyes like kj noons last fight. guys cut the long hair or dread it like faber.

Awesome kick, but using leverage from the cage to strike is illegal in the UFC. And by causing a knock down with it should have been deducted a point. But that’s useless UFC refs for you. Great fight none the less. The JJ was insane.

Not illegal. First of all the rules are the same as the UFCs because the commission sets the rules. They always use the Unified rules of MMA:
Only grabbing the fence is illegal.

Using your feet to push off the fence is legal. He did not use leverage to strike he pushed off and increased his elevation. They are refs governed by the commission body under the commissions rules not UFC refs. And only grabbing the fence to hold on is illegal! AWESOME AWESOME KICK!!!
